I found the inclusion of tweezers to be awesome. I'm a welder and am constantly getting stuck with metal slivers. Plucking them with my bare fingers is challenging, tweezers have made a world of difference.
What I'd like to see from Civivi is to start making replacement clips. Interchangable wire and Ti clips sold as accesories, start dabbling with the entry-side of customizing.
I paid $65 for my Relic and I’m fine with that price. I prefer nitro-v over the usual D2 in the budget price range so $65 is not a problem . The tweezers are a nice feature but that had nothing to do with my purchase.
My girlfriend bought me the micarta version while down at Myrtle Beach. She over paid at a store I won’t name to be nice, but she didn’t care. She insisted that we weren’t leaving the store until I picked something and I actually really like it. I get metal splinters at work all the time so I love the tweezers, plenty slicey, flips reliably, carries decent and easily replaced ($). I have plenty of nicer knives to choose from but I’ve kind of come back to more simple/inexpensive knives.
Regardless of what knife I'm carrying I always have a Victorinox Compact on me as well. Partially because I find having scissors useful and partially for the scale tools, especially the tweezers and the pin that's hidden under the corkcrew. The pen and the tiny screwdriver are also nice, the plastic toothpick... is there. I wouldn't mind scale tools becoming more common among regular knives as well.
I like the few civivi I have, but certainly don't feel the need to get all the knives they make. Lots of them are very similar. But I used to have a pair of tweezers from a Gerber dime that I kept tucked between the blade inside a micro recon on my keychain that I don't have anymore. So if there's one more civivi in my future, this may end up being the one.
totally agree about the price, but keep in mind the Baby Banter is not much less and uses the same materials for a much smaller (and really really cool) design.
I’m only asking because I’ve now heard you say “athletic shorts” a couple times now. Are we talking high-rise, like a coaching or jogging short, or something long and silken, like basketball shorts?
Tweezers are an interesting addition to a Civivi knife. Definitely useful in a pinch (no pun intended). Agreed on the price. It's a little bit overpriced for what you're getting, but not horrible.
Those are some pretty long tweezers! I am with you though, sometimes you just need some pointed tweezers. Dig a 3/4 inch metal splinter out of your cuticle with the tip of your knife. I dare anyone LOL.
Long time since I looked in here or at modern folders, sold my entire collection except the RHK 3' non flip, small sebenza and McBee,still have my 40 plus GECs.but yea this knife typifies the modern knife scene GIMMICK after GIMMICK.
To be completely honest. I much rather see tweezers on a knife than a lanyard hole. There so many $250+ knifes that looks sooo good with amazing designs, and then you see the back where it looks like someone has taken a drill press straight through or put a square hole there that just kills the whole esthetic. I wish some companies would release a type A & B ( one with a lanyard hole and one without), especially when you starting to reach the $500 mark. But that's just me. Would be interesting if a company did that just to see which model sold out first, and what the sales numbers for each model was in percentage. Would it be 80/20 or closer to 50/50.
$70-$90 seems to be Civivi's new favorite pricerange. Nothing has changed or been brought to the table that I see, but their new models have been slightly overpriced for the past year or so. Appalachian Drifter2 just shy of $100, Imperium - $70, Keen Nadder - $75, Mckenna - $65-90...Not HORRIBLY overpriced, but they seem a lil full of themselves lately imo.
Idk 72 ain't bad. It's not 55 dollars because it's better then all the other 55dollar knives in their own line up. Same reason some knives with 154cm that arnt special at all. Are over 100 bux
Do you know what is worse than a splinter?...A sliver...A sliver is a splinter that goes right under your fingernail. Getting a sliver makes a person understand the torture of bamboo shoots under the fingernails. Tweezers would be handy for those.
Before this gets going, I just want to say that I absolutely despise the aesthetic of this knife. And while that wouldn't normally be unusual LOL this blade shape seems to be popping up more frequently and that makes me 5% sad. Not full sad, because there are thousands of knives, but I don't want to see a trend that reviewers have to pay attention to. It's all about me dangit.

I'm glad you told me those were tweezers. I would've plugged them into an outlet to charge my knife.
Lol
Lol
Lol
It's a good thing you don't have this knife and if ya do. Thank God for metal complex
When a company prioritizes tweezers over a lanyard hole, you know it's a good knife

Just wanted to say I appreciate your reviews they help out a lot man🤜🤛 and that I really hope they put out a Relic with a button lock

On sale rn for 38 on blade hq, that’s a steal right there, am I gonna get it? Nah, I already bought 2 knives this month 😅
I'm a total civivi fangirl 🤣. That one is on my list with a few others. I have 4 civivi knives now. The tweezers are pretty cool.
I bought the Elementum like that red and black it goes so well togheter in my opinion.

I use my Cold Steel Espada XL to dig out my splinters. 😠💪
Nice looking knife MC, like the blade shape, and the black/red look sweet! Tweezers are an added benefit. Thanks for the review!

I always have tweezers on hand with my SAK Classic.
Now this is discontinued, and $49.00.
How do like it now?
I love the voices you do to make fun of some people LOL, keep doing what your doing 👍
I’m only asking because I’ve now heard you say “athletic shorts” a couple times now. Are we talking high-rise, like a coaching or jogging short, or something long and silken, like basketball shorts?
I wonder if swim trunks count as athletic shorts 🤔
Shorts that are generally worn to do things that don't really have much to do with athleticism 👍
@@wupwop I don’t know that I’ve ever used the phrase “athletic shorts” for this exact reason. 🙂 I think it sounds funny, like “gentleman’s area”
i received a Civivi Ortis from my daughter for Christmas i guess she saw me checking them out on BH but it's a really nice knife

I was looking at the sencut Brazoria and this seems pretty similar but with better steel and tweezers! I'll have to grab one of these at some point!
Havnt been interested in anything civivi in a long time.
Those are some pretty long tweezers!
I am with you though, sometimes you just need some pointed tweezers.
Dig a 3/4 inch metal splinter out of your cuticle with the tip of your knife.
I dare anyone LOL.
Just ordered this and a SpyderCo Resilience.
I have an srm knife coming today, can’t wait 😁
You could grind the tweezer tips to your liking. I had to do that with my Swiss Army Knife tweezers.
Hey there was wondering if any can tell me if there is any bearing upgrade for kizer sheepdog xl
Nice review! Looks like a budget version of the We Snick
If only the tweezers were timascus
Nice video. I would also like to see them change these clips
Really like the overall look of it. I would just leave the tweezers in the box.

I agree. Great practicality, but way too much dough. Especially for how rudimentary it looks.
The baby banter goes for around 60 dollars with the same materials. 12 dollar tweezers
Great content 👍🔪

HAHA i bought this not knowing about the tweezers just a bonus, i might sand down the tweezers to get them to a point
So they put a Baby Banter into the Willy Wonka Taffy Stretcher, and added a flipper

that's cool it has hidden tweezers
Most things have gone up 30% in the last 12 months so I can understand why new models are including this increase.
Do you know what is worse than a splinter?...A sliver...A sliver is a splinter that goes right under your fingernail. Getting a sliver makes a person understand the torture of bamboo shoots under the fingernails. Tweezers would be handy for those.
5:59 DEMONETIZED.
I should become a tweezer reviewer 🤣🤣🤣
Ok, it's officially....👍👍.
It's a good knife
Tweezers are nice touch until they start prioritizing tweezers over pocket clip placement. 🤣
Heck yeah
It's like a big boy Swiss Army Knife... Lol..
Hahaha!! Cool, another overpriced Civivi.
Glad you pointed that out and found those tweezers to be a plus. Good review.

I'm going to start calling it "modified bowie" and maybe that will be grating enough to turn a few people off.
Visually I like the design. I'm not a fan of crazy designs.
Roach Clip!
