Dan is here for a reason, and that is to share God's love to everyone. My hubby is a miracle, just like Dan. He has died twice and battled Covid, but God's not done with him yet.
When my wife and I met you at the theater concession line we could definitely relate to how you were feeling. I suffered a spinal injury while in the service that has left me with permanent nerve damage and elimination issues. Although I can walk, I was left with a neurogenic bladder and uncontrollable muscles that handle the bowel control. In 2021, I had to have a spinal surgery to replace my neurostimulator, however it didn’t go as planned. It seems that during surgery, my bladder was contaminated by a dirty Foley catheter and I received a massive UTI and kidney infection a couple days later. My wife said I was extremely disoriented, in massive amounts of pain and was doing odd and dangerous things, such as driving. She took me to a local hospital where they treated me for the pandemic and gave me drugs I had reactions too in the past (after my wife said not to administer) and they let the UTI progress on. After 12 hours they took a urine sample after the uncontrollable vomiting and bowel releases became dangerous. While taking the samples the told my wife and daughter to call our preacher to administer my last rights because they did not think I’d make it through the night. Luckily the prayers worked and a specialist figured out that I had an extremely bad UTI and Kidney infection on top of having complications from the pandemic issue. I, like Dan had no recollection of any of this happening, as the last thing I remember was being wheeled into the UofU O.R. for my spinal surgery, the next thing I remember was waking up in a different hospital’s ICU, 45 miles north. Since that day, I have chosen to do everything in my power to not get another UTI, I no longer do daily catheterization and wear a high capacity brief. Though this can be extremely humiliating while in public, especially when I’m having mobility issues and my wife has to help me with changing. It gets hard because not every place around us has a family bathroom, so strict planning, diet and hydration has to be planned out. Thank you both for your inspiration, it was a blessing to have met you. Please don’t take this wrong, but my wife and I feel bad that you had to go through this like I did, we hoped to never hear from anyone ever suffering through the kind of UTI that effected mental health. We’ll continue to pray for you and your family. God Bless

I have a beautiful 53 year old daughter who suffers as you do Dan. She has M.S. And pain is so uncontrolled but lives with it... we feel for you you. Love you and your family.❤
Yup, my stepmom almost died from a UTI because she became septic. I'm so sorry this happened!! You did good knowing your husband and do a great job speaking up for him. Scary stuff! God's continued blessings 🙏💗🙏
I had sepsis as well from a uti. So glad that your second mom is okay. I was in the hospital for three months. Being a manual wheelchair user and losing even more body function was extremely scary. Take care!
@natashak3387 thank you. I've had to use a wheelchair in the past and grateful for what I can do. I went septic after 6 months of having a hole in my stomach from a colostomy bag and passed out living alone. I remember looking at the clock at 3:00 a.m. when a friend happened to stop by and found me on the kitchen floor in the morning. It came on 3 days after a Dr told me to take the wick out of the hole, and I had no idea I was sick. Crazy! Air lifted to a trauma unit for an 8 hour surgery to fix all kinds of holes inside me.
God watch over you ALL. I am retired now, however i was a CNA for different populations for almost 50 yrs. I KNOW that tv and movies and probably Dan's injuries, make the ICU a scary place BUT, if your loved one is in the ICU, it's the best place for them- the nurses have MANY less patients so you get more one-on-one care which allows them to observe more and catch things quickly. Also in ICU they get to know and love the patients which is another layer of nursing care. I know it's difficult to stay positive, but the stronger and more positive you are, the more positive energy Dan will feel. I have grown to love your sweet family and wish you all the best. For Dan, may God ease your pain more each day❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The VICTORY is Both of YOURS!!! THE LORD'S HANDS OF HEALING IS UPON YOU BOTH...HE HAS GIVEN YOU BOTH AND THE CHILDREN STRENGTH AND ENDURANCE WITH EACH EPISODE...LOVE AND PRAYERS FROM HAWAII...
Dan, as they say in the safety demonstration at the start of every flight - “put your oxygen mask on yourself first” The most giving and loving thing we can do for our loved ones is to after ourselves and make sure we stay able to love and care for them. I can see regret and concern in your expression reacting at the immense terror and pain Andrea went through when you were so very ill. Watching the two of you together and being so loving together is so very moving. Sending you all so much love.
I just want to say thank you both your strength, inspiration is so strong my dad just passed away December 23 2023 he had brain cancer and his short term memory was affected he got Covid he ended up aspirated he passed in his sleep but there no more pain thank you both for sharing your lives and sharing your health issues thank you for showing your strength and love I pray for everyone to have a wonderful 2024 thank you guys again
Also, Parents: "You can stay in here but you gotta be quiet" Baby girl: " me me me me me me meeee" So sweet and beautiful! God bless those babies and keep them!❤❤❤
Good grief, someday i will watch the WHOLE video before commenting lmbo. Comment # 3! DAN you amazing man- i want you to imagine for one sec how VERY HARD your body works on a daily basis even just trying to deal with your AA, much less your day to day Dad- ing, which we can obviously see you are energetic and fun and so present for all your babies. HOWEVER if you don't let your body rest- at LEAST 6- 7 hours every night, eventually it will FORCE you to rest, probably in the hospital. You can't possibly do everything all the time for everyone, without letting your body and mind heal during sleep. As a 64 yo Mom of 3, Grandma of 3, Great-grandma of 1- you LISTEN to Momma Bear( my daughter's name for me) and rest young man, so you can always be there for your wonderful family. Keep praying for support from our Holy Father and he will cradle you in His gentle arms and let you sleep. Grammie Raine❤
Dan has truly been an inspiration to me , knowing of his condition and he is still putting his best foot forward is truly a blessing. Keep holding on to his unchanging hands God is in control. Keep trusting.
I don't do social media so Thank you for sharing this on RUclips!! I keep Dan and your family in prayers everyday whether I see posts or not. The power of prayer WORKS 🙏💗🙏
I had a UTI that turned septic. Earlier in the year I had been diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism. I fell going outside, so my kids took me to the er. I don’t remember the car ride or getting checked in. If my kids hadn’t of forced me to go, I’m sure I wouldn’t be here now!!! I had no idea that a UTI could make you so delirious!
So happy Dan is doing better, and your family is back together. I'm on my 5th Cancer and I won't quit , I have a little girl to raise. Sending love and prayers to you all ❤
I live in Sydney Australia I love your channel. I fell 7 metres broke both legs tibia and fibia L4 broken back and pelvis and arm. Physio is painful. I'm grateful to be able to walk. Your story is one of the bravest ever. 🏆❤
Dan what a beautiful tribute you have paid to your wife. I know for sure first hand that its possible to be in such tune with the spirit. Its very real. I pray for you and your family. You are such a hero . Never give up and never stop believing. I hope the New Year is going to be so good for you all. 😊
I’ve been watching your videos for a while now off and on this is the first time I’ve heard that she has MS and I’m so very sorry to hear this. I was actually afraid that’s what I had a few years ago. You too, your faith must be pretty strong and your marriage is pretty strongand you got it all together and I’m just saying you both are amazing people. I can’t believe the things he can do. It’s just amazing to me just the problems I have after my surgeries. Thank you guys so much for sharing everything.❤
I really have a lot of respect for that man and the strength he and his family show, I wish you all the best and thank you for showing it to the world and it has helped me through some difficult times
Omgosh….i can’t even imagine the trauma of “re-experiencing” all of that! I’ve worked with children from 3yrs to 21yrs with disabilities. TBI’s are terrifying and so sad. May the Lord bless you and your beautiful family. I will definitely keep you all in prayer!
I was diagnosed with adhesive arachnoiditis about 10 years ago.. it was found after my third back surgery. Apparently it happened somewhere in between my second and third so far I’ve had four. They looked back at the MRIs and the nerve damage wasn’t there before my back surgery but it was there prior to my third.. basically all of my nerves are clump together at the nerve root, between the two and five section.. when I first diagnosed, it was incredibly painful.. I’ve watched a few of your videos, and I know that Pain very well.. I’ve been in pain management for about a decade as well because there is no cure. There is only managing the pain and the cramping that goes with this horrible disease. I also had my hip replaced earlier this year.. and somehow blew out my cartilage so they did a repair on that at the same time and now I’m having horrible femur pain and I know it’s nerve because it comes and goes but when it comes on I literally cannot move and I’m just like you barely breathing trying to cope with the pain so now this is something extra that I have to deal with.. I don’t know about you, but I always find it comforting to know that I’m not alone in this journey and I don’t let it get me down.. I have good days and bad days.. I’ve been on disability for almost 3 years just trying to get by financially.. I really wish they would put more effort into figuring out a way to help people with this and how to prevent it.. thank you for being brave enough to tell your story ♥️
Andrea, my heart swells listening to your faithful response to the trials you've walked through. Had you not endured the the medical experiences and marital heartbreak with your exhusband, you may have been unable to overcome this crisis. All things can be used for the good of the saints. Our God is a good God!
Dan, you touched on the fact you never saw your parents solve their issues, as they dealt with them privately. Same with my parents. I had no idea how to resolve conflict. When I began my latest & greatest relationship, I had adopted the Four Agreements. My partner liked the idea of a gentle considerate conversation to work out connflict & use the Four Agreements. 1. Always do your best. 2. Be impecable in your word. 3. Never make assumptions. 4. Don't take anything personally. I find keeping these agreements makes each person responsible for their own actions. It cut out the he said, she said & disagreements made by assumptions. Not taking anything personally is the hardest, but wow...its amazing when one manages to perfect it. It means, one is more aproachable & has easier conversations oround conflict. It makes me feel strong & confident. My partner knows he can trust me to remain calm, listen & reply respectfully & I know he will do the same. No grudges, harsh words which can never be unheard. Enter, trust, respect... love, light & laughter. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This poor girl has been threw so much, I give her a lot of credit for still gettin out of bed in the morning, I wish u both all the smiles u guys deserve, 👍🤙
Dan i am old enough to be your Mama, i raised three sons...I understand how men can be. Please take good care of yourself so you can be there for your family. From the looks of things you are truly loved. You are an inspiration to me because right now im in terrible back pain and when i cant get my back and legs to work I rember watching your determination. Im afraid to tell my Dr. afraid of another surgery. Hang in there and dont ever give up.
I've had sepsis 3 times from chronic UTI's. I've been delirious, had hallucinations, psychosis. ‼️You DO NOT always have a temperature with any infection‼️ They can present in sooooo many ways. NEVER EVER neglect a UTI, Dans testimony is proof how serious it can be. Sometimes Dr's and nurses don't even realise straight away 🙏🏽
Dan has such a personality. Checking himself out in the camera with his hats. God has a reason for him to still be here and that’s to share the story of the miracles god has worked in his life and how God can work in theres
Dan please please please take care of yourself. Your wife needs you and all of your beautiful kids need you. God knows best and all the blessings He hands to you and your family is for such a special reason. Love to you all.
Your family is so inspiring! Thank God for you guys ..you might not realise but you guys are such a light! So glad Dan is ok and you as well! You both have been through a lot!
I never realized how serious UTIs CAN be, deadly. A loved one of ours picked up a antibiotic resistant strain (he caths also) and multiple times, weeks, and months apart, he developed symptoms like Dan's. ICU, severe problems. His became recurring and only resolved for good after very long courses of the kinds of antibiotics needed. He would seem fine for weeks. Months. Then suddenly recurring symptoms. The good news is when they finally did several weeks of correct antibiotics, it's been over a year since reaccurrance!! The Lord 🙏 is with you all!!! ❤
I watched some of your videos..and it is really so inspiring! If all couples like you there will be no divorce and annulments. There will be world peace and full of love!
You know when it's true love when you stick together through all of life's ups and downs! Keep the faith and know God's got your back through out all of this !
So very happy to see you being able to take this video. What a whirlwind ..... pain and exhaustion. It's so hard to watch you go through that. We've all sort of taken you under our wings cuz we've all falling in love with your beautiful family. We only wish the very very best for you❤❤❤
It’s because he is an amazing man. And you’re an amazing wife to be standing by him and every way. I know I’m experienced my cell but it’s like being paralyzed for a couple of months and going through some big things, but would you go through man you gave me strengthand give me strength every day sir I’m 65 and God bless you❤
Dan I have MS. 2023i was unresponsive when the ambulance picked up. When I got to the hospital they sad my stomach was infected and I had a UTI. I went septic. I was incubated for almost 3 days. My daughter and grandson were tthree days. days. I spent December learning to talk , walk , and other things again. That was my first stay in the hospital. WOW😮😢❤ IT WASN'T easy. Thank God!! 😊
You two are a beautiful Couple and family. The Lord is faithful and he hears our cries...God has you all in the palm of his hand never to let you go. May the Lord use all of this for His Glory. Many blessings to you and your family.
I can hardly get through your videos without breaking down. I love you so much and am so grateful for your love of our Father in heaven and for your testimony. God is so good to us. Love you ❤
Dan is a miracle from God so when people say God don’t do miracles just come here God bless this world just needs have faith love each other as God first loves all of us
I don’t know how hard your life is, but at 80 I do know that you need to love yourself and take care of your health. I will keep you both in my prayers! May God bless you both and keep you healthy. You are dear people!
Hey Dan, my UTIs thankfully have never been as horrendous as yours was, but yes, we men have the capacity to ignore our 'inside' & focus on 'outside' to our detriment. However over the years (26 of 'em !) I've learnt to react sooner when I sense a looming UTI. I drop everything, drink water, take antibiotics & go to bed, sleep does a lot of good for my UTIs. If I don't listen to my body, sooner or later the UTI will bight me & those pain levels can soar northwards big-time ! Take care of each other Xoxo.
I can relate to the ER not taking you seriously. I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis all my life and I am 67 now. I have had 30 orthopedic surgeries due to the RA. I had to go to the emergency room 4 months after back surgery and of course they treated me like a drug seeker. I asked for an X-ray and they asked if I fell which I hadn’t. “We don’t do X-rays if you didn’t fall”. They gave me a shot of Dilaudid and sent me home. 2 weeks later I was at my surgeon’s office and an X-ray showed I had 2 fractures in my spine. Another doctor told me I should have sued the nurse practitioner who treated me that night and the hospital.
44 years married and I will say I love my husband. But we have had arguments, gotten angry etc, but God is our mediator and we remain committed to each other through all things. Also not to go to bed angry or let each other leave anywhere with out I love you. Glad your better🙏🏼
Dan, listen to your amazing wife and take care of yourself better. I know its not something alot of guys think about, but you gotta do it. If not for yourself, then do it for your beautiful family💖
You both have touched my heart. I have been through hell and back with my health. The power of prayer can pull you through the darkest days. I have been do broken and on my knees crying uncontrollably and had the Lord speak to me and the peace that overcomes you at that time is undeniable. Peace, strength and love to both of you.
I see God's work in this family! I 🇵🇦 am not a religious person. I believe in God. But I keep my prayers 🙏 at home. I 🇵🇦 believe that HE hears you wherever you are. But these people are special. They are EXTREMELY good at expressing their feelings and problems in a way that makes you understand what is happening. You are a blessing to us all!❤❤❤
So glad that you are okay. I almost died a few years ago from sepsis related to a uti. I won't go into anymore because I don't want to spread fear. Also, I am pre-diabetic and was in the emergency room not too long ago because I couldn't even tell them my name or anything. My sugar got too low eventhough I tried to treat on my own. Be safe and take care. Continued prayers to you and family.
UTI ARE SO UNDER RATED.. flushing flushing the tubes sterilising I can't say enough, don't let the say its okay to just run water through the tubes, you are so vulnerable to infection. And that's where it's going to attack you.. I'm so sorry for you in pain like that, your battle is big a Dan...beautiful wife and kids, I wish for you a better 2024 please God, give them a break. Flowers 💐
Let’s get something straight Dan, 50’s are not elderly!!! LOL You wait you’ll be there one day and you’ll know what I’m talking about. Besides that, keep giving it all you’ve got. You are an inspiration. 🥰
I am really thrilled to see your family get some love and gifts because you and Dan and those precious kids deserve extra love and help through God...we all love and care about you..hugs❤
I follow you from Turkey. I am also the father of 2 daughters. Fathers can never give up. fights until the last moment. Dan dude, you are a true hero. Never give up 🤜👍
I have a baclofen pump. It can make you panic and question if the pump is working properly. I also take it orally. WheelchaiDad, you're my inspiration. You're an AWESOME man. Thank you for sharing your story and life with us. You and your family are beautiful. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
You are such a beautiful family,God is always in control always!Faith in Him makes all the difference !Bless you all, keep the faith! You are an inspiration to many people who are in difficult situations!Shalom from Canada 🇨🇦!
I’m happy that Dan came through this. My husband was wheelchair bound missing his leg. He fell out of his wheelchair and broke his pelvis and femora bone had internal bleeding. While in the hospital he had 2 heart failures and a stroke. He lived for a year before they removed his other leg due to sepsis. After they removed his other leg, he was delirious and had no idea what was going on or where he was most of the time and he passed a month later. I’m praying for you both to recover from Dan’s paralysis and your MS. God is a healer. Jesus covers us in miracles still happen today God bless you both
Dan is here for a reason, and that is to share God's love to everyone. My hubby is a miracle, just like Dan. He has died twice and battled Covid, but God's not done with him yet.

Love you two and your beautiful family. Praying your healing continues from all the trauma. May God hold you close as you process it all. ❤
Wow’ God is good and is no doubt is guiding you by his spirit by answering prayer for you all ❤take care of yourself!!
‼️You DO NOT always have a temperature with any infection‼️
They can present in sooooo many ways.
Olive leaf extract is a known herb to treat chronic and antibiotic resistant urinary tract infections. Good luck to you both!
Из высоких гор Кавказа вам желаю счастья ✊✊🤲
Dan I encourage you to keep up on your health. Your important to the family. Everyone around you love you.❤❤❤❤
So very happy to see you being able to take this video.
Thank God!! 😊

🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😊😍
❤❤❤❤ love and prayers to you today and everyday. Hold him close and he will hold you closer.
My daughter is a paraplegic and we are in the hospital right now for a UTI. I will be praying for you guys ❤
We love you guys watching for you a long time! ❤😊 Healing and Blessings😊
Thats because nothing stops him.... He is a good soul and we all like a good battler and great husband and Dad ❤
Thank God,for all of his blessings to you and your family. You guys are Awesome!

Thank you for sharing your lives. God is truly blessing your family.
