      there isn't much to tempt a mark v owner. The vii strips out a lot of sound affecting functionality. It's a downgrade aside from built in IR and reactive load. I'm betting the mark v prices skyrocket.

    • @Returnality
      @Returnality Год назад +1

      @@jcradical2520 Yeah, the vii has a much mushier low end and loses a lot of the top end sparkle that the v had.

    • @jcradical2520
      @jcradical2520 Год назад +2

      @@Returnality im surprised to hear that. In the demos I’ve seen, the mark VII sounds tight to a fault. Almost like it’s a solid state amp. I’m interested in seeing demos from regular consumers.

      @@jcradical2520 I just listened on a better set of speakers (I was dumb ad using my laptop) and yeah, you're probably right. I stand by my observation on the top end though, I don't like the way it's shaped in the mark vii compared to the mark v

    Literally majority of the character comes from the IR or the mic. The clean sounds sounded so different they may have both been different amps. Love the sound of the 7

  • @psycofdo
    @psycofdo Год назад +7

    Hmmm not sure if this is an amp people would need. A revised mark V, better irs, midi .... apart from the platform upgrades, soundwise i have my doubts. It sounds killer, but nothing sounds really new. If this would've stereo, that would be a whole different deal for me.

  • @xchump
    @xchump Год назад +3

    Great clean tones in this demo! Just wished they had kept the Tweed mode.

  • @bruhskifrfrnocapbussinmate
    @bruhskifrfrnocapbussinmate Год назад +5

    It's a Mark V thats missing the edge, Mark I, and tweed voices, partially shared voices on channels 1 and 2, only has one rectification option (silicon) rather than silicon or tube, and has less interesting power scaling options with no pure class A/B mode.
    What's new is the addition of a new Mark VII mode, a Mark IIB mode, and a 8-position cabclone IR.
    Honestly, it sounds like an inferior Mark V to me that also costs more...

    • @Spidouz
      @Spidouz Год назад +1

      Also missing Extreme circuit and variance (Tweed power mode)… that’s a lot of missing, probably better to stick to Mark V that stays the best studio amp….
      While mark VII just seems more oriented for live.

    ooh I was dead worried for a sec that my Mark V is past it....but there doesn't seem to be anything on the MKVii that I wish my one had. In fact, there are things missing on this new amp that I couldn't do without! If the Mark V is no longer produced, I think they will go up in value as I can't be the only Boogie owner who's not feeling' this?

    • @peterglavanov
      @peterglavanov Год назад

      I also can’t imagine to use my mkV without the tube rectifier on ch1 and 2. Missing master volume and solo volume…yes, IRs and cabclone are fine but it can be added later in the chain if needed.

    It seems like 3/4 of the amp is basically nothing that you can't get out of a fender twin reverb, then the rest 1/4 is something that you could BETTER get out of a JP2C....This up has Gibson all over it. Too much "authentic" playing, but misses the bullseye. I would rather pay for a JP2C which is the best metal amp in the world probably and has at least 2 similar cleans which is more than you will ever need really.

      Thank you for perfectly describing what I was thinking. The mark V 90 was a jack of all trades and master of none, but it was really great at several things. This new one seems like it’s not great at anything. It’s great that it has variety, but it somehow sounds more flat than a modeler.
