Great ideal! Were was HP ideals years ago? Over 20 years ago; I actually planned for a whole month and every night unless it was leftover night with different meals. What a challenge but I managed 1 month with trying new recipes. Later on I wrote down different meals to choose from on notebook paper. What I did was write down different meats and under each then wrote down the recipe. I tried to make each night a different type rather it was pasta, hamburger, pork, chicken, etc.
I collect recipes and print them out. I put them in a folder in the kitchen. Before I do my spread, I will look through the pantry frige and freezer to see what I have. Then I meal plan from the folder of recipes that I have. The family tells me which they like best and duds are thrown away. What you said made me sad (not your intention) about your mom cooking lasagna every Sunday. I miss my family meal traditions, both of my parents passed away some time ago.
Great idea! I often buy groceries with the best intention of cooking the meal(s) but then lose my taste for them and the food gets wasted. ☹️ Your video has inspired me to meal plan. It’s the “kick in the pants” I needed!! Thanks! 👍
Some grocery stores carry meal kits from Home Chef and other companies. They typically have a recipe card inside that you can keep, so you can recreate the meal at a later date. It's a great way to try new things without the commitment of the delivery service or a whole bunch of an unfamiliar ingredient that you may end up not liking or using again.
❤️All of your videos but I had to pop in and say love the videos like this the most! The bucket lists, the date ideas, the monthly planning page... Your decorations are always beautiful but the way you organize your life, functionally, has helped me the most. Thank you
This was such a help! Definitely going to try this. I am always stumped about dinners when it’s time to plan but I feel like this will help as a reference
I followed the book Sidetracked Sisters Catch-up on the Kitchen. Their system may be a little complex, but it DOES work and gives you meals to last a year. My second idea was from Ethel Kennedy who had a menu plan for a family of 12 (yikes!). She listed 21 dinners, served all of them, then started over again. This ensured that no meal was served more often than every 3 weeks. And lastly, shop by the sale ads, stock up your frig, freezer and pantry, then plan meals every day or 2, which allows for defrosting of meats or soaking beans, etc. and nothing will go to waste. Hope these ideas help.
I am so very much the same. I am on a healthy eating plan and trying to plan better and prepare more at home. This is a brilliant idea I am going to adopt. At this point I’m more of a recipe collector than preparer! Thanks so much!
I have a list of all our favorite meal on the frig and whenever I get stumped on what to cook I look at my list . This list even helps me come up with meal prep cause I can go through my freezer and frig see what I have what needs to be used and I helps on busy days.
What a great idea. Been married 45 years and feel like I have run out of idea for dinner too. I know I'm going to do this lay our. Thanks for this you-tube.
A list of back pocket meals that are always in the pantry! I have been dreaming and fussing over my July planner with the household extension pack so this is definitely going in it. Or maybe in my new recipe planner.probably both!
Love love love! I love the idea of meal planning, and buying ingredients for a specific purpose, but then it comes to the day I'm cooking a specific meal and I just don't feel like cooking. So it would be real easy to swap out meals using a list like this. ^_^
We have a list like this, no where near as organised though. We use it when we're making our grocery list and it's a huge lifesaver! I'm going to redo ours and add it to my planner. Tfs 😊
I have a folded up sheet in my planner with ideas as well. Definitely not as pretty as yours. Thanks for the idea, I think I’ll remake my sheet today. But I’ve categorized them by breakfast, Mexican food, Italian food, Asian food...and if I have a craving for something then I know where to look. I also try and use leftovers in a new dish. If we have a roast chicken one night, I’ll shred the chicken the next day for quesadillas or chicken soup. So I try and keep that in mind when planning out my week.
I have something like this scribbled on a note page in my mini. Good idea to make it an official add in page! Just wait until you expand your family. Then it's really a pain in the butt!
If you don't want ads, use an ad-block extension on your browser. (unless you're watching on a phone, which in that case just think that as heather helps you, the ads you watch help her continue with what she does.)
Love this! I’m made a family meal idea list and will be making a Weight Watchers idea list next. Thank you for inspiring all of the planner babes!!

Oh my gosh! You are a genius! I struggle as well with menu planning and this just made it easy for me. One of the best things I've seen.

Great idea
We also struggle on what to cook! This idea is brilliant! 💜
LOVE THIS!! I will be adding one of these to my planners. I hate meal planning so much too but this is a wonderful idea!
This is very helpful, I struggled with meal planning too. Thanks for sharing you are one amazing planner!

Such a great idea! 💖
Good idea...🙂
This is a fantastic idea! Thank you for sharing. I ordered that kit so I can do just this for my planner too!
Great idea! It's frustrating trying to come up with something new every single day!! :)
Great idea!
Follow the National Food Holidays!!! Like national Coc au Vin day!!
I promise... I was just saying that's what I want use these pages for... Great minds think alike💜

Love this, thanks for the ideas !
Watching this reminded me of foods that I hadn't thought to eat in a long time. Which I should probably write down before I forget again lol.
That was such a great idea. Thank you
Great idea! TFS
Clever idea! Love it 😍
I would love the recipe for the avacado wraps

Love your new intro
Then when your feeling uninspired u could use a random number generator and be like yeah we are having meal 12 lol
I have something like this scribbled on a note page in my mini. Good idea to make it an official add in page! Just wait until you expand your family. Then it's really a pain in the butt!
Neat idea. Tfs
Where do you keep it in your planner?
I've never seen those pages. Are they Happy Planner?
Niki Reynolds yes, the recipe pack.
I just made a list like this last week, but not nearly as cute as yours 😉
What would have been cool/helpful is if that grocery list was perforated so u could just rip it out 😁
Ooo, I have a perforated cutter, thanks for the idea.
Four ads in a 14 min video. Wow. Love you, Heather, but that's excessive.
If you don't want ads, use an ad-block extension on your browser. (unless you're watching on a phone, which in that case just think that as heather helps you, the ads you watch help her continue with what she does.)
Sorry! But the all- black scheme is really looking dirty and squeezed in. Not like Heather !
Stop saying "hate", Heather! Put it in your hate book!! LOL!! (Hate book idea given by Mariel at Wandering Planners Orlando)
