No band in rock history has ever managed to replace their lost lead singer as gracefully as Big Big Train. May David Longdon RIP. May the new singer and the band live on forever more.
Downloaded the new bandcamp release today. David's death was huge loss but they took their time to find the right guy. Alberto is perfect, a truly great singer in his own right.
It's very difficult question. I don't know... David had some kind of brightness... He was the only one... Gregory saved the band. Thank him very much!.. I guess the band should be doing something new, something other. The David Longdon's time is over... RIP David.
Mr. Longdon was not just a lead singer. He was not just a front man. He was the soul of each of songs of the band that he singed. He was a conductor of the band.
The fact that i will seeing this awesome band in New Jersey this week 3/2 still hasnt sunk in. Been a fan for a long, long time. Phenomenal is all i can say. Love them!
So emotional - amazing performance. I miss David so much. But Alberto is doing a wonderful job. Not the same, but very deserving of his place in this amazing band ❤
❤❤❤ The musicians on the stage may be very different from the ones that were there the first time I saw this song performed, but the music is the same, the feeling is the same, the goosebumps are still the same. Every. Time.
Just spectacular -- superb performances across the board. And as much as we all miss David, I believe the band can best honor his memory by keeping the music alive, as he said he wanted.
OMG (as the kids say).. what an emotional overload. Beautiful and fantastic performance proving that the Prog Genre is Alive And Kicking! Thank you BBT…
Is there a better live recording featuring great composing, singing and performance....I doubt it. And Big Big Train is blessed with stellar video production as well as the best mixed live sound.
As a friend of the late Judy Dyble, who of course collaborated with David, I must agree that Alberto could never replace David, but does a magnificent job in his own right.
Everything is such high quality, kind of leaves me in awe. This may turn out to be a wonderful era for BBT. I am conflicted: I want them to be successful but right now even after all these years they still fly under the radar. I suspect there may be a lot of folks in NA who would love to seem them live.
I like that they didn't get a clone of David. I feel that would have been disrespectful, as it would appear they could simply replace him. Alberto brings his own vocal style, while keeping the essential feeling of the original material. Looking forward to hearing a full album with him on board. Bravo.
I love this tune! It's the first one I found on youtube when I first heard of the band and wanted to check them out. Still one of my favorites, plus I learned something about Venus I didn't know.
Very nice version, really. Alberto Bravin has got a very different voice, a different range from David's, he's noticeable lower in range... I wonder how it'll go for certain songs.. No mention of the members of the brass section ? The use of a brass section on some songs by BBT was something I didn't expect to like and really, it bring something I like.... Because the brass music in England (which I discoverfed a bit many years ago with the movie Brass) isn't anything like what I'm used to from French brass bands (o German ones, btw) ... They're used for playing some melancholy music. It's such a beautiful piece of music... Brillantly performed.
This is a stupendous performance! Vocals are tight, brass band first rate (despite the lack of the euphonium), and the band top notch. This song almost always makes me tear up just a bit, and hearing this version was no exception.
What a wonderful performance! I love the terrific variety and energy that BBT bring to their live performance, in addition to their superlative musical skills. Quite brilliant!
Sorry but personally, nothing against the guy but the new vocalists is a bit too ordinary. Still haven't brought the last two albums yet, might not, got all the others but I might be out from now on. Think the best Big Big Train is in the past. Love Ricard, loved Beardfish but the next one will have to be special to keep me interested.

That's fucking top tier! In a world of chicken and beer this band is definitely wine and cheese!
What an amazing version of this song. I love this band so much.
They are amazing.
Nuova vita ai Big Big Train... David R.I.P. . Alberto solo tu potevi riuscire in un'impresa così delicata! Bravi tutti♥
Just magic, brings a tear to the eye, bravo!
Você tá louco mano, isso aqui é fora de contexto de tão sensacional, de tão grandioso.
É a maior banda de prog do planeta

❤❤big big train❤❤ a guiding light for ( british) new prog rock

your right..other than the previously released live versions that is.
Hats off to Clare Lindley.
But I do it to Rachel Hall too.
@@Drifter21031971 - Oh, for sure. She is my favorite! The violin in Hedgerow is amazing. Nobody could do it better than Rachel.
So enjoy the rhythm and melody.
Wow, simply amazing! Simply brought me to tears

Love the new lineup. Maybe it's me, but hope Alberto is louder in the mix for future releases.
What a LIVE MASTERPIECE!
Yes I cried! BBT do this to me all the time. Magnificent, love this song.

A beautiful performance of a beautiful song.
Bravo Alberto! W i Big Big Train
And where did Greg ever get that green Rickenbacker??? Beautiful! 😀
Gorgeous, sounds magnificent but then it is Mr Spawton! Digging, what I am guessing is Musicman double neck too.
@@grahamnunn8998 Yes! I think I've only seen John Petrucci (Dream Theater) with one of those double necks before!
So beautiful! ❤️ ❤️

It starts out like that decades old ad for Hovis bread. 😂
I can’t wait till august 26th. What a great band!
Superb performance of a sublime song
Good job!!❤❤❤

great song and performance!
Is it some special edition of my favourit bass Rickenbacker? 🙃
I love this tune! It's the first one I found on youtube when I first heard of the band and wanted to check them out. Still one of my favorites, plus I learned something about Venus I didn't know.
The first one I heard was The Underfall Yard. It's their masterpiece.
@@jean-philippeperetti8463 Agreed, among many masterpieces they've created.
@@jreid641 First song I heard was Judas Unrepentant. That's all it took.

Wonderful band, wonderful version. Hope to see a dvd from them featuring the current band soon. Got any more information ?
What a wonderful performance! I love the terrific variety and energy that BBT bring to their live performance, in addition to their superlative musical skills. Quite brilliant!
Is that green Ric' the most awesome bass ever in the history of guitars? Awwww....
Excelente canción, gracias BBT!! Saludos desde México!!
a quand un concert en france après l annulation septembre 2022
Bravo! Love the big swelling flourish at the end when Alberto hits the keys.
Magic.
Biiiig Big Big Train favourite this one. ☀️☀️🚂
Stunning ! we will never forget David, but what a great fit Alberto has become.
Beautiful. Thanks.
Lost for words
Magical!
Bravo Alberto!! Buon Prog ti faccia
Anyone...please...what time is this song?
Verses may be in 15/8, not sure.

🤗 'promo sm'
The new singer isnt good enough
Dump the brass and get a couple of Mellotrons. This sounds like a colliery brass band. 😖
That’s the idea. They already have Mellotrons.
