  • Hey guys! Today I am sharing our biggest haul yet. We have some fun things planned for our family and summer is quickly approaching so we decided to stock up on some of our favorites and pick up a few special items to get us outdoors and having fun.
This haul consists of grocery and non grocery items so the total does not reflect just what we spent on food for our family of 7. This is also not our typical one month stock up haul either. We will only need to buy fresh items and anything that is needed for a specific recipe for May & June!
Trader Joe's Total $155.48 (all grocery)
Dollar Tree Total $34 (all grocery)
    Sam's Club Total $366.69 ($170.70 on groceries)
Costco Total $540.59 ($376.47 on groceries)
Target Total $516.98 ($422.96 on groceries)
HEB Total $151.94 ($100.45 on groceries)
Walmart Total $318.20 ($82.81 on groceries)
    Grand Total $2,083.88 ( $1,342.87 on groceries)

Favorite thing that’s come from this whole pandemic is... I have been home more with my 80 year old grandparents that I live with. I was in a healthcare program in college (I graduated yesterday May 2nd, virtually 🙂). I help them, shop for them so they don’t have to be out, clean for them, anything they need. 💕

My favorite this is my husband being home he's a teacher and commutes 3 hours total a day so having him home is so special. We used to work together so spending all this time together again is great we also have a 3 month old and three year old so I am loving all the help plus I get to sleep again.

My favorite thing to come out of this is knowing my children for the last few months are home safe with me with the shootings and bullying at schools I'm always anxious when there at school and the break from that feeling has been really nice

The best thing that has come out of this for me is... really feeling like I’m helping people and keeping everyone safe. I go and shop and deliver groceries to people through instacart and before all this I was like ok if people want to be lazy and pay me to go get the groceries I will. But now I feel so different about it cause I feel like I’ve saved so many mommas from having to expose their kids and their selves. I’ve helped elderly people from having to get out. So definitely proud for what I do and grateful that I can help people and it’s helped me stay employed.

I love long videos. I watch them for background noise while I work. My Favorite thing about this situation we have been in has been 1. My husband works 85 hour work weeks and he has been off with us during all of this. We have never been closer and the kids are soaking it all up. It is easier when I can look at the positivity through their eyes. 2. Even though there has been so much negative, there has also been so much good. People just stepping up and being kind to others. Helping each other. That is inspiring and gives me hope!

10 years ago we sold our house and moved away from my beautiful raised bed garden. I have been waiting 10 years for a garden. We have six kids and are usually very busy with sports during gardening season and it has not been a priority. Because we have nowhere to go after work, my husband and son finally built me a garden. It is beautiful and makes me very happy.

I think spending time with my 2 year old grandson has been priceless. My husband has been ill and had 2 surgeries in the month of March. Plus I had to finally place my mom in an Alzheimer’s facility also in March. Then Covid hit and my mom has been quarantined and we can only visit her thru the windows. I miss her, so a lot of negativity surrounds me too. But at the end of the day that huge hug my Noah gives me is so worth everything. He is my sunshine in my life always!!!!

Like you the kids n I have been staying home and my husband goes to work, while some days he is able to work from home alot of days he cant. His job keeps him in the grocery stores (mostly behind the scenes n on the roofs) he fixes the fridges n freezers in the stores. Keeps them going. We do alot of school work n workbooks together n we play alot of games. I am so grateful to have not lost anyone to this virus. My heart breaks for those who have. We will continue to stay at home n help keep people safe. God bless you n your beautiful family.

My favorite thing that has come from this is sense of community. We've been taking daily walks and people are out and talking to each other, people driving will smile and wave to us, kids are out riding bikes. My oldest is learning to ride her bike and that means lots of falls. Three times in the past week, a person we don't know ran to help her after falling. These things used to be common when I was a kid, so it's great to see it coming back and gives me hope for the good that can come from this crisis.

There are plenty of negatives that I could ramble on for days however the positives are priceless. I realize that my hubby of 18 years is my protector. I know some people maybe thinking"really it took a pandemic for you to notice that" no. Let me explain. He has every underlying condition and he will still gets up and goes to work a 12hr shift for 7 days straight and all for his family to eat. I know a lot of men may do the same but when he is sick or well he just goes and never complains. He has started cooking more meals and has started to do more e-learning with our 4th grader. I realize that while I may fuss and get frustrated with my family from time to time, they are a pretty cool bunch of people. I fell in love with my hubby all over again during this pandemic and I hold our 3 babies closer than ever. Im so thankful to have them in my space.❤

My favorite thing about staying home is how simple things became apart of life again! Life gets so crazy and busy and it's good for everyone to slow down and enjoy the simple things!

My favorite thing that has come out of "staying home" is more rest time, and time to get things done that there isn't normally time for!

My favorite thing that has come out of this situation is the time I’m getting to spend with my family. I have four kids as well and life happens, it becomes routine sometimes. It’s been so nice to have them home, to be the one to teach them, and watch them experience new things. My husband and I have also found a new respect for each other through this. We are closer to each other now then we have been in the past 14 years.

My favourite thing about this situation is my 21 year old son is always home with us. As you children get older they spend less time at home and since he only has one more year of school, this time is so precious. ♥️

My life hasn't changed much because I am retired and stay at home more than some. I just wish everyone would see this as an opportunity to slow down, breathe, spend precious time with family, get those projects done that I hear everyone complaining about never having the time to do. Spend time to reflect on how precious life is and be thankful if your family is healthy and safe at home. I am so thankful my children and grandchildren who all live in different states are healthy and happy. There is always something to be thankful for even in the worst situations. Keep a gratitude journal, it helps. Be kind. Thank you Vanessa for entertaining us, being positive and for your generosity. God Bless you all and be safe.

The blessing that came out of this quarantine is that my husband and I have been able to have our beautiful goddaughter with us 6 days out of the week and we have even been involved in her home schooling since school has been out for the rest of the school year. My husband and I was were never blessed to have our own children so having our Goddaughter every single day is truly a blessing for us. To have her here changes how we sit at the dinner table as a little family (as she calls it) is wonderful. We have been able to do lots of fun things at home with her. My husband and her do lots of baking together, we have enjoyed crafts and just movie nights and other activities. She has been able to fill a void in my heart that I have been feeling. She is 9 and her favorite thing to say is, "We are 3 hearts and one happy family". I know it is going to be super hard when the time comes that she has to go home with her mom but for the next 3 to 4 months we are going to continue to enjoy having her here with us.
My husband said KUDOS to you for shopping at HEB since he is a Dept Mgr at an HEB in San Antonio. 👍👨‍👩‍👧

I do homemade pizza too! It is so good! We have actually started parbaking them and freezing them, so when you want a pizza you just take a crust out of the freezer and put on your toppings and cook it for 10-15 minutes. Happy cooking!

Jessica H - You can also pop them on the grill to cook for summer time. I actually partake my crust on the bbq, just a short time on each side and then pop them in the freezer. These also make a great addition to a pizza gift basket for friends who are having a baby or any other
reason. Then they can either bake them or put them back on the grill to finish off with the toppings.

My favorite thing that has come out of this situation is that we spend so much more time together, we were not running to sports or any other events that we usually do in the spring. Instead we have been taking walks or bike rides, playing in the backyard...grilling. Things that we never “had time for”. Also I love that we have been saving so much money!!

The thing we are most thankful for is to be able to spend quality time with our newborn baby! He was born in February right before quarantine happened! While it is scary to have everything going on, we are so thankful to have this time to stay home and snuggle and love on him 💕

What a Blessing for Someone so Generous of You. My favorite thing most to Me is My Relationship with God. When all this first started I was so afraid. But once I turned it all over to God I had this Peace come over Me and I hadn't felt that in awhile I think We all take so much for granted these days. Take Care and God Bless.

I was all about being a Bugle witch when I was a kid 🤣! I feel like you’re the only RUclipsr that’s ever admitted there is no container that keeps food hot in a lunchbox. I see all these little Thermoses and foil wrapped “hot foods” and want to know what the secret is because my kids come home and complain that the food is cold. I even tried the boiling water trick.
