Zafiro Añejo was first seen in "Breaking Bad" when Gus poisoned a bottle to take out the cartel. The writers originally planned on using a real liquor for the scene but no brand wanted to have their product used once they learned that it would be used to commit mass murder. They created Zafiro Añejo just for that scene and later used it in "Better Call Saul".
Nacho has the same mindset as Mike. When Nacho saw Price show up in a gaudy yellow Hummer, he realized right there that Price doesn’t have restraint and needed to cut ties. Nacho decided to just rip him off as a final act. He took whatever pills were left and took the baseball cards as extra “compensation”.
You might have recognized Ken Wins or Zafiro Anejo but that cop was also in Breaking Bad. He was the cop when Skylar wanted to kick Walt out of the house.
God damn, only the real hardcore fans recognized the cop. Ken I’m sure is the easy level fan can get. Zafiro is the medium level trivia fan. That cop is definitely the hardcore level fan can get
The episode started and ended with two scenes where he reads instructions on a switch. Jimmy doesn't care about the repercussions and proceeds to press it. Saul is scared and prefers staying stuck for hours than doing it.
The switch was just to show Jimmy's character. He needs to break a rule that seems begging to be broken, even if there's literally no point in doing so.
The b&w scene in season 1 was cool like "oh Gene is looking back on his life as Jimmy and Saul". But when I saw this episode it caught me off guard, in a good way. Honestly, I feel the decision taken by the writers to have a post-Breaking Bad storyline for Jimmy/Saul/Gene is one of the best things they did for the show.
That is “Ken Wins” from Breaking Bad. He appeared in 1.4 Cancer Man where he irritated Walt at the credit union and then later had his car destroyed for being an overall a**hole. Love how they worked him in here.
SE1 and SE2 of "Better Call Saul" takes place in 2002, six years before the events of "Breaking Bad", which took over place over two years, 2008 - 2010.
The switch is a tie-in to the b&w future forward scene at the beginning. It shows how Jimmy has gone from testing boundaries as he was in the first stages of becoming Saul to being a beat down sad sack years later. Brilliant writing.
Most con games involve the target being an accomplice to some kind of crime. People are less likely to notice they're being conned if they think they're getting away with something themselves, and nobody is going to go to the police and say "Some guy sold me a fake watch we robbed from a drunk in an alley!"
It's common for cons to target douchebags, or to involve the victim in questionable behaviour as part of the scam. It's like a less concrete version of how nacho says he likes to steal from criminals because they can't go to the cops - they have no recourse. In the case of a con it's more like making sure they're too ashamed to report it, even if their involvement isn't technically illegal.
@@scarlettmi Sure, but Eric wasn't even sure about that one. He only appeared in one episode of Breaking Bad, but appeared multiple times in Brooklyn 99, a show they are still watching at the moment.
@@marshymoo7149 super doubt. They literally always point out other castings. Like, ALL the time. Eric literally did this in a B99 reaction I recently watched. Holts mom shows up, and Eric can't keep himself from going "IT'S SO-AND-SO FROM LOST!".
So from what I could find online about the BB BCS timeline Breaking Bad takes place from 2008 to 2010 and Better Call Saul starts in 2002 and most likely will end in 2008 before or around the start of the events of Breaking Bad.
The switch probably was to a socket that someone had something plugged into that they didn't want turned off (maybe a humidifier or something) and they just put that note there so the cleaning crew wouldn't touch it.
There are 17 shots in a normal 750 ml bottle of Tequila so Ken's bill would have been around 850.00 and with tax 920.13. A bottle of Hardy Perfection Flamme Fire Cognac which the Zafiro Anejo Tequila is based on holds 700 ml's and costs 9, 120.00 dollars.
Sometimes you just gotta take a breath, chill out and let your mind work. Quit bustin your asses wondering if the switch is somehow connected to a nuclear launch, and just appreciate that Jimmy's first action here is one of blatant disregard and self destruction, of impulse, and of opportunistic learning.
Beyond all the metaphorical things the switch stands for when paired with Jimmy's mindset....I think the switch is just connected a socket in the room. And that whoever had that office before him put it up there because they had something important connected to it and didn't want it turned off. It's just a left over thing, that doesn't really mean anything anymore.
I would say you're enjoying it *because* there's "not enough". 99% of TV shows are bad because they're artificially bloated. How do we create as many questions as possible, how do we avoid answering those questions for as long as possible etc. How do we give a sequel bait ending when we could give a tight, satisfying ending?
can you do the full aspect ratio of the show, instead of cutting off the top and bottom? I had to check what happened on netflix to see the bird cause it was cut off when you reacted to it
Bill would be rougly 1323 assuming the bottle was 750ml in volume at 50 bucks per shot, including NM sales tax and a 15% tip. Though that guy doesn't seem like a tipper so I'll knock 165 off for 1158.
What's up with the cropping of the Saul footage? All 4 sides are cut off... This show is so good...I have been waiting forever for season 6, which apparently will be 13 episodes, but they mention that it will be "split in half"...I don't know what that means but I hope we don't have to wait until 2023 to see the second half.
I love the scene where Jimmy presses down the "do not press" button. I think the point is that others (especially Chuck) always tell Jimmy, you gotta follow the rules. But when he does not follow them, nothing bad ever happens. I think from his perspective rules and laws are completely arbitrary and he'd rather make is own rules. Jimmy actually never got in trouble for his scams and antics. He only got arrested for shitting into somebody's car. Chuck tells Jimmy, "you mustn't break the rules". Jimmy listens to him all this time and then he finds out Chuck was never on his side. Now he comes into the office and sees a "do not flip" switch, he flips it and nothing at all happens. The writing on the button now seems like a lie to keep him from doing what he wants, rather then important principle to follow. And all Chuck ever told him now seems to be just to keep him down out of Jealousy.
@@froziac3509 what? if they wanted that to matter then they would do what a lot of other reaction channels do. lower the opacity, mute the audio and crop it further. None of their other videos on the channel have ever been cropped so I don't know why they're doing it now since whenever they face copyright issues they just put the videos up on their website, like what they do with anime and what they did with Breaking Bad. My only guess is that the editor made a mistake or something. It's not a huge issue I'm just wondering what's the point of cropping like 10% of the screen, cause it wouldn't even be enough to block any copyright

Such a blessing in disguise they couldn't use any real brand. I wouldn't want to live in a world without the fictional Zafiro Anejo

Gene*
Brilliant distinction!!
The switch was just to show Jimmy's character. He needs to break a rule that seems begging to be broken, even if there's literally no point in doing so.
thats part of the truth, it was to show jimmys character in contrast with who eventually becomes. (Gene/Saul)
