I'm 52 yrs old now and can still do the centipede
.😂
Old breaker here....best days of my life
Absolutely fabulous dancing love the choreography! I don't see kids doing it much anymore where I live ❤❤❤ it was so much fun to stand around and watch them
This is My Era right here Ya'll. Long Live The 80's Baby!!! 😎
Stockton California in the early 80'. My family friends all thought I was nuts but there is no more skilled dancing than this. Proud to be be part of the days
South Boogie Down! Pelan the Mecca, and birthplace of Hip-Hop!
70's babies.. don't try to hijack our culture, you 80's baby lol
First gen b boy here. I was 10. did not know what i saw. The moves i see here. Some of them i did too. Could not dream or imagine that they would do move these days were impossible to think of back then. Such as stand on 1 hand and bounce a little.
Watching this makes me wanna go aback to these times. The clothing, music, school and the people in general were more chill then these days.
Less fighting and stand around in a circle that was the gang. no blades, guns, fights, and we all be happy and dance our feet until they was on fire. Talk all day with your mates. no phones and social media.
Man back in 82 and 83 I was consumed with break dance and poppin. I loved going to my local park where poppin battles took place
What a truly glorious time to be alive. We are hip-hop. ❤
Never in my life have I ever felt freedom till I learned to Breakdance!!👍
Wow_ that awesome to hear !
there's some truth there
I'm 66 and I was born n raised in the Bronx where it all started. Nothing beats the boogie down yo!
#eastchestergardens #gompers #nycha
That housing project used to be filled with gang activity. Don’t know how much it changed? If at all…
@andrewjones2133 - the REAL gangs wear blue uniforms and badges. The REAL crooks work on Wall St and got away with a multi trillion dollar economic collapse, that tax payers bailed out. Make it make sense 🤷🏽
1980 BORN TO ROCK
Just want to give a big thank you for this video.
I remember school dances back in the 80's forming circles for dance battles. Bet you won't see that today!
Hell yeah my era too. I was 12! Rock Steady tge legends. Kuriaki my favorite RIP man. That scene in Beat Strert at the house party where he takes over the floor , then he and apex face off. Hell yeah the classic line “So what’s up with that Punk”! Classic ! The best era!
so dope. thank you for sharing! ONE LOVE
Us old schooler, humans before iPhones and PlayStations !!

Glad I grew up with this in the early mid eighties there's never been anything as good since
Talk about letting the buzzing warp your head people now aren't more talented than they were back in the 70s,,80s and up its called evolving!!! Just like the kids in 2040 will look back at 2024 and say how much they changed!!! Trying something different and changing this move and twisting another way yeah its going to evolve no generation is better than the next generation!!!! I remember when they were just what they called poppin and lockin and some back spinning too now they're doing some crazy shit like spinning on the back then somehow going into a head spin then again somehow doing some antigravity Giro moon walk lol no not better just evolving
Back when chit was Fresh! Straight outta the package. No cookie cutter, no followers.... originality was mandatory. Biters got dealt with. Best decade ever. And it lives on. Breakers, Graffiti Artists, DJs, Emcees... This is the blueprint... and will never be duplicated. Legends never die. ♥️
Straight facts baby 💥
@@OathfLouve "no cookie cutters, no followers, originality was mandatory" 100% facts right there bro!
ONE OF THE STRONGEST BREAKDANCES THAT EXIST UNTIL TODAY AND ALL DAY WE GROWED UP WITH THESE AND STARTED BREAKDANCE WITH THESE BRAVO FOR UPLOADING ON RUclips
Been living in NYC since ‘85. Much RESPECT to all the original BBoyz🔥🔥🔥 yall kilt it‼️
To me the 80s brought all cultures together then Break dancing to me greatest the street dance culture became recognised as a dance art like Ballet, Ballroom etc born in the ghettos now has recognition as a dance art nothing can beat that
It has elements of ballet, gymnastics, martial arts. Started in the "ghetto" but has non-ghetto elements.
COOL G RAPP, those were the best days, and it will never be another
Never gets old I could pop and break these are the times super raw nothing like this the music dance and art
0:50 damn that bboy does his spin on the tip of his elbow's 🥵🥵. I have seen bboy Morris doing that but that was wide open leg and continuous motion after flare . This is on different level 🔥
different level is Crash Bandicoot . >>> ruclips.net/video/93jQlVl6hYc/видео.html
It was an incredibly rare move before the 200s, now a lot of the top breakers can do elbow spins.
Coming out of Westbury LI, we watched the kids from NYC and got inspired. I’m 53.
Same I'm 53 and key doing it until 22 year old
Dope !! I was 10 in 84. We battled all them time and we grew up fast.
Impressive skills.
Music of my childhood, first trys of breaking, first success and respect ❤❤❤
This is how the kids form the Boogie Down expressed themselves in the '80s, it caught on and spread around the world like a wild fire that burns to this day!!! Peace to all worldwide B Boys and B Girls
Love it!
It's what i am MOST looking forward to at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
me too !! can't wait !!First time breakdance is in OG !!

New York was and is Awesome!!! I love❤ NY
it's so cool hearing Breakers Revenge again.
Breakdance is where it's at and then that keyboard syth line.
Man i miss this time
Omg this took me way back. Man, I'm 53 this year and still listening to my old school hip hop. I so miss the days as a B-Boy. I loved the 80s and wish I could go back in time. Long Live The hip hop Culture..peace 👊🏻
Same here and I'm 53!
Crazy that now Breakin can do far more difficult skills it is less popular and very much a minority thing. Not own set of flares absolutely no air flares. Just shows that you need to be aligned with current music. Afrobeats/Amapiano is leading the current dance trends. But still the nostalgia is heavy
The ba title scene from Beat Street is one of if not the greatest battle on celluloid.....From a B-boy to a G.o.d.....thank you NY!!!!!✌🏾 to the NGE....
Lovely
Now this dance is an olympic thing..
Wooo nyc real new york
GREAT
I was a Bboy from Caguas PR ❤HBO-Home Boys Only 🎉Chino DJ.+DJ Davy./LOITERS from Caguas-Villa Nueva 💯 ❤🫡

Back when everyone didn't cry about racism 24/7
You mean back when no one was listening. The Civil Rights movement was 20 years before that so stop the cap.
This was the 2nd era when latinos caught on. This started in the 70s.
Wrong. They were into it in the 70's. There were guys like Spy, members of the Rockwell Associtation, members of TBB, members of Rock Steady Crew, and many more in the 70's from the Bronx and Manhattan.
América central em peso
BEAT STREET
burn em freddy ...BURN EM
03:54 브레이킨2에도 나오는 Richie Pineiro
But, how DO you windmill ?
Not to take anything from today's breakers, but there was a special style, movement thats rarely seen
There was a smoothness to it back then. There are more spectacular combos now.
IONIZE NEVER FORGET I PICKED UP ARTHUR BAKER'S 'BREAKER'S REVENGE (IMPORT) FOR 10 p from Sellenbys in STH HARROW ! NUFF RESPEKT !
Truth b told y'all I'm from Los Angeles. And was a little popper back then
But seriously new York blew us the fuck out straight decimated us bless we really tried
But 2 no avail
Seriously no mutha fucking avail
Just saying
Explain I want to hear . I was born in Los Angeles '84 so I got to see a lil Cali Breaking but moved to east coast my teenage years where I still had interest but not as much as I have now.. like every step is like a pop n lock to me crazy to explain but It feels like I'm freeing my mind n soul even still beat box a bit with the movements lol.. sorry to bother
Name song please?
Old school the best. Now it's all rubbish and an evil atmosphere.
Back in the 80s i was a teenager used to body pop to school, lunch
Home time on the streets during holidays
At home.
83-to 86 was brilliant for body popping and breakdancing.
not rare, i´ve seen a lot of these footage for years in documentaries, tv speciales, music videos etc but nice copilation
