‘ walking is the thinking man’s running “ , love it . I’ll definitely remember and use that one . I hope you made the toilet , I’m of that age too ,and the combination of coffee and cold weather can play havoc with you . Cheers Tim and my best wishes from 🦘🇦🇺
'It's not going to win any awards for aesthetics I don't think, well actually, it probably will' 🤣Funny and informative as always mate, I'll just need to find an excuse to get up there myself.
Nice one Tim! Think it’ll look better when the trees have grown up and the grass is coming through. All a bit cold and grey atm. I’m assuming the walk to the airport is more direct than going round on the road (which is what Google maps told me to do)?
You’re right it’ll look more attractive fairly soon. I honestly couldn’t find the direct walking route which does exist. Apparently it takes 12 minutes to walk from station to terminal. Interestingly, there are proposals to relocate the terminal to nearer the station. I thought I was following the signs but I ended up at the road and went round in a circle. Great stuff for a travel enthusiast!
Brilliant video Tim, i appear to have aimlessly wandered into a few of your shots 😆, apologies. Was great to meet you and create some content alongside you. I must say you have a poker face when it comes to bursting for the loo 🤣
Nice to see improved transport infrastructure, and yours is the first video I've seen :) though it looked like some other people videoing.. did you find the terminal? How long a walk actually is it? A train+bus to reach it might end up being too much hassle if from the city a direct bus is available. Thanks again!
Thanks for watching and likewise, I’m pleased there is greater infrastructure in place. There is a walkway to the terminal but lost track of it. It’s 0.85 miles from the station to the airport terminal. Shuttle buses would be ideal and that may happen. As you say train+bus might be a hassle as there is for instance a bus service which leaves from Dingwall and goes direct to the airport (via the new station). There is talk of relocating the terminal closer to the railway station, we shall see. I hope the new station is a success and that the issues are just teething problems.
Did you manage to make it on the first day of opening ? 😄 I'm sure you were trying to convince yourself that walking was good 😄 Looks like a good spot to plane spot from at the end there !
I didn’t get an invite for the grand opening, even though I would have enhanced the event enormously. 😂😂😂 So I was there on the first day of revenue earning services. It’s a cracking spot for plane spotting - you’ll need to get yourself up here for a look. As for walking…it’s not too bad is it? 😂 Thanks for watching mate.
The station is a mile away from the airport, which is okay if you are fit enough to walk and pull your case behind you. There should be a shuttle bus by August this year
With the online stink I couldn't agree more. Its one thing that really dose annoy me about Scotland when ever there is a big infrastructure project that will actually improve connectivity and travel, everyone shouts it down..........until its done and then everyone shuts up and loves it. Does my head in, but i think I'm ranting now. 😅 Great video again Tim!
interesting. not sure how practical it is not being next to the airport like the hotel is but i suppose we will have to wait and see once it get more busy.
Thanks for watching mate. I think it will work well in the long run. There is consideration being given to moving the airport terminal to a location nearer the railway station. We shall see.
No improvement to the rolling stock north of the Central Belt. I took those trains every day from Inverness to Aberdeen. They were a disgrace back then and still they have the nerve to be running them.
I don't mind the 158s too much, maybe as that's what I'm used to on the Far North Line. What would you like to see utilised on routes north of the Central Belt? I had hoped some of the ex-TPE stock might have been taken up by Scotrail.
The tarmac path to the airport is very good construction and gives excellent views of Airside activities. It's wide enough for a car and has lighting. Hopefully toilets 🚻 can be installed as an afterthought ?
@Tim’s Travels Big new signs to direct to Terminal are about to be erected. My son used the new stop to get to Aberdeen, only £13. Only problem was the new train broke down 3 times by Keith ... 🤣
Deputy Dog announcing Inverness Airport arrival. 😂😂😂
Very enthusiastic eh! Thanks for watching mate.
Great video! I've subscribed!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks David. I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😁
Brilliant Video. Was really good to meet you! Hopefully, the station will be well used! Take care mate may see you again in your travels!
Great to meet you too. I look forward to watching your future videos.

Cheers Steve. Aye we need to get you up to the Highlands.
@@Timstravels01 Although Steve has a habit of getting off a station too early😁!
🤣 indeed!
Love it. WAKING is good, its like the thinking man running 🏃♀️ 🤣
😂 thanks Sharon. Glad you enjoyed it.

Great review
That’s very kind of you. Thanks for watching!

It was great to finally meet you Jamie. I managed to find my way onto your shots too so I think we’re even 😂.
Tim had probably reached the stage where he daren't have laughed too much 😁.
How did you know? 🤣

Another good vid Tim👍 Had to laugh at the guy doin the announcement for the train station…not a cheery chap 😆
Oh my days, he was doing the announcements on the return journey. I thought he couldn’t sound less interested if he tried! 🤣 Thanks for watching Joan.
Maybe once the trees have grown a bit, that'll double up as the toilets
🤣 I’ll need to hold on then!
They'll have to grow a lot with all those CCTV cameras along that path! 😁
Did you manage to make it on the first day of opening ?

Great vid 😊
Cheers!
Inverness Airport railway station is very nice. You should do Reston and Reading Green Park.
Cheers!
😊
It looks really amazing. Wish I could see it myself
It’s good to finally have it opened. I hope it becomes a useful addition to the network. Thanks so much for watching.

Shuttle bus will make a vast improvement.

There’s nothing like a good rant! It does seem to be a default position for some. Moan first, think later.
Brilliant video with great coverage Tim, I think every Airport should have rail links to them. I would rather take the train as my car.
Cheers mate! I agree, the more transport integration the better.
Living up in the wilds of Caithness I didn't hear about the new train station. Looks lovely, but no toilets!! What were they thinking? 🤯
Madness absolute madness!

Did you find a toilet ? 🚻
Or a large tree 🌳🤔
Great to see fast chargers in the car park , but you knew id say that 🙄
I managed to restrain myself. 😂 Regarding the chargers I suspect there’s an obligation to have them but I’m curious as to who will use them.
How long does the walk take?
15-20 minutes according to the Inverness Airport website. I got lost. 🤦♂️
@@Timstravels01 Thanks Tim
Turns out that so far, the only users of the airport station are vloggers!
It was quiet when I was there in terms of airport bound passengers but I’m sure that will improve.
