No one connecting the dots of Trump saying both "I have territorial ambitions" and "I am building 10 new cities." Some new citieswill be in places that backed him like the Rust Belt because if he just brought factories/jobs back to the old cities, they are run by left-wingers who would either sabotage him or take the credit. And some new cities for new territories to make them permanently American, and ideally, eventually become red states.

I believe in self determination, and from what I’ve seen, the people of Canada and Greenland don’t want to join the US, and I doubt the people of Panama want to join us either considering their history as being essentially a puppet state for the USA. If the people wanted to join the USA, I’d be up for it but if the people don’t want to join us, we shouldn’t force them to. Allies and partners who rely on our protection-those who spend little on military matters yet remain aligned with us typically provide political support for us at the UN because they don't want to lose that favor. Those who purchase our weapons create a continuous relationship, binding them closer to us and thus creates major incentives for them to align with us. Do you know how difficult it is for a country that purchases weapons from one supplier is to break from them? We maintain bases worldwide because nations value the guarantee of American protection that these bases provide. In turn, they enable us to project global power and address potential threats before they escalate into larger problems. To enforce outcomes that benefit us. Good luck containing the PRC without Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, or Vietnam. Why should the PRC comply with our demands if we have no leverage over them? The world operates as a complex network, with America positioned at its center. Because that is the system we created. The US is already responsible for defending Greenland in return for having unlimited bases there. Only 1 US company has shown interest in mining in Greenland and has a license to do so. I haven't heard about any Chinese or Russian there, but many are from Canada, Australia and Denmark. The Inuit in Alaska is treated terrible in Alaska by the US. Trump's team paid off some poor alcoholics to show up in the airport in Greenland and gave them a MAGA hat to show Trump has support there. All fake as usual from MAGA. No smart people are crazy enough to want American control over Greenland. If they became American they would go from 5-6 weeks of paid vacation to 1-2. They would go from 9 months of paid maternity leave to a week or two paid or unpaid? They would go from totally free healthcare and education, to very expensive ones. Just getting picked up in an Ambulance could ruin you in the US, in Denmark it is totally free. You will go from a government you can trust, to a very corrupt one under the crazy criminal MAGAs. Who in their right mind would choose the US system over the Danish system, not many in Greenland if any. But then again who in their right mind would choose a stupid crazy corrupt criminal as President that is hated in most democratic countries in the world, apparently most of the US voters. There definitely is something very wrong with people that thought it was a good idea after the first 4 catastrophic years with him in control. If anyone will start WW3, it will be this maniac. Blue states should join Canada as people there have more in common with Canadians than the crazy MAGAs. Then they can keep their tax money instead of sending a large portion of it to the failing red states.. In Greenland most speak good English, like the rest of Denmark.
Oh Trump, you may want us, or need us, but you will never have us! And if you do want it, you will have to go through the maple forests where the snow speaks Canadian! Truth north strong and free. O7

The argument that a country isn't taking advantage of its resources as much as it could, therefore it should be part of a country that can, is very unfounded and absurd. The reosurces that belong to a country are for its people to enjoy. Not for Americans to take over and colonize/settle the land. And you can definitely expect the locals to stand up to their land being taken, their population being replaced and their cultures dying out.
Honestly the US is fine how it is in respect to borders. The UK specially would have words about losing such a historic partner in canada. Canada too has it's national identity and pride, it would not give up its independence🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🍁

@@Alexander-Craig0530 The UK's economy is higher than any US state except California, so you're wrong on this one Also, the reason why the UK has lower GDP per capita than nearly every US state is because poorer states like West Virginia and Louisiana have lower population than even London, and so therefore the money gets distributed among less people
You do realize that what you're suggesting is imperialism, right? How come the US was during the Cold War anti imperialist (not just anti communist), and yet here they want to play imperialist themselves. What's next, the Philippines?
If remember correctly, in the treaty that returned control of the canal to Panama is a clause that asserts that if things go south our military can go in and re-assert control of the canal zone.

He clearly has fallen for some kind of propaganda. The real reason is that the climate makes it too expensive, and it is against the Greenlandic people wishes.
As a dane who've studied economics, I would just like to say, the ignorance in this video is startling. Like, the amount of things said about Denmark and Greenland that's just flat out not true. Just to debunk a few points. - Denmark is more than capable of extracting ressources from Greenland. What's this bullshit about Denmark being behind technologically? The reason these ressources aren't being extracted, is because the greenlandic government doesn't want it to be extracted. - Secondly, why does this video make it sound like Greenland is some sort of colony or even that Denmark has complete control over Greenland. Greenland already have a large degree of autonomy, and the standing policy is, if Greenland ever wants full independance, they just need to vote for it. Multiple such votes have occurred, and Greenland has still not chosen to leave Denmark. - Greenland would never agree to become a part of the US if they wouldn't get to be a state. Greenland already has representation in the danish government, why would they ever choose a position where they get less autonomy? - Russia and China are not as involved in Greenland's economy as this video claims. That's straight up lies. - Speaking of economics, there's two very large reasons that economically, this whole thing wouldn't make sense. For one, Greenland would have no interest in american companies coming in and profitting off their ressources. That just doesn't make sense. Secondly, if the US ever did try to pull some stunt to annex Greenland, that would cost the US many of their largest trade partners and closest allies, ironically making the US more dependant on countries like China that can fill in the economic roles once filled by countries like Denmark and other NATO allies.
You know when I hear patriot Russians ,Chineses I think to myself we nothing like them but then I see videos like this and realize we not that different from the Russians, Chinese we’re just trying to get power not really caring of these ideas with democracy, freedom and thoughts of the international community
I never comment on anything. But damn this video is stupid. Denmark can do what they want. and does not do it, to respect the people living there. God this video is stupid

Some of our biggest criticisms of Russia and China are that they are forcibly expanding onto other territories (Ukraine and Taiwan) so it would be hypocritical to go against Russia and China while going on an expansionist agenda ourselves.
We literally built and paid for the Panama Canal, and on top of that we're the reason Panama is even a country. They're charging us to use a Canal we built, that's outrageous.

The Panama Canal was built over a hundred years ago and we got our money from that canal many times over when we did own it, it belongs to that country. Sure we helped them win independence but we also in turn forced the government to do our bidding. If Ukraine succeeds in pushing back Russia with our help, should we go and occupy Ukraine and take its resources instead?
Coercing and attacking our allies is about the dumbest thing imaginable. It would shatter any hopes of ever being trusted again.
So instead every single of our relationships are net loss for us that drain us. Those aren't friends.
@@JallyJam They absolutely are not. NATO is the foundation of our security, and we have numerous major non-NATO allies that further bolster it. If we aim to contain the PRC, the countries in the first island chain form the cornerstone of that strategy. If we aim to engage Russian Imperialism then it helps to have European partners.
Sanctions are effective because of the economic influence we wield through our alliances. The dollar is at the core of that. Do you think we endured as much hardship as Germany did when imposing sanctions on Russia? Want to restrict the PRC's access to advanced chips? If remember correctly, in the treaty that returned control of the canal to Panama is a clause that asserts that if things go south our military can go in and re-assert control of the canal zone.
that policy specify that if thing go south "millitarily" ergo if the canal is taken by military force by another country, then the USA has the right to send his military and reasert control over the canal, nothing else.
thats only if a different country were to try and take it
you guys could do it even if the treaty hadn't said that, but does it make it the right thing to do? not at all, by doing that americans will be thankfully, digging themselves a deeper grave in the world stage
Well...isn't Panama that other country trying to take our canal? 😂
@ 3/10 ragebait, not very convincing
I haven’t watched this video yet but this is either A - a Ideological test from Mr. Z to see how diverse ideologically his viewers are, or B - Half the people didn’t watch the vid
I think part of the point of this video is the cold perspective of global strategy. With little regard to morals or international laws. Purely from the perspective of the US’s global strategic interests.
Think the Great Power politics of the 1700s, 1800s and early 1900s.
It's both. Also a troll. The amount of tards frothing at the mouth believing that Trump is suddenly going imperialist is amazing and concerning, even though his history of foreign policy from last term is contradictory to this.
So basically stone cold stupidity?@@Cooldude-ko7ps

As a Russian: please, do not break your own country over some imperialist ambitions. Preserving democracy is impossible without preserving liberal international order, the order of cooperation and mutual respect of countries.
And if the democracy will not be preserved - almost all the progress made by humankind last 3 centuries is gone. The spirit of America and Europe itselves will be gone. Do not make that happen.
Euro's have been mad disrespectful towards their nanny empire for far too long. They can go fuck themselves.
Whatifalthist called, he wants Odin back
I like this video, but this trolling goes hard. 💀💀💀
If I was a US citizen and if you somehow became a presidential candidate, I would not vote for you
I think it’s ok to talk about territorial expansion. But using force to go about this is unacceptable.
Why? We made up that rule, and people break it anyway.
@@MonsieurDean But that doesn't mean we should as well, America is noble for its democratic republic ideals of a government by of the people, by the people, for the people. Your contents has been very good whether I agree or disagree, but this is not acceptable
@@MonsieurDeanthe same people that we in the West rightly criticise? We're so lucky in Europe to have a superpower as an ally that normally holds itself to moral standards, and to see that go out the window because the US feels threatened by China or Russia is ridiculous (even though you guys really shouldn't, US could beat both in a conflict at the same time if they needed to)

He literally said it’s the size of Lichtenstein bro. Be proud of your nation all you want but Denmark is no global power by any means
@chriswest4875 I am not Danish. I stopped watching after this.
@@thinkerian congratulations?

Denmark can do what they want. and does not do it, to respect the people living there.

Also fuck lets take greenland and give it all to americans. wtf
this video is completely meaningless, and if this stuff is what you actually believe, then you are criminally insane.
it may be somewhat hidden at the national scale and larger, but the direct analogy is some guy breaking into your house and saying "i have a gun, you don't, all your stuff is now mine, and you are my slave".
it's not at all clear that you will understand what's WRONG with that.
if so, Europe should Regain Africa.
Honestly some places in Africa need help, an example is Rhodesia (modern day Zimbabwe) before and after British rule
Africa and Europe both would actually probably benifit from that

No, America needs to let people keep their rights
I just hope these Trump "Threats" gets Europe to step up to actually try to integrate greenland more. Optimally it just becomes a sovereign state supported by the whole EU. They can still get that support and china protection without needing to turn to the US
