I absolutely loved the bit about the struggle. I talk about this with my kids all the time that no one is going to be perfect right away and we need to work at things. So often we see the highlight reels on social media and assume there was no struggle behind it. But most people that are an "overnight" success will tell you about the decade of work that led up to it. We need to normalize being a beginner and working at something instead of just focusing on the idea of natural talent being the only thing that's worth cultivating.
Yes! I love this. I was telling my son how I had a bad day the other day and how it’s normal to have bad days. I had to tell him and show him not everything will be easy and not everything will be smiles and sunshine.
I NEEDED THIS! I noticed that I started to believe struggling meant I was getting closer to success. I would feel ashamed if I wasn't busy or look down at myself if what I was doing wasn't "challenging enough". The other day a coach asked me "how can you make things easier?" and I was so shocked because I always thought if I wasn't struggling, then I wasn't going to succeed. Of course every path is going to have it's challenges, but it doesn't mean every single step you take has to be challenging.
12 seconds ago? 12 SECONDS AGO! Um YES. Thank you soo much. I love all of your videos and I was just binging them. You are such a beautiful soul!! Amazing!! I love this lifestyle content. it feeds my soul
I really wished I would’ve asked myself “Am I doing this because it looks good or because it feels good” before I went to college, took a job, got married, and started a family. I did all of this because that’s what I was told to do and told it will make me happy. But what I learned is that I was living my life for someone else which lead me to feel broken and depressed. Self care, helped me learn who I am, what I want, and what I need. I started asking myself, “Am I doing this because it looks good or because it feels good”. I’m glad to say I’m now doing things that feel good and I’m def happier! Thank you for this!
@@TrueStature I think so too! I thought I was all alone because we are shamed as women and mothers to think about the what if’s or what could’ve been but I’m learning now that it is normal and I believe my purpose is to help women find out who they are, what they want, and what they need after transitioning into motherhood.
Love this video. I have this HUGE mental resistance when im trying to change behaviors and habits and have healthy goals. I want to build a life I enjoy. I want to do things I enjoy. I struggle with depression and anxiety and bpd. And I often get stuck in my thoughts, latched on in just rumination cycles and intrusive thoughts. Was wondering if you could do a video specifically about how to start setting up new routines realistically with mental resistance and struggling with motivation due to depression and familiar, easy cycles???? I know I can set a schedule and set alarms but Im wondering more mental tricks to keep myself on a growth journey, the quote that started this video helped me think some and feel grounded. Would love to see it broken down more about how to start doing things and starting a new routine when struggling with resistance and depression?
I have the same struggles! Its nice to know I'm not alone. My mental resistance is huge but I find sometimes that setting really tiny tiny tasks for yourself helps to get the momentum going. If you break down whatever you're aiming to do into little tasks, and say do one tiny bit a day, it makes it feel more achievable.
Thank You for such a nice content. I really liked prioritizing tasks. It really stood up among all. Sometimes I really drained myself up completing entire todo list. Now I am going to focus on high priority tasks.
I've been feeling meh lately, just not feeling myself and I can't seem to find my contentment. But this video helped and gave me some ideas of how to get out of this rut. Thank you for offering content like this.
i really appreciate the work you put into your .... muchelle B-roll .... (I'll see myself out), but seriously, the stuff about expecting struggle is super useful to remember
I listened to this while making breakfast and I felt like I had a wise friend in the kitchen with me. Thank you for another great video. I liked that you mentioned the importance of connecting with people. That's something I'm going to work on.
Yesss, since I started really planning my self-care activities, taking time to recharge, I noticed that my productivity/motivational level for other things increased. I feel calmer & in peace. I would recommend anyone to take more breaks and really reward yourself.
This made me realize I ask myself the same questions everyday that go unanswered and it drives me crazy. Makes me depressed and anxious. But they are questions that can never be answered. How do I accept that I'll never know or understand? I am the type to think about things obsessively. But awareness is the first step
Thank you for the wonderful reminder about struggle being part of the process. As a serial Type A individual, I treat my life and habit systems as tasks - that if I don't finish, I would beat myself up for mentally. Little do I know this deters me from changing my behaviour. So thank you!
I'm constantly feeling that I'm struggling and that the life I'm trying to get to isn't going to be obtainable. Constantly having the feeling that I should be doing more or aiming for more. But when I see things through other successful people on the internet struggling as well or telling that they have, it makes things feel different. Like its possible to succeed after struggles and failures. Sometimes hard to believe they've struggled as well but we never know anyone else's story. They could have gone through a lot to get where they are.
So appreciated listening to your viewpoint on struggle!! We have been indoctrinated to think struggling means something if off or one is not on their purpose! It is part of becoming a new being... one who creates their intended goal!! Hope many listen to this episode and really take in the wisdom shared ✨ Thank you 🤗
Such an amazing video, it's very educational. What a great way to start of my morning routine here in Malaysia. I hope that everyone is doing well and remember to stay positive 🍵😄✨
All of this advice was so helpful, thank you so much for this! 💖 Also, the quotes were awesome - I kept pausing to write them down because I love collecting quotes! 😄 Thanks for another wonderful video lovely! ✨
Hi! Want to let your body and nervous system learn? As in practising the Feldenkrais method as mentioned in the book of Norman Doidge? I am a Feldenkrais practitioner and I can give you a personalized lesson. Cheers, Sousan
This video came at the right time. Im filming my experience quitting alcohol and all these other things are coming up for me. How else am I gonna fill up my time? Lots of laying on the couch lately.
I absolutely loved your reminder about investing into quality relationships. It certainly helps me to create happiness and fulfillment. It’s madness to realize that we have so much on our plates that we lose the quiet but yet such important side of it. I will aim to prioritize it for 2021. Thank you for inspiring! 💕
Just woke up in the UK and saw the notification for this video - it made me so excited! I love all your content, thank you for bringing so much joy and motivation into my life 💖
I took your class to start this year on the right foot and it was amazing! It did take me almost a whole day to read my journal entries but it was so worth it! Thank you, Michelle!

Wow. Awesome of you to share your story about that. I think a lot of women have had your same struggle.

I am glad that you still here with us in 2021.. we love you💕💞
I'd like to start incorporating the first habit, "answer yourself", into my life.
Powerful! I am thinking of incorporating it with morning pages 🤔✨
I want to too! I think if I learned to just answer, I would be less stressed and my mind would be able to let it go instead of harboring on it.
I'm rereading Atomic Habits and I think learning how to create better systems is all part of changing your mindset.
