As for another Asian-American actress or Asian American representation in film in the 2000s, the only one I can think of is Jaclyn Ngan who played a role in the film _The Freedom Writers_ based on the real-life experiences of the kids who wrote The Freedom Writer's Diary; however, Jaclyn Ngan is of Chinese and Filipino descent, not Vietnamese. There is more than Chinese under the umbrella "Asian" and it would be nice to have some larger films depicting these cultures.
My high school experience was unremarkable, maybe because of a rumour that had started when I was homeschooled through middle school. I was very aggressive through elementary school, so when I didnt show up for middle school, rumours that I beat someone up and for expelled started, and they carried over to when I showed back up for 9th grade XD. It's interesting that you have those traditional movies that you watch when I went to school. When summer vacation was just starting to begin and I got off school I will pop in my VHS tape of recess schools out. Every time at the last day of school I would get home decompress and pop in recess schools out. Edit : 2:46 I never understood why teachers and the whole school system gate keeps the bathroom. At my school you only had three times to use the bathroom throughout half the year. And if you run out of your bathroom passes I guess you could call it. You have to be held at after school detention yeah imagine going to detention for using the bathroom. And then at the second part of the semester they reset so now you have three times to use the bathroom for the rest of the school year.
I LIVE for 2000 fashions. I miss them so much, although I dont miss the obsession with having to be the skinniest at all times to have the clothes just right.

I feel bad for people who don't have this nostalgic instant classic memory of Mean Girls. Loving these sleepover energy movies so far, I miss these movies!
In my first year of HS i was really nice to this girl and she told me to be part of her group of friends who were all really pretty girls. i just kinda sat next to them and listened to them talk about fashion & boys, they read magazines during breaks and did each other's makeup. However, these girls were not dumb, they were really good students like me, so i guess that's why they accepted me as part of their study group. Frankly, it was a very boring experience being a member of 'the plastics', they definitely talked crap about each other and then acted like besties so that made me uncomfortable as i was bullied a lot in primary school. If they ever said something nasty about me, i never knew but it was at the back of my mind like, if they act like this with each other, what will they do to me? i started hanging out with the metalheads and the introvert girls who became my real friends. To be fair, there wasn't a lot of drama with groups back then, we were too focused on getting good grades. 🤷

I was probably just a little bit to young to watch this movie when it came out as I was only 6 1/2 when it came out but I loved it then and I love it now
It's interesting that you have those traditional movies that you watch when I went to school. When summer vacation was just starting to begin and I got off school I will pop in my VHS tape of recess schools out. Every time at the last day of school I would get home decompress and pop in recess schools out.
Edit : 2:46 I never understood why teachers and the whole school system gate keeps the bathroom. At my school you only had three times to use the bathroom throughout half the year. And if you run out of your bathroom passes I guess you could call it. You have to be held at after school detention yeah imagine going to detention for using the bathroom.
And then at the second part of the semester they reset so now you have three times to use the bathroom for the rest of the school year.
I LIVE for 2000 fashions. I miss them so much, although I dont miss the obsession with having to be the skinniest at all times to have the clothes just right.
This is possibly the best teen movie. But the sequel was pretty bad.
It's unfortunate all the stuff that happened to Lindsay Lohan, hollywood can really fuck you up with all the substance abuse. She was really the it girl of film in the 90s and early 2000s
I loved this movie growing up, sadly the second movie is so trash.

Mean Girls is a huge thing here where i live too. I'm not it's target audience and even then, i have heard the "In wednesdays we wear pink", i have even weared pink in a wednesday. LOL.

In my first year of HS i was really nice to this girl and she told me to be part of her group of friends who were all really pretty girls. i just kinda sat next to them and listened to them talk about fashion & boys, they read magazines during breaks and did each other's makeup. However, these girls were not dumb, they were really good students like me, so i guess that's why they accepted me as part of their study group. Frankly, it was a very boring experience being a member of 'the plastics', they definitely talked crap about each other and then acted like besties so that made me uncomfortable as i was bullied a lot in primary school. If they ever said something nasty about me, i never knew but it was at the back of my mind like, if they act like this with each other, what will they do to me? i started hanging out with the metalheads and the introvert girls who became my real friends. To be fair, there wasn't a lot of drama with groups back then, we were too focused on getting good grades. 🤷
