In the UK plaster is pink. We have just had our Victorian apartment completely replastered and it looks so good in the kitchen I have chosen Setting Plaster as our actual paint colour. Lots of light comes in through the large bay windows and the colour on the walls on a sunny day just lifts the spirits.
We have Setting Plaster in the dining room of our 1918 Arts and Crafts style bungalow. The trim is BM's Distant Grey (used throughout the house) and the coffered ceiling is in a very very pale bluish grey.
That’s the prettiest color I’ve ever seen. I have an open concept home so I would have to paint the whole interior that color. It seems like it would work better in houses that are more traditional with rooms that are separated from each other. But it’s really gorgeous. They nailed that one.
Thank you so much for covering this one - it’s one of my F&B faves. If you want to go for contemporary sophistication I can see this working with RH style furniture, and some wainscoting. But then, add some rope work and organic details and the Estate mix would fit a “sunwashed boho” look very well. All that to say - amazing video, and have a great day :)
I love that you are doing farrow and ball 🎉 . Could you do tanners brown and pelt ? Thinking about doors but also color palette that goes with it ? Thanks so much !
I have an east facing bedroom that gets a lot of sun. What would you think about Setting Plaster with an accent wall of Smoked Trout or Red Earth (the wall that gets the most direct sun)? I'm looking for something warm that goes well with muted tones. Mixing in textiles of other muted nature inspired colors - sage, terracotta, olive, etc.
i love jitney in a south facing room and elephant's breath is very pretty for a greige. F and B really does go on nicely. really gorgeous paint all around. JUST LOOK AT THE COLOUUUUUR.
Calamine and Sulking room pink! cant decide which to paint on my open floor plan thats currently Chantilly lace and the white lack of warmth is driving me crazy
Proposal Pink, a color "James Introduced me to", is one for consideration when "Thinking Pink" and "First Light", Banjamin Moore's 2020 "Color of the Year" that surprised me at the time, but is such a desirable shade of Pink that it will maintain it's attractive visual on Pallets for Years to come. "Setting Plaster" fits well in this Pink Spectrum. These are *"Perfect Pinks"* that don't trigger the Male fear button, they soothe, stabilize, and offer a steadied secure energy. They can be a canvas for grays, Charcoal, Deep Forest Gray-Greens, Darkest Blues and Blue Grays, and they offer opportunities for a variety Gloss Variances of Trim Whites and Tongue-n-Groove paneling, other Wood Wall Decor/Design options, including Tin Ceilings.
What I like about First Light is that it's not peach, which can be totally the wrong colour for your skin. First Light looks almost violet in some lights, south west for me, and that's what I like
Loved your video...I can tell immediately off the bat as a new viewer you really appreciate how much color can play a part in interior design. Curious, another color from my perspective that feels similar is Trout by F&B...I feel like these two could compliment each other. Toying with the idea of using setting plaster as an overall color and perhaps trout in the bedroom. Thoughts?
I've had SW's Sashay Sand at 75% in my home office (south-facing) for about four years now and I adore it. This F&B pink appears very similar. Does anyone know a decent dupe for F&B's Tallow? I've wanted to change my white trim to this creamy yellow tone for awhile. Unfortunately, as a single parent F&B is a bit beyond my budget and I don't know where to start to match it to a more affordable SW or BM.
Thank you for that thorough discussion of some interesting colors... and commenting re how they can complement wood/ the trim color etc. Only other request is if it could be anticipated it to misbehave in a N/E / S or W facing room. I'm going to look up that museum reference. Perhaps the pandemic has brought an earth tone surge with it and pushed out that excessive grey.
I’m having my local Benjamin Moore duplicate Farrow and Ball Great White and Salt. Haven’t painted yet but I ordered samples. I swatched other Farrow and Ball paints and they are pigmented. 😚 🎨
i am going to use this in my bathroom on the walls and ceiling with darkest navy-black cabinet and geometric tile stickers used randomly/sparingly. have you ever considered doing a diverse “ skin-tone” paint color variety video? as i think everyone can relate to a paint that is complimentary to their very own skin tone! 🌟🌟🌟
I would love to see a video from you on F&B’s Joas White. And Benjamin Moore’s wrought Iron. I laughed unnecessarily loud the other night. Bc I was scrolling through your old videos and saw one on a paint color called Plaster of Paris while watching I Love Lucy with my husband and kids and it was episode where she’s trying to be more creative lol. And uses the plaster of Paris on herself to trick Ricky. Anyways. Love the videos.
Hi there! Do you think setting plaster could work on a ceiling with something like card room green or green smoke on the walls and studio green trim? I’m leaning towards pink ground on the ceiling in a full gloss - A little unconventional I know, but I thought setting plaster might also look nice. Any thoughts?
would the color claret from BM be a close match to this Farrow and ball color. Could you consider doing color matches of farrow and ball paint colors to colors from BM sherwin williams behr these brands are a lot more accessible than FB

That sounds so lovely!
What did you use for trim? Is your room north, south, east or west facing ?
We use Wimborne White from Farrow & Ball
I love those peachy pinks! They are so flattering to people’s skin.
The Queen Mary Luxury Liner used peach tinted mirrors in staterooms to help overcome what people might experience at sea!
And with the right lighting, pink walls gives your skin a nice glow.
How do you get that lighting?

Sounds GORGEOUS 😍
What is the bluish paint color please?
@@TrudieTiger70 It's actually a half tint of C2's Dorian Grey. We had the help of a local interior design specialist.
I’ve decorated with pink and green many different times in my homes. This is another take on a a delightful complimentary color pairing. I like.
Liz Rehrauer They were popular in the 1950s.
I painted my master bed and bathroom in Setting Plaster. It’s a big hug.

What a lovely colour!! The green is a great accent.
Wow that green, love it

Can you please do a color code video on FB’s pink ground and peignoir, and recommended pairing colors? Thank you!
Wow, , love that Setting Plaster and love Tallow too.

Thanks for sharing the paint pairings. Your info is valuable and I appreciate all of the info.

Can you do a video on F & B browns, please? Pantalon, London Clay, Broccoli Brown, Ash Gray, Jitney, etc
Speaking of plaster, please do one on venetian plaster! There's a lot of confusion on whether it's the real deal and variants/sheens

Did you mean Smoked Trout?
I'm looking for options for types of terraacotas, south-west type colors; red, browns, warm whites, etc.
What would you say is BM equivalent color. Thanks James
So then I can use this colour in either a south or north facing room?🤔
can i used bm soft satin as a dupe for f&b setting plaster?
Love Farrow and Ball

I had it matched before and also got a sample pot. The warm glow can’t be matched in Ben Aura, SW, Behr or Valspar. Unfortunately 😩

Hmm, hadn't thought of that. Definitely know people prefer colors in their bathrooms that make them look good. And of course....good lighting.

A plaster in Britain is a Band-Aid, which this color mimics.

Love unconventional! The green will bring out the pink more if that's what you're going for so setting plaster might work well!
How did it go?

Claret is a lot darker but BM Boudoir is a close match to Setting Plaster. :)
@@thepaintpeople could you do a video on that boudoir paint color
Can it be compared to Benjamin Moore 'First Light' or 'Quartz'??
That Parma Grey looks amazing! Very French combo
That is a fabulous question!
Paint People??
Still waiting on that Lime Wash video
It looks fleshy too me... Like skin on the walls.
Only for gingers 😆
