I am a fat 21-year-old girl and the first weeks at the gym made me feel uncomfortable. I couldn't stand being the only fat person in there, whereas all the girls looked like models and all the boys were fit and handsome (😍). Even the seniors looked better than me! Anyway, I kept going, while trying to tell myself that a fair amount of those people in the gym might be self-conscious too, to an extent. And as I kept going, I started to talk with them, ask them to check whether I was doing the exercises correctly when the trainer was busy helping someone else. They were all surprisingly so helpful and kind to me. Like, if you see them the first time, they might come off as shallow, arrogant people, but they're actually not! Now they often ask me how my diet is doing, giving me tips and motivation. By the way, I still hate seeing people going around naked.
@Leslie Perez Just keep going. I lost 30kgs or 66lbs for four months by exercise and doing a mixture of water fasting, intermittent fasting, and ketogenic diet, and also cycling for 1 hour everyday. Just search that about water fasting or intermittent fasting on youtube. Not only would you also lose weight, you would also feel good to yourself psychologically, emotionally, physically, and mentally. Losing weight is 70% diet and only 30% exercise, change your diet, eat less, and you would lose weight rapidly than just doing some intense workout without changing your eating habits.
Gym freaks are usually very nice. Cause most gym freaks go to the gym because they were once in your spot. So of course they'd be willing to help out. Gym freaks are mostly quite humble. People who care about their fitness are usually disciplined and that in turns makes them kind and polite in the long run.
I remember when I started going to the gym I got stuck under the weight on bench press and this giant guy came up and lifted it up with one hand then spotted me for the rest of my set telling me I could do it. I lost 30kgs in a 4 months period, I tried what you said but it's hard to keep up, I'm a student so there's no way I can fast for 16 hours, and intermittent fasting is not worth it, as since studies concluded even though you'll burn fat when fasting, you'll burn less of it throughout the rest of your day. And keto, its bullshit, yes it works, but you need carbs, it's the best source of energy, this diet came from the ideology of carbs will make you fat, but no enough carbs wont make you fat, and you can't keep up and live with it. I stay shredded all year long, I'm around 12% bodyfat, since lower is unhealthy.
Weird story that most ppl have been through in the gym, I was 14 and it was my first time being there, my mom dropped me off and told me to remember to take a shower, so I finished working out and hit the shower and oh my god do I regret walking in there. I walk in and couldn’t figure out how to turn on these awkward showers, and in came a guy who was at least 6.5 feet tall and casually walking around ass naked and I’m there not sure how to even turn the showers on, so I had no choice but to ask him how to do it, and when I did I had to keep a straight face while his junk was less than a foot away from my face because I was so short and he was tall. So now every time I hear water running I freeze and start getting quick flashbacks like a veteran from the Vietnam remembers his terrifying past.
