  • I believe all skiers could benefit from improving their jumping skills on skis - from intermediate skiers to advanced skiers and even expert skiers who are not yet comfortable in the air.
Being able to jump will give you so many more opportunities. Now you don't HAVE to ski around or absorb bumps in the terrain. You can choose to, but you can ALSO choose to get some fun airtime instead.
And practicing jumping is not only fun, it will also improve your balance in a very effective way. If you are not in balance while jumping, you will instantly know. And then you will try to adjust the next time. That process continues on and on, and you will improve your balance on skis along the way - even when you are not jumping.
Is it an expert skill? I believe jumping on skis is not exclusive to expert skiers. Most skiers could become more versatile if they got more comfortable in the air. Start very small and progress with babysteps. I recommend you only move to something bigger when you are waaaaay comfortable on the smaller jump.
