Hey Capt......you also use the bead chain concept for Kings when running straight spoons no flasher don't you,???? what pound test floro for multi purpose mostly kings?
20lb. test Fluorocarbon on the summer set-ups for Kings. I still go to a #2 round nosed snap in this set-up. You can clip your Flasher/Fly rigs to this as well. You should note that: for years, we fished 20lb. test for summer Kings and Trout. The advent of the Fresh Water Sea Flea has changed how we rig..... We now run 30lb. test Big Game as a main carrying line on downrigger rods. The diameter of the heavier line makes it much more difficult for sea fleas to build up on your trolling gear. We don't need the extra weight for fish but it helps us a great deal with the maintenance of our gear. Hope this helps. Capt. B3
Any tackle shop should have them....we use the 30lb. test bead chains. You can also achieve the same results with a tiny in-line SPRO swivel. Its important to get one small enough that it can pass through the eyelets of the fishing rod.
