tHANK YOU, THIS is the puzzle piece I was missing out for so long! As a graphic designer and illustratorS my teachers at college did not teach me how to sell ONLY TO DESIGN WELL, I wish I had the motivation to dive deep into selling back at that time, because I was thinking only to express myself through illustration and art and that was it, without worrying whether or not I was serving anyone!
What is the average sale time when you make a new design? I just started and haven't had any sales, but am still learning. Do you get sales almost right away when you post or how long does it normally take?
There is a huge variance for me. I have gotten sales as soon as the same day (which is rare but super exciting), but most of the time it'll be more like weeks for me. In some cases I've had designs not sell for almost a year and then take off much later. I also only sell a small portion of all the designs I ever post. In POD some products will never sell and that's just a reality of the business.
Great question! Since they all have different forms of descriptions and SEO, I typically find myself writing each separately. On redbubble tags matter and description really doesn’t, but Amazon mainly uses title and bullet points. Etsy uses title and some parts of description for SEO.
Great video, as always! Question about the Merch informer, I got really frustrated with it, cause it consistently showing me low available product numbers for some niche and A rating, and then I go to Amazon and enter the same phrase and it gives me 7 pages of results. Have you had a problem like that with MI?
MI is using the data base of all the Amazon Merch products that have been uploaded. Sometimes on Amazon there will be other product types or people who upload independently. MI's numbers are not always exact due to how things are calculated, but I have still found the competition checker gives a very accurate view of if a niche is worth pursuing due to saturation.
If you find a good “grade” say an A on merch informer…. Is there a minimum or max number you stay within for the total products online or BSR? Hope that makes sense. Amazing training videos. Just sent up my merch informer account and kittl account! Thank you for the discount code!!
The grade is based on the ratio of posted designs to sales. So a niche might get a good A rating if there were 100 products posted and 20 sales or an A if there were 2000 posted and 400 sales.
@@hannahebeling ok great thank you! So the Numbers don’t necessarily “matter” as long as the grade is good? Sorry hopefully I understand that correctly 😂
Could you provide, leave a link, or mention more exact examples of the kind of graphic designs that are "too artistic/complicated" to be sellable? What did you mean exactly by saying "too artistic", Did you mean the graphic style of realistic, fantasy illustration, for instance, is that it?
In my experience I've found that simple really sells. One or two lines of text with one graphic. When there starts to be multiple elements, small text, lots of graphics, it becomes harder to see in thumbnails.
My problem is people stealing the phrases i invent. for Example a few years ago i was the first one to create the saying " CBD Dealer - How Many Ounces Do You Need? It started selling good on Etsy at least 5 a day. About 10 months later i noticed it slowing down. After a quick search i found at least 50+ people using my phrase and selling the shirts cheaper. That shirt no longer gets me any sales. This has happened to dozens of phrases i created. My wife thinks i should start trademarking some of phrases and aggressively send take down notices on Etsy and Amazon for those who infringe on my trademarks. I've lost thousands of dollars due to copycats. I could have a very successful t-shirt business I just need to legally protect it.

Hi hannah I wanna know if we can put the same tags and description in all sites (redbubble, merch, tessprine....) ??
Thank you you're the best ♥

I got many sales on the first two days but haven't sold one since 2 days ago now
That’s awesome you made sales so quickly! Sometimes early sales can be random, so nothing to worry about!
Hi,im selling shirts on 21$ and sweater on 31$ on my pod etsy shop,it is a good price?
Absolutely! I am starting to sell most of my shirts for $21.99 this year and sweatshirts you can even sell higher-around $35.99

Yes very true! If you want to protect, you will have to trademark otherwise there will be hundreds of copy cats.
Advertise. If you are number one people will still buy your shirt as it is a top seller

Do you every rate stores? I'd love for you to look at mine.
I haven’t yet, but that’s definitely something I could maybe explore in the future! I’ll let you know for sure if I do!
Do you mean 50-100 unique designs or 50-100 products
Typically 50-100 unique designs.
Rather too high or low , try selling at normal price then offer a "sale"
