Then he should of had an opinion on this horrible story arc of Yen about to sacrifice Ciri (of course she doesn't go through with it) but that character would never do that. This was never in the source material nor cannon. It would of been great if they went a different route there
I’m part of team that prefers Anya’s Yennefer vs the game Yennefer. We actually see her grow from an insecure girl to a confident but still human mage. I also could understand her action in the series because she’s still in the process of discovering her priorities in life. Like in S1 she’s all about getting powerful, being confident, getting beauty but then she’s met with tasks that’s against her inner goodness and to rely on other people. But then she’s tested when she doubts her feelings/their feelings because of a wish so she goes back to craving power. Which brings us to S2 where her actions are actually justified given the circumstances that she tried to deny her feelings for Geralt, that she just needed her power to live in their world, and that she already gave her most priced possession/ability to conceive so why not someone else’s child. But still her inner goodness comes out and she saves her enemy, sacrifices her body as a vessel, and actually helps Ciri know herself/power more than any other mage could.
I 100% agree. And in such a world during those times, if she doesn't have her powers and with her reputation, it's sad to say that there wouldn't be much for her by way of a comfortable life.
It's still horribly inconsistent writing, just like the rest of the series. Besides, by this point in the series, she's 80-90 years old. She should already have herself far more figured out.
the show itself is still good, I find the plot, cinematography and acting in general all to be quite good. The dialogue could be a tad more thought-out, but imo there are plenty of reasons it's performing as well as it is
One things the series has struck gold with is that the characters are all portrayed so well by the respective actors; and there is such good chemistry between them all. I loved Ciri's actions and acting in this scene, while she's jealous of Daddy being affectionate with anyone else, she also doesn't want to interrupt this intimate moment he's clearly having.
Interesting, because I never saw Ciri as being jealous, just intrigued by Yen. This is the first she’s seeing of her, but knowing of her for awhile now. She sees how much Geralt is different around Yen compared to others (Triss) prime example. She’s seen him cry over her, at the aftermath of Sodden, so jealously I didn’t get that feeling, but more of an intrigue. Like, why is this man/mutant so enamored by this woman. He/Witcher’s are not supposed to feel?!?
@@sakthis357 You can't expect a TV show to be a one to one retelling of a book series. Things that are interesting in written form can often be boring when acted out. I also wasn't sure what to think of the changes but after finishing the season I am very happy with how it all played out. Except for killing off Eskel that was fucked. But you can't deny that the acting performances of the cast were very good.
@@MrMighty147 I completely agree with you, I also love how it's playing out. As for the Eskel bit, I was a little confused too. But I think Eskel would be "replaced" by Coen. Not sure why but seems plausible. Also for people who are only going to be watching the series, Eskel dying wouldn't be that big a deal since they didn't really get enough time to bond with the character. So in totality, the number of witchers in focus would remain the same: Vesemir, Lambert and Coen (Eskel).
@@sakthis357 Henry Cavill has gone on record to say that he's willing to do as many seasons as they want so long as they stay true to the source. You just answered your own question, she's beautiful without all that stuff on. It's better when women look more natural, rather than look like painted dolls.
I don't think Anya gets enough love with how she's portraying Yennifer, especially with how the writers write her. She's a little...off, from the books, but Anya does a great job of imbibing her with that book essence. She is a stand out, for me.
Book reader & gameplayer here. This series has been INCREDIBLE and the actors/actresses LITERALLY could not have been any more perfectly cast. Across the board, they’re amazing. I might be in the minority but I love that they are staying so true to the books while rearranging elements of the books to make for a more interesting/suspenseful 8 part journey per season. As much as I love the books & the games - i think they have improved upon the story here in the series! It’s fun to see a familiar story but also have some new elements/twists that are unexpected. The deathless mother was an awesome addition and felt so true to what would appear in the books.
I felt like the Yennefer and Geralt scenes were so disappointing. It was almost like a touch and go. I hope their love and connection will be stronger next season.
@@larochejaquelein3680 I am aware but the show is a different adaptation. Yes, it's based on the books but it is not going to be the exact same as it's a different medium.

She’s seen him cry over her, at the aftermath of Sodden, so jealously I didn’t get that feeling, but more of an intrigue. Like, why is this man/mutant so enamored by this woman. He/Witcher’s are not supposed to feel?!?
she's not jealous lmao, that sounds kinda weird
@@itsflowerside just his time, she's happy that he has some kind of intimate relationship
"Sorry."
"Ciri.."
"Sooooorrryyy..."
Geralt and yennefer love Forever 💞💞❤️♥️
I just hope they ALL get nominated and win Emmy's for their performances this season. Magnificent acting from you all.
Freya certainly should. I think there aren't any other actors that could have been more fitting for the role.
No not for this season. Last season was far better than this season. I am waiting for 3rd, Hopefully they follow books rather than doing on own ideas.
He's also a fan and he also doesn't want this to become another GoT debacle. That being said, simply following the books without doing at least some things different would simply be too boring for most people to watch.
id fight a war for Anya
I just discovered The Witcher & it is everything! How long I gotta wait til Season 3 cause this is torture 😫
anya is not wearing makeup at all.(or a thin layer of it)..nt even a tint of lip color.....how????? is she still so freaking gorgeous?
You just answered your own question, she's beautiful without all that stuff on. It's better when women look more natural, rather than look like painted dolls.
I love Felicia Day doing this after show, makes me re-enjoy the series all over again.
Henry of Nvidia: Knows exactly whats going on in the season.
Everbody else: "I have no idea, I just make cool scenes..."
Henry of Nvidia HAHAHAHAH
@@maliciamimi2165 also known as 'Geralt of Nvidia' or 'Henry of Cavill'.
Season 2 has too many scenes of Ciri practising combat but far too little screen time for Yenn and Geralt. We need more of them in season 3!!!!
Am I the only one HYPED at the fact that Charlie from Supernatural is a Witcher fan?
Henry securing that bed time at the end. My man.
I don't know how Anya is able to survive Henry's barrage of compliments, I would die
I felt like the Yennefer and Geralt scenes were so disappointing. It was almost like a touch and go. I hope their love and connection will be stronger next season.
Probably cause she tried to kill his kid.
Fun fact in the books Yennefer and Geralt are almost always separated.
Have u read books or u always day dream some kind of fantasy romance🤣🤣🤣
@@saya-gi9gk This is the SHOW, not the BOOKS. The producers ship them so they ARE going to be a couple. Get off your high horse and be flexible.
@@larochejaquelein3680 I am aware but the show is a different adaptation. Yes, it's based on the books but it is not going to be the exact same as it's a different medium.
I find it funny how both Anya and Freya are uncofortable because they are not so on geek fantasy, on the contrary to Henry and Joey. Its like the two ladies who are listening a dnd campaign while the others are playing.
Believe it or not but actors and actresses there's a lot of them that are just extremely shy in real life, They have not been in a game long enough to be 100% comfortable in front of a camera
@@blackalphagaming8010 yes. Many of them are introverts. They just love acting but they don’t like the interview and events component of stardom.
2:30 Nice one Henry
Love this cast. Can't wait to see it get bigger!
How bigger? The cast with it's replacements, or the popularity of the show?👀 Bcs I'm almost certain the latter will decrease with Cavill's departure. People (especially fans of the books and games) aren't pleased with the producers and how they handled it all
Anya: All right, okay, I've gotta work :P
" Average saturday at my house " these guys are funny :)
