If someone from other part visited our gugga temple they will just call us tribal people( some prople from mindset of calling tribals not hi ndus) Because people dont understand that hinduism is not just worshipping Shivji vishnu etc. A person is still hindu if he has disbelief on Vedas.Hindu is a very broad identity. Its not one religion book. If it was then why we see variations even in epics like Ramayan and Mahabharat. Talking about tribals, in our himachal every tribe is following Hinduism except Lahul Spiti they follow Buddhism. Pahari states were saved from being direct control in mughals and Britishers. That saved us from the narrative of Tribals are not hindu. Gaddi tribe is the proudest Hindu community i have ever seen. I belong to a lower caste( OBC & SC) Lohars btw if people will start calling me manuwaadi. I wasnt even aware of manu smriti till last year. Recenty i asked my sharma and thakur friend that why sharma eat non veg u are doing paap. Im veg so yaaaa. They just came over me telling me how can you promote caste system everyone has right to eat worship anything they want. That really changedy perspective. Peace

Dalits and Adivasis were kept out of this order and asked to live in the forests. They were never even considered part of Hindu society. So they don't follow any Hindu customs. Can't talk about dalits, but go to any Adivasi village, they don't worship Hindu goddesses. They worship mountains (Marang Buru for Santhalis and Hos) or their forefathers (Gond tribes). Tribals are more ancient and hard core Hindus than us. They have been inhabitants of Bharat since very long. Nobody can separate them from Hindus. The Christian missionaries gave temptations to these people to convert them. Still they are still sticking to Hinduism. The political parties are trying to misguide them for their political interests.
