  • On Sunday, we spent time in the garden doing maintenance on the railway - re-ballisting the track as the ground settles. Between this, we got some running shots of the trains from both ground level and the house.
    The HSBA Garden Railway is a G Scale garden layout based in Jersey, Channel Islands. Over 138m (455ft) of track navigate through tunnels, over bridges and past the pond in a garden in the parish of St. Mary.

    Thankyou for getting the whole layout. I don't like the ones where you cannot see all of it. Great layout

      Thanks for watching! Yeah, I sometimes feel the same then other times I enjoy the close up shots. Maybe I do need to do a better job of balancing them.

    Lovely, looking better all the time. What is the short clear plastic tunnel close to one of the bridges for?

      It's mesh wire - it' kept one of the plants during the summer off the rails as it grew bigger/quicker than we expected. Unfortunately, the ground cover plant took over the rails below so now we can't remove the mesh without a lot more work so it has stayed!

    Very tidy railway. Love seeing the “whizzy cranks” running!

    Very nice! What’s a whizzy crank?

      I use it to refer to the bar between the wheels on the red diesel loco at 6:47 because when it's moving at a reasonable speed they're whizzy (fast) :D

    very nice railway. I have so much work to do on mine after the winter, there has been so much settling and ground heave. As a question, what are you using for the platforms?

      Many thanks! We've been lucky this winter with it being fairly dry so been outside a lot.
      It's some offcuts of the tiles/paving used on the raised patio area. We has some left over so cut them into strips. They work well but because they're ceramic I'm worried about drilling into them to add station lights! The curved station is simply cement held in with grass edging.

      You can get ceramic drills, they're like a blade, with a curved pointed design. Take it slowly, set on hammer but press gently. Use a little bit of water to lubricate while drilling. Use a test piece before to get the hang of it. If drilling a large hole start with a smaller diameter. Hope that helps, good luck!

    Does the LGB engine cleaner work pretty well?

    • @hsbagardenrailway
      @hsbagardenrailway  Год назад

      Short answer - yes it does! I'm planning a review video on it to show more of how it works. Is there anything you're interested in my covering in the video?

      @@hsbagardenrailway I would say how it works and does it do a pretty good job for money since it not cheap. Because piko makes a track cleaner for half the price.
