Opposed-piston double-acting model steam engine

Finally it's running! Three generations worked on this engine and now it's working on 0.5 bar of air pressure.
This engine does not only have two pistons in a common cylinder bore, it is double-acting at the same time. Besides, the linkage is rather unusual.
In the end, the biggest problems were slight sheer of the linkage and in particular the whole piston valve (thightness, input timing, and correction of the "zig-zag"-bore inside it).

Where is the boiler? Is it recycling 100% of the steam?

The boiler is not shown, it doubt it's even running on steam in the video, probably just compressed air.
The exhaust is clearly shown on the side of the valve manifold, it's just dumping to atmosphere.

Great video, lovely machine. I like the approach to maintaining parallel motion in the reciprocating parts and allowing greater expansion without compounding. I'd love to see a larger version of this made.
