Really good to understand as always! Is climbing a tree using leg loops (double figure 8) and friction hitch (Blake's hitch) and a simple foot ascender?
@BartlettArboristSupply So, i don't earn much money. I searched almost every youtube video and i have got into one that i learned that i can ascend/descend with only rope. So, there is some double figure of 8 knot there for the leg loops (instead of harness) and the rest of line like you i learned that i should tie there a Blake's Hitch as a friction knot to the main line to hold my weight. And also i've got the foot ascender. And is it worth it?
Yes, you can accomplish most (if not, all) jobs with only using a rope, harness, and a work positioning lanyard. Depending on how long you intend on spending aloft, using a rope harness is not the ideal route to go, there are cheaper tree climbing harnesses on the market that will allow better comfort to that of a rope. Yes, the Blake's hitch is your friction hitch that will keep you in a suspended position while working. The foot ascender on a traditional closed system might assist a bit, but not by much.
Great tip. Great angle. You, the tree, the chainsaw and the gear in front of the woods. Perfect!
I will also whip a bite around to set up the choke with one whip rather than two.
Another great tip I just picked that one up from a coworker
Brother, that’s a good tip! Thanks!
