This song is called city of the spring (from context I understood that by 'spring' he means his young years in Lviv). Lviv is an old city and is famous for coffee that Kulchytsky brought to Lviv (that is why there is coffee mentioned in lyrics). Lions are one of the symbols of Lviv. Also we have a river in the center of the city that is hidden under the ground (called Poltva), so our Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet is directly above this river. So in fact the author is linking the major associations from his life with associations of the city of his young years.

Surprisingly, I first heard this song from a recording of a concert that OE did a few hours ago in Lviv, and immediately fell in love with this song. Lviv is a city of lions and coffee, it has an extraordinary atmosphere and culture, the band Okean Elzy and many other bands started here. "On the bank of a river that does not exist" - because this river now flows underground. I haven't been to many places, but I know for sure that Lviv is the most beautiful place.
