As engineers I am surprised that they had absolutely no consideration on the squish item test. Structures are made to have flex in them so they don't snap, so I don't know why they thought the most rigid item would be the most supportive and the most flexible item would CRACK the earliest
Now we know why they're youtubers and not engineers.

The moment I heard Rhett pick the cassava, I knew he was gonna be in for a bad time. Cassava roots/tubers are SUPER fragile, like carrots as Link assessed.
But I didn't know a pomegranate was so resilient, holy cannoli.
Im really sissapointed in Rhett. The master of logical thinking while throwing darts at the map, to choose an empty shell over a squishy fruit.

The reason the pomegranate was so much “stronger” probably has to do with how it has much more give than the nuts.
Nuts don't have much give, and don't ask me how I know.
And surface area
And it being hollow.
Its fibrous too so the stress is distributed more evenly

Great to see local Bangladeshi fruits in the last round. I didn't know jackfruit were available in America which is our national fruit. We love eating jackfruit together with milk and puffed rice. Would love to see you guys try a lot of Bangladeshi food in the future. Cheers!!
It’s not common in many states but it’s becoming more and more popular, especially in the more tropical states.
It's become fairly popular here as a vegan alternative to pulled pork in dishes
Jackfruit is way common in South America. When ripe the flesh pods are so ridiculously sweet, I take them to eat on my bike rides!

Hollow takes its meaning from the word Halloween, meaning filled with small objects such as a bag filled with candy or a pomegranate filled with Arils.
Whoever told you that was pulling your leg. “Hollow” and “Hallow” are two diff words, one being an empty space and the other something revered or made holy. “Halloween” came from “All Hallows’ Eve” when ppl dressed up as Saints the night before All Saints Day.

This was a fun one to watch. I agree with others in the comments though. You guys need to do an episode where you have a hydraulic press w/ readout and guess how much pressure it takes to crush certain objects/metals/etc. Score given is based on the difference from the guess made to the actual amount of it took to crush. Lowest combined score wins!.

As a stem major, it pains me sometimes how they test things because they leave so many variables within their methods of testing and then i remember that I'm watching this for entertainment and have to resist every urge to redo the tests 😂

It definitely did have a crack up at the top half, you see it break and split where the original crack was
Yeah it was definitely pre-cracked. Usually walnuts are indestructible.
I thought the way it was sitting wasn't ideal. I thought the seam should have been east to west rather than north to south.
