This is exactly me and my father right now. We have the occasional small talk when we meet. Like "have you eaten?" Or "the weather is good". Never really had a heart to heart talk. But I know he's a good person. Sure, he has his flaws but he always try to be a better father.

This one really gets to me. For a long time growing up, especially my teenage years, I had a hard time talking to my dad. In fact, we would go months without saying a word to each other, despite living in the same house. It was awkward, and I didn’t know how to talk to him anymore. It even grew to the point that I began to hate him. He was disabled from an injury, and because of that he was in pain a lot, and I didn’t understand that, so I often judged him without really knowing anything. He didn’t know how to act around me because I was no longer a kid, but rather a growing woman. Four years ago, I became really sick, and now I’m chronically ill and disabled as well. Over those four years, my dad and I found a common ground that brought us back together. We were both in pain and struggling, and we began to understand each other a lot better. I was home all the time now, so slowly we started talking again. And when I would be stuck in bed, my dad would make me meals or snacks. He would experiment with them, trying to find something I could actually eat that was good. It started out as every once in awhile, to a regular thing. Some of the snacks/meals were goofy and weird, some fell apart on me, but I ate all of them and they all made me feel loved. I began taking pictures of every meal or snack he made me and now I keep them in an album in my phone to remember how far we’ve come. We bonded over meals and our disabilities and struggles and even though we aren’t like best friends or anything, we’re a lot closer than we used to be. ❤️

We have an epidemic of young people becoming disabled with chronic illnesses which directly correlates with the rise in vaccine administration. My dad is just like this, he never talks much to me, when I was pregnant he used to stock up the fridge with only my favorite food, that was his way of saying “I also care”
I'm really glad that my father is not like that. We talk about anything. My mom died when I was 15 so he needed to be a mom and a dad at the same time. And for a girl in that age he handled it like a champ! When I had cramps and came earlier from school because of that, he always made me tea and bought me chocolate. He talked about make up and decided which clothes are better for the day. There was no day we didn't talked about stuff. Of course we also talked about school but he never wanted to force me to be the best. I'm live in germany and I'm now 18 years old I'm a adult now. And he raised me to a independent and confident women. He teached me to speak up and not to be a shy girl who would say nothing because it's not lady like.
I'm really thankful that he could be a mom and a dad and teached me all those things. And it's still the same we talk about everything.
For everyone who has the same problem let me tell you something. Talk to your dad open up, tell him about school show him your clothes and ask him about his opinion. And if he says:"ask your mother." Tell him you want HIS opinion.
Just open up to him and never forget he is still your father who loves you!

My Dad is never there for me, maybe that is why the tears wont stop. I want to believe that there are dads out there who treat their daughters like princesses, and I have tremendous respect for them. If you are one who has such a father, tell him that you love him
It saddens me to find that many people in these comments, me included, have an "absent father" type relationship, and it might not always be his fault, but it affects the child profoundly and how he develops. This reminds me of the song "Papaoutai" by Stromae about a father who is there physically but not mentally, and how the kid wishes his father was like the other fathers.

this hits too close to home. my father always asks about me to my mother. i know he always supported me without him ever saying anything to me.
This hit me right in the feels, even I had a hard time starting a conversation with my father because I felt like he was constantly disappointed in me( due to my studies) and I ignored him even though I longed for his affection and approval ,then I realized he was the same way unable to connect to his daughter since he was always a man of few words

That one dislike was only because they were wishing this masterpiece is a 90-minute movie instead of a 90-second commercial.
Unlike us Japanese, I had thought that people overseas communicate in an exaggerated manner, but after reading the comments here, I realized that many people feel the same way about the parent-child relationship.

I guess most of us in the comments are the same, having a difficult relationship with your father makes videos like these all the more heart warming. Like when you've been out in the snow too long and look in a frosted window to see a family sitting around a flickering fire and enjoying each other's company. Bittersweet I would say.

This commercial suddenly keeps popping up on FB reels so I tried to find the source if it was just a one time ad or a anime series.
I'm surprised that this is already 7 years old, it really withstood the test of time. The animation and design still looks really good and the story is heart warming.

it does not go for everyone but, this is Relatable for me, at a certen age the child would start becoming indepandent from his parents, and he only have love to connect him/her to them, but if a child does not like one of his parents this would become the result
