After every new episode of The Penguin. I'm getting more and more convinced that Ozwald pulling out his uzi wasn't just a threat and he was definitely gonna attempt to kill Carmine right then and there. The fact he's willing to even attempt this in front of BATMAN while also being surrounded by dozens of cops just shows how truly unstable he can be when his ego is bruised.

@@wiinterflowers4277 It's funny and tragic because they MADE her like that. They made her into an absolute demon. Her family and the doctors in Arkham TORTURED her into becoming crazy and evil when she was just innocent and a sane morally good person at the start. Yeah she was the daughter of a mob boss but that’s not her fault as you can’t choose who your parents are and she kept away from her father’s business as best as she could. Even when her father offered her to take control of the family crime business, she tried to reject the offer because she knew it was wrong to be a criminal, but eventually she would take her father's place but NOT in the way that he expected her to because she makes her own crime family due to her own descent towards evil that was caused by him which wasn't her fault AT ALL.
But because of one mistake that could make her own mob boss of a father look bad, She got sent to asylum for NO valid reason, have everyone try to gaslight her, and ended by becoming the very thing that the doctors were supposed to treat for her, an insane person.
They tortured an innocent sane girl who was trying to treat and save other women with their own problems into a villainous insane woman who became a ruthless crazy killer crime lord due to all of the tormenting in Arkham.
This is a tragic villain origin story because while tragedy explains actions and it does not defend them, it’s still 100% NOT her fault on how she ends up this way despite that because her father, her family members and these very doctors tortured her nonstop into becoming the monster she said she wasn’t and ended becoming even worst than what was claimed her for.
Their very own Frankenstein’s monster of their own making.
I still hope Sofia gets revenge against the doctors here in Arkham as they are NOT treating the patients but making them worst and even most insane than ever as the patients here aren’t getting the help they need.
It just goes to show on how deep the corruption of Gotham truly is as almost every aspect as that place, even a place where their supposed to be treating, is filled with corrupt individuals who are making things worse as their almost all under Carmine’s payroll to torture and gaslight his own father JUST because she let something slip up once.
Honestly, she’s very calm and restrictive immediately after getting out of Arkham in the first episode after going through this for 10 years as the ONLY reason she got out of Arkham is because the Riddler killed Carmine Falcone in the Batman movie. If he was still alive, she would still be in Arkham getting tortured nonstop for the rest of her life as she was never supposed to get out but ONLY got out because Riddler killed her day.
This is one crazy villain origin story of self fulfilling prophecy of becoming the very thing she said she wasn’t and didn’t want to be at all, a crazy killer.

1:09 Brilliant pieces of acting/direction/editing here. Batman looks down on Falcone and gives the most Un-Batman looking look you can think of (slightly wide eyed, likely doesn't quite know what to do in the moment with Falcone going to die any second. One can almost imagine him as the young boy looking down on Falcone when Thomas Wayne operated on him in the manor, but then he sort of leans forward and his expression almost hardens).
It's also a kind of comeuppance for Falcone. The impression I got of him was that he saw Bruce as 'one of his own,' or at least in his pocket. Sure, he knew Bruce disliked him, but he saw him as a young rich boy, certainly not someone capable of taking him on. The impression I got here was that he figured out in his dying moments that Bruce was in fact Batman, and he realised for the first time what that scared young boy he saw all those years ago was truly capable of.
Anyway, it's a great moment. Matt Reeves is a fantastic director. Looking forward to Part 2.

I agree that this is good acting, I took it as batman realizing that he basically played right into riddler's hands and helped him execute one of his biggest targets by literally bringing him into the light and were riddler was posted up with a sniper rifle. I think batmans reaction is even him doubting whether his actions are truly that of a hero and, him struggling with being a vigilante. Even riddler acknowledges this in prison when he assumes that batman was his partner in crime and helped him on purpose.

I know I won't be the only one to say that after episode 4 of The Penguin, Carmine Falcone deserved worse. Not death, but to experience the real Arkham Asylum treatment like a character I won't mention because of spoilers. This man literally creates the women who hate men. The Riddler was a Hero in hindsight but had misguided anger due to innocent civilians being hurt by his actions. But his main targets did much worse than he did. Especially Carmine Falcone! That man was powerful and evil.

By pulling out his weapon, he probably realized his constant chase for power was meaningless and wanted to avenge her.

Seeing those episodes of the Penguin really makes up for the reasons for why Oz would be this bold to make a life threatening attempt on Carmine even if it mean’t risking his freedom to pulling a gun out in front of all those cops including Batman of all ppl who could restrain him at any moment,
Penguin series really highlighted jus how much of a evil man Carmine really was perhaps more crueler than Salvatore Maroni hanging women was one thing but killing Sofia’s mother and framing his own daughter for his crimes to have her institutionalized to a nut house when he himself was in fact the REAL Hangman is jus downright evil and now it all makes sense for why Catwoman would go thru all this trouble jus to murder one man, The Riddler may have been a madman but if theres one thing we should all thank him for is bringing justice to the lives Don Falcone ruined
