Really learned a lot from your videos (kudos for your patience!), but the main thing that I've learnt is that I am NEVER going to swap out a Spyder engine 😂😂
Hey buddy, I am rooting for you, can’t wait to see you fire it up. It has been interesting to watch you replace the engine on your Spyder. I know I would never have tried it myself. Best of luck 🤞 😀
Thank you! I really love doing this sort of thing. I'm happy to bring you along on the journey. The current snow storm here is going to hinder the progress on firing it up, but I'm chomping at the bit to see it run myself.
I would advise sticking a rag in each of the three manifold ports to keep some nasty thing like a nut or washer from falling in. I have seen it happen.
That looked like no easy task. An old trick for two wheels is to lay the bike on it's side and drop the motor in. Wow, to watch you wrestle that just made my back hurt.
Glad you liked it! The Y-DER Truck played a silent role in this one too. I used the trailer hitch on the other side of the canopy to ratchet strap the engine into place.
Hello. please tell me if it is possible to install the 1330 RT 2017 engine on the F3-T 2017 frame? The engine is identical. Do you think it’s possible or will the fasteners not line up? thank you for the information and I like and subscribe
I've actually never looked into this. However, I was once told when I was looking for my RT engine that the paint on the F3 engine was the only difference.
@@Y-DER 😁... Being "First" is sort of a "thing" on YT amongst certain folks... almost like a game .... Just a fun little thing 🤗🤷♀️. Of course you and your wife actually watched it privately first...I do that too on my own uploads to make sure I didn't do something dumb in my editing 😂... which I have sometimes lol 😅
@@PurpleOnThree I was an associate producer on a movie that we uploaded to Prime Video and a technical glitch with DropBox excluded a drone shot and replaced it with 5 seconds of an orange screen saying "Missing Video File". I will never do that again... The "First" game sounds like a fun one. I will give it a shot.

If you ever run into the situation where you need a swap, send it my way - I'm ready for another one... Cheers!
@@Y-DER thanks, but could be a bit of a trip from France 🤣

Great content. Please cover your plastic parts when using a grinder. Awesome job. Great helper.
Tricky fit, looking forward to the next one and seeing it runing. 🙂
Thank you! Good news is you won’t have to wait long. Next video was uploaded yesterday!

Great point! I actually stuffed shop towels off camera.

I nursed the back for a few days after that one. I just imagined the Spyder up on its side. That would be a sight to see.
That did not look easy! Good job!!
The video made it look way easier than it actually was. Thank you!
thanks to editing lol@@Y-DER
Always nice ot have an extra set of hands!
You got that right!
Wholly cow, wholly mackerel, wholly crap 😳 ... you did it... piece of cake (not) !!! That was awesome 👏🤝🙌👊😁👍
Thank you! Hopefully it will be awesome-er when it starts.
Oh that belt looks worn...do you know if it is the original belt?
I have no idea but the wear on it looks like it could be. Good thing I bought a new one from Mr. Jim when i picked up the engine.
@@Y-DER 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice job! I was waiting for that. Quite the workout!

How much does that engine weigh?
I'm not sure but if I had to venture a guess I would say somewhere between 400-600 lbs
whew!@@Y-DER
@@Y-DER 400-600 lbs must have felt like a freakin' TON!
@@1funcar the advantage of hydraulic power! 😎
Forgive my lack of knowledge but what was that liquid coming out on day 1? It looked too thin to be oil....or was it oil?
Antifreeze
thank you@@Y-DER

How many miles were on the failed engine? Do you know what caused the failure? Thanks in advance.
Failed engine had 130k. There is a gear that runs the timing chain up to the cams that failed. I have a good video of it in this series.
Great Job!
Thanks!
I don't know a couple of f1 mechanics would have only taken an hour 😄 only joking that looked like a pig of a job 👍
I think now that I’ve done it once, I could probably do it start to finish in a day. Thanks for sharing in the journey. Cheers!
Hi ate great videos , but please tur dow the music way to loud, spoils the enjoyment of your videos
Sorry about that. I will try softer music on the next one. Hopefully the sweet sound of the engine running will make it better too!
This is not a project for the faint of heart or mechanically-challenged people.
I was just flying by the seat of my pants and learning as I go...
Cherry picker?
Correct - Slang for hydraulic engine hoist
First!
Technically second... lol - Wifey and I always watch before it goes public
First comment lol😁😁 @@Y-DER
@PurpleOnThree I’m sure you were the first public watch too. I don’t think it was public for even a minute yet… lol
