- Surveillance video shows the female postal carrier putting items into a mailbox in front of a home in Dublin Monday afternoon around 4:30 when suddenly one masked man followed by a second came up from behind her.

Yeah and it keeps happening, guess it doesn't mean too much.
oh oh, we scared now, we commited a federal crime and got away with it. Even if they catch us, we'll get a low bond, plea bargain down and then get maybe 10 months holiday with our friends in a federal prison. oh my, maybe I'll just stop doing crime and get a job at McDonald's.

It used to be that committing a Federal crime was a huge risk. The FBI was gonna get on it, and you had really high odds of getting caught and doing hard time. But now, the usual suspects have no fear whatsoever.

They look for SS and disability checks, doctor them up, and try to cash them with fake IDs.

Identity theft, bank fraud etc.. they can open your mail, look at something from your bank, order a new card, set up a new pin and clean you out etc…
In my area the postal keys are very valuable. The carrier can get into all the apartment and office buildings as well as open the mailboxes and relay boxes (drop point for mail)

No Mail Carriers should just quit. My life is not worth getting into a shoot-out over keys so that the presidential election can be rigged. It's like working late at night at a 7-11 store you know upfront you could die. You put your life at risk. I'm sure the USPS workers can find plenty other jobs here in the bay area. This happened in Dublin. I live in Dublin there's at least 10000 jobs here.

The USPS could apprehend these attackers if they offered an award that wasn't contingent upon the conviction of the people arrested. Conviction for what? The original charge? Or a reduced charge? If the criminals agree to a plea deal for a lesser charge, is the award still paid? If it's a hung jury the defendants are not convicted and, consequently, no award is paid out to the person who shared the information with the police.
I'm surprised that officials still use this bogus out-dated "enticement" to get people to come forward with information.

Just retired from the Postal Service. Glad to be free of the stress, harassment, dog attacks, abusive treatment from management and the public and the mental and physical strain. Oh, yes, before I forget, also nearly getting into fights with people in public who can't regulate their emotions.

they look for checks to alter and deposit dont know how they do it since they can be traced by their bank when the check is cashed and goes back to the issuer or the person sending the check dosent make payment and is charged for a higher figure he wrote on it
