    Nicely done on not getting bit. Did you have to spend more time cleaning your gear (washing your suit) after?

      No I wasn’t stressed with this shark the bull sharks tend to be a lot more aggressive and a problem

    LOL James, I'd be looking out for its mum. That one is still chewing on your fish distracting you so mum can come have a chew. . Yelling at Great whites, you should swimming at them humming "nah. Nah, Nah Nah Dom dom dom " . I was laughing so hard wondering what you were going to do if that white inhaled your Ronston! 🤣*8hrs diving, saw no fish, only the great white - and people think Fish are Stupid LOL! Serious observation though, we were diving in an area that was like an aquarium - fish everywhere , but it was the dermal ban so could not touch none of them. Went Exploring, came back to the same area 15mins later - Ghost town. No Fish to be seen. Long Story short there was a 5m White that turned up. 😲Merry Christmas James, Dive safe, have fun!
    🍻👍👌🎄

    I thought you must have been near Port Stephens again at the start, as you've mentioned seeing lots of them there in the past, but it's not Port. Is this the NSW north coast ? In most of your videos you are spearing & cray fishing solo, often a bloody long way offshore. Makes me wonder why you don't use a shark shield? Are they worth the hassle for peace of mind in case Mr White or a school of big bronzies show up or is it you've just always done it this way so why change?

    • @jamessakker2117
      @jamessakker2117 8 месяцев назад +4

      Yeah it’s wide off Valla. I’m not a fan of shark shield’s from getting zapped to giving a false sense of security. I like to be hyper vigilant when I’m diving and it helps to detect predators and fish to shoot I see people talking on the surface all the time and that to me is unwise you need to have eye contact with sharks at all times. I saw this one in peripheral vision and was able to keep the gun between me and the shark and to be a little aggressive to it. White’s are usually cautious and wary around diver’s that are aggressive to them. We always look behind before leaving the bottom for sharks. I prefer solo diving so I can do whatever I feel like without stressing about other people if they are safe etc. I’ve had a lot of frightening encounters but not with white sharks mainly bulls and New Zealand bronze whalers. Thanks for watching!!

      @@jamessakker2117Do you believe Sharkshield’s work? You can wear one and have it switched off and turn it on when you really need to if you’re so concerned with getting zapped. There is the Fish02 model that can be clipped 1m below your dive float that has a 6.8m antenna, good if you only want protection at the surface and for stopping a breach instead of the short 2.2m FREEDOM7 version.

      @jamessakker2117 8 месяцев назад

      yeah I think they can keep some whalers from eating your fish they work on sharks that aren’t in full attack mode battery life is too short for my diving. I am not sure a shark at full speed will not attack you with a shark shield. If people want to wear them and they feel better that’s good too
