You convinced me to buy a used x20 last week. And man it's freaking awesome. It's exactly what I was looking for since I began photography back in 2013. It's the camera I always wanted I never new existed. Thanks
In essence, the ergonomics of the camera have a direct impact on one's enjoyment of taking photographs. I have just bought, the successor to the X20, an X30 which has an high resolution EVF which I prefer to an optical viewfinder if only to avoid any potential problem with parallax. With regard to the reference to cameras in phones, cramming ever more pixels onto a tiny sensor, and relying on computational algorithms to produce an acceptable image may well satisfy many users, but for me the major defining factor is the size of the sensor, and the quality of the lens. A Fuji X20 may only have a 12mp sensor, but it's size, and the lens quality, will enable it to hold it's own against smartphone cameras.
very recently picked up an X100 (original) and can honestly say, it is a joy to shoot. It will not replace the DSLR but I can carry it everywhere and push myself further with its fixed focal length. It weighs so much less hahaha
Thank you for this right on video. I went out and bought and x20 two months ago and I love it. How can a 10 year old camera be this much fun. Thank you again!
this camera IS amazing and a gem. I bought 2 when they cost $125. Now they are back up to $400. The SUPER MACRO is beyond amazing on this camera. Autofocus and stabilization.
Fuji is my favorite brand simply because they r soo fun to shoot with!!! I damn love the x100 line and new X-Pro3... Best for street photography. I really want one of those x20s
It's not an 1 inch Sensor, it's an 2/3" size X-Trans Sensor inside the X20 & X30, X30 with EVF, X10 & X20 with OVF. X10 has no X-Trans Sensor, btw. And 2/3" (inch) is much smaller than 1 inch Sensor, btw.
Just purchased a beautiful specimen and very happy about that. Your video puts it exactly to the point. Also I have other cameras, which dissolve better and have larger sensors; but this little Fuji is really fun to use.... the most important for making good pictures. Thank you! Andy
I did really enjoy this video because it's how I feel too as I recently bought a Fujifilm finepix x100 ( the others cameras I own are Canon mirrorless, so I do love tech) but this tiny little camera it's amazing, I can take with me everywhere, take amazing photos and enjoy the fuji recipes colors, also reminds when I start my journey with photography, it's all fun and easy to use.
The sensor isn't a one inch sensor, it's a two thirds of an inch sensor. Good camera though, I still have and use mine mainly for street photography and close up shots
Excellent.I always say that the best camera in the world is the camera that makes you happy and motivates you to get out and take pictures. You have to love the camera. You can have the best camera in the world but if you don’t love it and you don’t connect with it it’s going to sit on the shelf and in that instance it’s not the best camera in the world is it?
Larry McCormick Bremerton Watched it at least 4 times now and completely agree with you 100% ! Love the camera and loved the review. And also, LOVE your photos as well ! Keep up the great reviews. LarryMac
Totally agree, and DYNAMIC MODE is Fantastic! Super macro mode also, silence too! I have buy my since 2015, in occasion, and i don't want to sel him! 🤗 🌙
Lovely review keep up the good work and keep shooting and doing what gives you pleasure. I enjoyed this review and how you spoke of photography. I share many of the same sentiments. Now im off to go outside and shoot!
You are absolutely right. I think it would be even better of you don‘t have a zoomlens. With a fix focal length you don‘t have to think about to choose the area. So I like my Fuji X70.
Larry McCormick Bremerton, WA THANKS for the video on my favorite digital camera so far. I love this camera and the X10 as well. They really do inspire me to get out there and they're always with me. But I must admit there's an X100F or the next Version coming in my near future. But I feel like I'll always have my X20 with me at all times because I'm so happy with it. Thanks, Larry
Great intelligent review! I have mine for over 2 years now and bought it because of the optical vf unfortunately it went bezerk last year !! just is out of focus... are you aware of this problem? BTW no need to apologize you give GREAT and honest reviews... so thanks ;0)
Great video! I want to get into photography, found a used x20 for ~$160. do u think its worth it? I'm also looking at the x30, was wondering if u have used it as well. Thanks!
I don't want to be that guy but I wish this camera had a APS-C sensor. I don't know if that would compromise the compact design. Overall this camera looks like a nice tool.
@@ZXTech I compare the size of this camera to my Nikon Coolpix A (with APS-C sensor) and wonder why not? I am guessing it would cut into their X100x market.
does the x20 have better image quality than the camera on the iphone 7? i was going to buy the x20 on ebay for like $200 and i’m not sure if it would be worth it if i already have a phone camera.

Probably the most sensible intelligent review of the X20 I've ever seen. .. You've nailed it smack on the head...Good job..:)

The way you describe photography ( in a good way) you would enjoy shooting film
+Richard Seekins i do enjoy film, but i dont have the funds or time to :(
I have the same exact camera. I totally agree with your point man. It really makes you happy to hold and shoot.
very recently picked up an X100 (original) and can honestly say, it is a joy to shoot. It will not replace the DSLR but I can carry it everywhere and push myself further with its fixed focal length. It weighs so much less hahaha
+Simon James its really fun and convenient
Thank you for this right on video. I went out and bought and x20 two months ago and I love it. How can a 10 year old camera be this much fun. Thank you again!
Glad you love it!
I just picked one up this week. It's a charming little thing
Very good spoken, exactly what I feel, when I use my x10. Recently I bought it and I am happy with it; high Quality and very ergonomic.
Yo, X20 bro, Please don't be too hard on yourself, we all have doubts, keep the faith and keep going - Hi5 T
this camera IS amazing and a gem. I bought 2 when they cost $125. Now they are back up to $400. The SUPER MACRO is beyond amazing on this camera. Autofocus and stabilization.
This camera is really quite good
I learnt everything I know about photography on my X10, I now use a Ricoh GR 1, and Fuji XF10 and my main kit is an Olympus OMD 5 Mark ii
Fuji is my favorite brand simply because they r soo fun to shoot with!!! I damn love the x100 line and new X-Pro3... Best for street photography. I really want one of those x20s
Yea I agree
I absolutely love how you express yourself :)
Thanks for your review based on your experience - not technical specs! Well done! Btw, your photos are nice.
Glad you like them!

I did enjoy that, pal.
I was drawn to this camera today, and bought it.
I believe I understand this video 100%
Thank you, and peace be with you 😌
Sorry for asking, but how much did you pay for it in 2020?
Great video! You're a great voice for the medium.

What a wonderful honest review. I too own an x20 and fully agree with everything you say.
I own one and I think the image quality is better than a smart phone.
not in 2019 I think.

I owe a Nikon P7800 and I like it... But I'm very attracted of the design of the X20. Which one do you think is the best? Thanks...

I J i got one today for 30 dollars lol
I have an X10 and an X100, love them both, curious to know if you use RAW or jpeg
+Julie Holland both depending on my mood haha
I love my small sensor X30!
I don't want to be that guy but I wish this camera had a APS-C sensor. I don't know if that would compromise the compact design. Overall this camera looks like a nice tool.
+Jose Juarez larger sensor means larger lens so yeah probably won't work out:/
@@ZXTech I compare the size of this camera to my Nikon Coolpix A (with APS-C sensor) and wonder why not? I am guessing it would cut into their X100x market.
Did u edited your Photos which u have presented in the video or is this RAW? :)
Edited
Just color work in lightroom

+Minervaaa nah image quality is about the same but its wayyyyy more fun
The X20 will give a better color rendering as well.
Nice sight on the subject of photography ...
But I doubt the point of "image quality of a cell phone" ...
Did you ever try another x-series camera?
TheSheepherd do you have any shots you can show me please ?😩
