    He couldn't go to school because he overstayed his visa and by the time he got his stay, he was working and may have scheduling conflict. They always say there are lot of jobs here but you can't get any good job without legal working papers. They e-verify at a lot of employment places. One cannot survive on the minimum wages. It will look a lot when converted to Cedis. Four children and warehouse job, that is tough. Ghana is difficult but not a bad place, it's our leaders who are failing us.

    18years without seeing parents, is it normal? But he will go and bury then when they are no more!
    The greatest gift he could give to his kids is to let them see their grandparents, know their roots and let that shape them.
    Yeah he will spend more than ten thousand dollars to take them home but it's worth it.
    If he stays abroad and listen to people, he will never know how much Ghana has changed or developed.
    Visiting Ghana make you think straight and make better decisions.

      @@benbo7042 You are right to the point. In addition communication is a key ingredient to a long lasting marriage. Every marriage has its ups & downs. Many times our people want to be the absolute rulers in the house. Some of us carry the old ways to the western world. Some of our cultural practices & social mores are outdated but unfortunately some of us cling to them. We are the lord, master & ruler in our “little” castle. That’s the main reason marriages fail outside Ghana, especially in the west. We fear the emancipation of the women.

    Texas weather is never like Ghana . Even in the summer when it gets really hot you don’t sweat, but Ghana weather is hot and humid and you sweat a lot. Besides , in Texas it gets extremely cold and freezes from November to March, and snows . In Ghana you don’t see extreme cold and snow . So let’s correct ourselves from this wrong assumption.

    The taxation system has to change. Import duties at points of entry must be reduced. Some of the collections go into private pockets instead of going to the government. Ghana must encourage private investment from Ghanaians abroad. One of the tenets that hold us back is corruption (it’s easy said than done). I have been away from home for a little over 50 years. I tried 2 businesses in Ghana in early 80s & mid-90s. They all failed. Part was my fault & also from those assigned to work on my behalf. I can’t offer any solutions. The politicians, elites, intellectuals & average citizens know what ails the country. Who is going to take the mantle? Until we accept collective responsibility the country will be at a standstill.

      Port taxes, my brother, say that again. I have sent only two vehicles to Ghana in 40 years, but it could have been double digits if it weren't for the exorbitant taxes! Just got rid of an SUV yesterday that I dared not ship to Ghana.

      African Americans like to explore, at least some that I know, it will be disappointing if the wife is the problem but I truly don’t believe that, I think it’s just him but he needs to have a change of mind cos his parents are still in Ghana and he needs to visit them and the kids have to connect to the motherland

    • @missware2677
      @missware2677 Год назад +15

      @@nanakay7187 that's good but giving 💯 of himself to his wife and kids without visiting his parents for 18 good years is not a balanced life. A Ghanaian wife will never let this happen especially when you have the means to do it. His parents haven't met his wife and 4 kids and he thinks it's funny .
      Sending them money is NOT enough, doesn't the wife visit her family. The truth is that when African men marry Americans they become submissive and worship them, the women run the show otherwise this wouldn't happen . Don't alienate yourself from your extended family because of marriage because divorce can happen at anytime
      I'm in Ghana visiting my family that's why I'm talking 😂

    This man is stuck abroad and doesn’t know what’s going on in Ghana . How could you live your life for just your wife and children? That’s the problem of those who cannot come home with meaningful capital to start their own lives . You’re a slave if you continue to hype abroad.
