I highly recommend Cora Reilly's Born in Blood series and Sophie Lark's Brutal Birthright series! I would love to see reading vlogs for them too if you decide to read them! They are both dark romance series with MAFIA!! ❤🔥
I read Hooked last year by Emily Mcintire and that book was a good intro for me into dark romance and was amazing. I also read Scarred which is the 2nd book in the never after series and loved that book as well. Love your videos and your whole vibe. A quivering mound of love jelly had me laughing so hard. I cant unhear that 😳
I’ve only ever read 1 dark romance and it was a mafia romance x it was good but I’ve not picked up any since x side note your car interior is sublime 😍 absolutely iconic and I am jealous💓
I'm more to fantasy romance lover. Before I like a more chessy romance but since I'd jump to fantasy romancr, chessy romance seem dull to me 😅 but I still read them. Just to cleanse my palate before reading more fantasy romance. I might try dark romance more but sometimes I got scared because the romance are to dark. So yeah.
If you are just getting into dark romance I would recommend watching Larry Reads -- she has lots on videos of dark romance books with different levels of 'dark', but she also has a video that's a dark romance guide that gives you recommendations and tells you about the books but they are broken up into different levels of 'dark' so its sort of like a beginners guide to dark romance, with some books that are a little dark all the way up to experienced level of dark romance. It's a great video and I would recommend it to anyone getting into dark romance because it's such a broad genre with a lot of different kinds of books and because of the content of those books it's very easy to pick up something that you're not ready for. I think it's a great genre and it's my favourite genre along with fantasy but I do think it's a genre you need to be careful with and is better and easier to navigate if you have a guide and Larry Reads is an amazing guide and her channel is just an amazing, fun, goofy place to be.
If you are looking for a book like the mindf*ck series I would recommend "Wretched" by Emily McIntire. It's inspired by the Wizard of Oz and the female character is part of a drug empire and the male character is sent by the fbi to go in and take her and her family down. I really enjoy all the books in the series. All of them are dark romances inspired by fairytales (Peter Pan, Lion King, Aladdin, etc.)
😂 I felt the same way and then I got sucked into it and read it in two days 🤦🏻♀️ I will say you should definitely check the trigger warning for this one. The second one is even more severe.
I think you might be the kind of dark romance girlie that likes the shallow, fun kind of dark romance instead of the more serious, very dark romances. There's nothing wrong with that, I also love the more surface level, fun dark romances -- where the world is dark and the actions the characters do are excusable or even something you're rooting for. For those kinds of books I would recommend Sophie Lark's dark romance books, RuNyx's Darkverse series, any mafia or organised crime romance, motorcycle club romances -- things like that where the world they are in is dark and so you as the reader know the characters are playing by different rules and therefore their actions are excusable. These are all more fun, surface level dark romance that I think you would enjoy and I would recommend staying on that track rather than diving straight into really dark romances that you're probably not ready for. It's kind of a genre that you have to work up to in levels, but it's also ok not to work up to the more serious, hardcore dark romances and sticking with the fun ones that you enjoy.
