  • Hardships, trials and tribulations are all struggles we have to overcome, but how can hold tight to our faith during a time of hurt and confusion? This lecture will discuss how we can turn back to Allah and feel His presence through our struggles, and how we can take lessons about being steadfast during tragedies from the Qur'an and Sunnah.
    Ustadhah Yasmin Mogahed has just launched YMTV, her new online TV channel, and has authored two books: Love and Happiness and Reclaim Your Heart, which have received international acclaim. Yasmin is currently an instructor for AlMaghrib Institute and Al-Buruj Press. She is also a writer for the Huffington Post, an international speaker, and an invited lecturer at Oxford, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and many other universities around the world. She received her B.S. Degree in Psychology and her Masters in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing her graduate work, she taught Islamic Studies and got heavily involved in community youth work. Yasmin is currently working on a new book, which should be released in 2021, insha Allah.
    The I.LEAD conference is one of the remarkable annual events held by the United Muslim Organizations in Ottawa and Gatineau (UMO-OG) with its 12 member mosques in the National Capital Region. The conference target audience is the Muslim community youth and the public in general. It showcases a number of prominent scholars and influential speakers, besides the bazaar and its exceptional shopping experience.
