Yep, they are straight forward, they don't sell stuff so it's easier to get an assessment and good price with compared with the rest.. Just but great at replying to questions but I found the answers for myself
@@revegacosmeticswould be great to hear your verdict on them too. I need to purchase your books. I have some of your templates and calculators which are fab BTW, but next to purchase is your ebooks. So glad I found you. Thank you for your continued advice and sharing 🙏
@@kerriedoesnails So glad you’ve found them useful :) I’m not sure I’ll get the chance to try them as I tend to work with the custom CPSR ones mentioned when I need them, but good to know they are there and will be helpful to others too :)
I'm completely new to this. I do understand what a CPSR is but what I found in one company was they required a stability test too. I did email them asking to explain but didn't get the question answered.
Yes you need to be stability testing all of your products. I’ve done videos about it. Worth watching my Product launch series as it takes you through all the processes necessary. :)
@@tanzidaify Yes, but which portal you report your products on depends on where you want to sell. The UK has a different one to the EU. There are various things that you need to do to sell skincare in the UK. I have an eBook that guides you through here revega.co.uk/collections/ebooks/products/ebook-how-to-legally-start-a-small-cosmetics-business-in-the-uk or you can find other videos on my channel that chat about it.
Thank for the valuable information❤❤❤. I am a starter with a small budget and want to make sure all regulation aspects are covered for my business. What is approx the average price for CPSR in EU - the last company you mentioned in your video.
I can’t quote on their behalf as it will vary depending what you want if it’s a custom product. They won’t charge you to quote, so it’s best to email them and ask based on what you need, they are very helpful :)
Hi! Great video! Can you please tell me if it is better to have a product which comes under cosmetics or under medicinal product as my product is kind of a borderline product. Im making a balm for dry skin (eczema, psoriasis etc) But im not sure how to advertise it. Is it better stay away from claiming it can help eczema etc as that would make it medicinal? What would you say about this as i read there are charges for each herbal ingredient? I hope im making sense. But just really want to know pros and cons of the categories and if i do keep under cosmetics, then what are my limitations (eg. can i put piks of eczema clearing, as i have made balms for my daughter for her eczema) Any direction would be much appreciated.
Hi, you cannot make any claims unless your product has gone through proper claims testing. Ceway.eu would be able to guide you further on that, but it would be an expensive and lengthy process. As a small cosmetics brand you are best sticking to just having a cosmetic and make no claims. I’m not sure what you mean about charges? Do you mean additional charges per variant for the CPSR? In which case yes, there will be a base price and then any variations cost more. You can put pictures and your customers can write reviews with pictures and say what they like, but you cannot claim that the product does anything specific unless you’ve had the tests and proof.
Thank you so much for getting back! Ive just subscribed 😊. How about saying things like for dry skin and people probe to eczema, psoriasis? Will this again be making a claim and should one just write for dry skin?
Are you talking about products you buy or the ingredients you’re using to make products. Ingredients with nano particles usually have (nano) in brackets as part of the name. If unsure your safety assessor should be able to advise you.
Hi, if the product is formulated by a qualified cosmetic chemist, do they still need to get the Safety assessment report from one of these companies? please
They still need a safety report yes, but not necessarily from one of these companies, if they are qualified to assess their own formulation then I expect they could. I'm not sure on the rules surrounding assessing your own formulations, but they'd obviously need the relevant qualifications.
Another vote here for MAF…very reasonable and very flexible assessments.

Good to know about other companies. I use MAF cosmetics, super quick and affordable for new small businesses
Thanks for the recommendation. Not seen them before.

I love your videos, I wanted to ask where can I get distilled water in the uk for cosmetic formulation
I get mine from Nordchem.
Thank you for responding, i have been looking for where to get distilled water in the uk for my haircare line business
Nice video! Learning more about this everyday, can you please make a video about companies who make stability and challenging tests?
Many of the same labs who offer CPSRs will do this for you. Have a look at Ceway.eu
Hi there
Is cpnp and cpsr are the same thing?
Thank you
No. CPNP is the EU cosmetic notification portal. CPSR is a cosmetic product safety report.
So I have to do both to start? And for each product?
Thank you for your quick reaponse.
