I don't know if you watched and listened, Fuji, but thank you! Because as of 13th of July 2023, Fujifilm addressed the lag that some people had while using this lens and I talked about in this video. Make sure to update your firmware if you own the GFX body.
Excellent review, really appreciate it as I have just bought into the GFX system, I have subscribed to see more of your videos as I like your style. All the best to you and your country may peace come very soon for you.
@@Alex_SMK It's great, images are superb! I've been using the XT-4 for a few years and it was really easy to get started with the 50S II because the menus are pretty much the same.
Danke für den tollen Bericht und die Bilder. Ich war noch am überlegen ob diese Linse auch etwas für mich ist. Jetzt werde ich sie mir wohl auch kaufen. Das war ein teures Video. 🙂
I bought the GFX 100S today, and because of the spring sale, also placed an order for the 20-35mm. I was having second thoughts about it when I picked up the camera, as the salesman said "oooh that's going to be WIDE!". I didn't quite understand if he meant that as a positive or negative thing. Seeing your video have made me question this choice less. It's still an unsettling amount of money for "was it the right choice?". I have found a second hand 63mm for a very good price which I'll get within the end of next week, so at least I should have something to get started in this new dimension of medium format. The question remains though; what tele lens should I get... 110mm? 45-100mm? 100-200mm? I can only pick one, because the price vs range is crazy compared to what I'm used to with Olympus. :D
Firstly, congrats on the GFX! Yeah, 20-35 can be too wide sometimes, but it all depends on the application of course. At least you have some choices, unlike with 23mm or Laowas. As for the tele, I've only tried 110 and 45-100, so can't tell too much about the 100-200 except that you can find them pretty darn cheap as of late. 45-100 is a workhorse made for pretty much anything you throw at it, especially in the controlled lighting scenarios. No need to constantly change lenses and the IS is really neat since they work together with IBIS. And of course the LM is a treat to use. Buying a lens for work and shooting in different genres, this lens would be on the top of my list, probably. But boy oh boy, it's a chunky one, haha. 110 is a portrait machine. If your main thing is portraits and fixed 85mm is where you like to be, it's a no-brainer. I know F2 is tempting, but the depth of field on it is not always practical for the optimal portraits. But when you need it - it's simply put - wonderful, if not the best. No IS - not a big deal, but shutter speed has to be… you know the drill. And it's not light or small either. Just some info for you to consider. At the end of the day, I can't choose for you. But I hope it helps somehow. Oh, and thank you a lot for watching!
Слава Україні! ❤️🇺🇦✌️Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 Great review. I own GFX50R paired with GF50mm/f3.5 however I was wondering if getting a GF zoom would be a good idea. I use my GFX for documentary projects mainly documenting Ukrainian community in Canada. Versatility could be useful in this case. (P.S. де Ви так навчилися гарно розмовляти англійською, фактично без акценту. Спочатку я навіть і не зрозумів, думав, що дивлюся якесь рев‘ю з Америки:)
Героям Слава! Thank you for watching! I like GF20-35 for that matter exactly, versatile and fast enough! But still, it's not cheap, so better try it before you buy it. GF50mm - is a must have for sure! (P.S. дякую, приємно:) практика мабуть)
