I am currently facing one more issue with how to call Oracle stored proc with parameters in Direct Query mode? Appreciate your inputs or any workaround Thanks
Hi, how can I control query parameters in a slicer from report view?. Here I am trying to merge two duplicate tables ( the inputs for those two tables are based on parameter selected table name since I have multiple tables loaded in power query) to get the compassion and the tables contain same set of columns with different data.. and this is happening in power query and I can able to control the merge from report view on "edit parameters" in transform data drop down. Here my question is how can I show those edit parameters in a slicer? To give the end user complete control over the tables to merge
Very Nice video , i just have one doubt if I am using query parameter and then after publishing the file, will users or me will get an option to change geography to India & china & bhutan like how we do it in slicer ???. Please help me out
In Power BI service, if you go to Semantic Model (Dataset), and go to Settings, there will be a section for PARAMETERS. If you have defined any parameter in the report, you would be able to control from there. Depending on the access provided to the user, the user may or may not be able to see PARAMETER Section. I hope this helps.
@analyticalguy hi, I tried but I'm settings option near 🔔 doent have that parameter option, but I have used query parameter can u please guide me a bit
Hi This video was good and easy to understand. I used query parameters to filter the table in power query. Now is that possible to get that parameters as slicer so that the end user can slice the region he wants. I tried to edit parameters in power bi service but it has taken through the dataset settings of parameters but end user will not have access to the dataset to change the settings. but i have a scenario where the end user wants to change the parameters in report in power bi service. is that possible to achieve that.
Sir, good informative video. Can we add this parameter into Dashbaord? If we publish the desktop charts into Power Bi Service, I am unable to add the parameters into Dashboard. Can you please help me to achieve this?
Hi Ravi, yes you can control PARAMETER selection from Power BI Service. you need to navigate to Semantic Models SETTINGS and look for PARAMETER Section.
Using TOPN in numeric range was amazing. Thanks for sharing such insights for us.
Thanks for your kind words, Shreya! 🙏

To give the end user complete control over the tables to merge
This is very helpful. Please how do I use a date parameter to select a particular date from a sql query connected to power bi?
Hi Chioma, You can add M query in Advance Editor that will filter dynamically according to the Parameter.
Did you try this way?

For that there are separate parameters on Powerbi desktop that yoj have to use.
