Stop all of your stickers are so cutee 😭 the way I’ve worked around the alignment issues with my portrait is to import the sticker with a slightly larger bleed/border than I’d like, add an internal offset which creates a cut line that can be moved separate from the artwork and set it to a different colour. Uncheck the original cut line colour in the cut menu so it only cuts the new line colour, then print and cut it first with normal printer paper. Then I can see exactly which stickers were cut off and move those cut lines in the program one or two clicks in the other direction to even it out. Definitely not a glamorous fix, but once you do it the file will always cut perfectly ☺️ hope that helps you get the most out of your sheets!

A trick ive done with my dull blades is ball up aluminum foil and start stabbing it to sharpen the blade. Just be careful. It helped until i could buy new blades 😅

I find something that helps me with the cricut when i have this same issue is do a calibration check. then afterwards i pull the hood down to add shade. The cricut blade housing has a light and i find that sometimes the extra light has the machine read it weird. Also try cutting without the lamp the extra light also might be confusing the read by adding more light reflecting off. Another thing you can try is adding matt clear tape from the dollar store on the markings if the issue persists.

heya! just finished watching this vlog, it's so nice to see more peeps getting into the sticker (and stationery in the future potentially?) space. :) I just joined in a little less than 2 months ago.
I also decided to start out with a Silhouette. I went through a bunch of trial and error when I first started cutting my stickers, but I find I get more consistent cuts when I leave my registration marks completely untouched by the laminate. It takes some tracing with a pen or pencil and some cutting with just some scissors, but I haven't had an alignment issue since.

I know the feeling about the alignment issue with the protrait siloulet I will never spell it right. I think it's because unlike most other plotter softwares they do not have four points of alignment which might be why it fails in that ONE area. I find I don't have that much issue with doing some aligntment tests and it's still far superior to Cricut

that makes a lot of sense, it is super irritating tho 😅 someone else suggested to do a test cut on reg paper, and the move the cut lines accordingly. ive heard good things abt the siser cutters, but theyre so expensive
@@Todooi they truly areee! I also DONT like that it is a bit more work to start the alignment process but I’ve heard it’s way more accurate since it does similar work to industrial plotters.

Great video! Still watching, but I've been debating on switching to Shopify, but I feel like I don't have the following to make it worth the money. I haven't sold anything on Etsy in months (and, admittedly it's because I don't really advertise -- but even when I was paying for Etsy ads, it didn't do anything). When did you feel it was "worth it" to move to Shopify?
i'm actually in a pretty similar boat to you. i never made a lot on etsy, but when they took down my best sellers i was making nothing. thats the only reason i moved. i dont have the following to drive traffic to my shopify, so i started posting on yt again. honestly all of the sales i made on my shop came from this very video. so i recommend spending the time to advertise and market yourself (as boring as that can be). if i wasnt doing fanart i wouldve stayed with etsy until i had enough consistent orders to cover shopifys monthy cost. hope this was helpful 💕

What i do for my portrait is i dont laminate the registration marks, maybe that helps
i honestly don't notice too much of a difference when i'm using matte laminate. i flip back and forth between covering them and not covering them. but it 100% helps when using glossy/holographic laminate! 🤗💕

og dragon ball is my favorite! little goku is the best. one piece is really long, but so worth it! as for simplifying your art, take away as many details as you can while still being able to tell what it is. then just add back the ones you want for style ✨️
