As a fan of Richard Tee, Donald Fagen, and Joe Zawinul, I love them all!! On this particular video I would have to say the small stone sounds the best!
Lovely sound 👌 I think all of them sounds really good, but it's just something magical with the Small Stone and Rhodes combination 🦄 I'll guess it's a matter of taste though 😁
I agree. I never used a Small Stone, but i did use a MXR 90 and 100. THEN, I bought a Castle Phaser III. I had it custom made by the manufacturer. It was a 19" rack mount. It could be used either mono or stereo. If i used the front inputs it was mono; however, Castel added an input and stereo outputs on the back of the unit. I ran it through the stereo PA. Great sound with the phasing shifting back and forth L/R between the speakers. Never should have sol it.
I like these all for different reasons. The Mu-Tron is really unique although I think there may be a power issue. I can hear some clicking in the background.
Honestly I feel like the real competition is between the bad stone and the mu-tron. MXR makes amazing everything but dare I say the phase 90 sounds slightly generic when compared. I've just heard that sound so much its just like the absolute baseline standard and nothing more. I LOVE the idea of the phase 99 but they're very hard to find. Also the mu-tron offers more control and it has this higher fidelity aspect to it somehow. Like cleaner with more headroom
I have a Bi phase (re edition by Mu tron), a small stone like this one and the Mxr phase 90 1974 re edition. The MXR is the best sounding in my opinion. It s sounds like 10cc (Im not in love) or Billie Joel (just the way you are).
had a similar click with my Octavider+. According to TGP is a very well-known mutron power pump issue. I contacted them about it last year and after about 300 days still had to hear from them. Never again I'm gonna buy something from mutron, they customer care is basically non existant

Reminds me of a steely Dan album.
The ehx small stone on keys or a synth is a wonderful combination. That Rhodes is something else, wow.
yes i love the smallstone too

Richard Tee had good taste!!:)
Still love the 90. Even thou I loved my old bi-phase. Didn't know they reissued the Mutron! sounds good (Y) thanks for the test
Thanks for watching :)
Great Video. All Sound Good 🎶
Glad you like it 🙏🎹
@@NicolasMelis You’re Welcome 😊
90's my generation 😍
I always prefer a Small Stone for guitar but in this example the MXR sounds like it was made for the Rhodes.
Love them both 😊
overall i liked the small stone the best, but for the end sequence i liked the mu-tron
Same here :) also have a sweet spot for the mxr :)

yes its the pedal clock… dont know why
I have the new compressor from empress and when I over powered it had similar artifacts. Try checking its power requirements.
@@dandelionboy7820 will do, thanks :)
How it go with this?

I think the Boss PH1 and the Modtone Atomic Phaser II sound reasonable too.
Will try them too!! Thanks 🎹😊
@@NicolasMelis I've been meaning to do the same myself. Cheers.

Yes i really like the Mxr too, also the smallstone with rhodes :)
And you play so well ! Respect !! ❤❤❤
@erwanmirabeau6751 thank you!! Appreciated 🎹
Phase 90!
Love them all 😊
My Phasor III has audible clicking too. Kinda sucks but other than that, I like it a lot.
Yes, mine does the clicking only when i play it with rhodes, on the nord stage for example it is not audible, weird :)

Where did you got the Mu-tron?

I think the EHX Small Stone sounds infinitely better with the Rhodes than the MXR and Mu-Tron
