I came in here expecting some Puddle of Mudd level teardown of the original, but this is actually pretty sick! Bedroom bands should be a thing now lol.
I used a boss ds-2 distortion with turbo mode turned on, then infront of it I had my op amp big muff fuzz. Then into 2 cranked amps, it's really awesome
@@thatdudefrom7118 I have the distortion maxed out, level at the same volume as my clean on my guitar, and tone at around 2 o'clock. Turbo mode is turned on
Thanks! I love Cherry Waves, I'm not sure if we'll do more covers anytime soon. We're working on our own music right now, but if we have free time then we can definitely try!
Awesome. Get some gigs. We started out in my garage and worked all the way up to the bowling alley. We played every friday night in the back room of the lounge. Started out playing just for our friends. By the time we all graduated college, we were playing to 150 people every week. That was 20 years ago. Best time of our lives. Keep it up guys.
That's really awesome! So far we have played 1 gig, but between all our jobs/college it's hard. We love music though so this will always be a thing we'll do
Thanks! We did upload a cover of Minerva I think like 8 months ago on this channel, but we did a cover of My Own Summer that I posted the same day as this so feel free to check it out as well!
@@Tawper lol i wish i could, i live in an apt. so it's more difficult to turn up the volume on my mg10 :( gotta upgrade my amp just have no idea what to buy
@@ruben1641 ah yeah I get that, it sucks. I always recommend Orange amps! They can give you any sound ranging from doom stoner stuff to clean country or folk. It's pretty awesome.
March 15th my band Black Sand Bay is releasing our debut single! It's called Confrontation, look us up on instagram if you want more info to follow us! Our user is @blacksandbayofficial Thanks for the compliments! It means a lot!
Music is something to be felt the energy, kurt cobain its one of the most famous stars of rock and he didnt enjoy while he plays on live, and YOU GUYS FEEL THE MUSIC, no one guives a fuck if you misses a note, you are using the magic with the right power.
Hell yeah man we really just throw it all into even our rehearsals lmao, we just feel it and lock into it. It's so much fun, thanks for the kind words!
I'm just on a roll of watching random videos youtube suggests to me no shot this was made in 2023 lmao I swear you could claim this video was made in any year from youtube started till now I would've believed you great cover (and great recovery from the strap fail too)
Thank you so much! But yes this video was recorded back in March of 2023. It was super fun, we were just jamming and didn't plan on doing anything specific. Then we were like let's record a cover and now here we are! I'm so thankful for it
@adriansullivan4433 Haha, honestly fr if I broke a string during this that would have been hilarious. I know I pulled the guitar out of tune too after it fell off, it was a fun cover though even though i missed the outro 😂
@@PizzaGamer11919 Lol, sometimes practicing does feel that long. Either way, once you get familiar with the guitar from enough practice, you'll start to notice the patterns pretty quick
@@Daniel-lh8dp Prepare for a long paragraph: For this cover in the intro I believe I used the Boss DS-2 "Turbo Distortion" I think the Turbo Mode was turned on for the extra midrange boost. I boost that with my Caline Overdrive pedal, I can't remember if I turned that one on or not during this though. At the end of my chain I have the TC Electronic Chorus, it has like 4 buttons on it. I turn that on for a lead sound for the intro, it gets really bright sounding. For the main riff I used the OP-Amp Big Muff Fuzz, which that is boosted with the Boss DS-2 for extra midrange from the Turbo mode. Now for the amps, I have an Orange Crush 35rt and a Crate GFX-120. I have the orange detonator pedal to split my signal to use those two amps at the same time. I crank the shit out of my orange and match the crate's volume with the orange. So my main tone is brought from the thickness and heavy distortion of the orange. So in conclusion: Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion-->OP-Amp Big Muff Fuzz-->TC Electronic Chorus-->Orange Crush 35rt and Crate GFX-120 I hope this helps!
@@Daniel-lh8dp no problem! I'm trying to save up for the Super Crush 100 with a crpro 4x12 cabinent. As loud as my setup is now, my drummer is so dang loud that I still need more volume. Plus a cabinet just looks cool and it doesn't even have to be brutally loud so it leaves me with a lot of versatility, but as of now that is my setup currently
Sorry to hear that, it's interesting how younger people want to be older yet older people want to be younger. It's almost tragic really, even though I'm 18 almost 19, I already want to be younger. However I try to enjoy where I'm at currently because I'll never have it again
This goes hard and true rockers will know.
