Beautiful scenery, wow. Amazing history of this ghost town. Great videography and drone work. Looks like an amazing trip. Looking forward to the remaining videos.
Great video. Your viewers might want to know that you usually cannot get to Kirwin in the spring and early summer because the snow runoff makes the river impassable.
Great video. Moved to Wyoming two years ago, in the Bighorn Basin. Finally made the trip up there late June, 2023. We parked down low and took side x side's up the trail. Beautiful country. Heard a comment about running water up there. You may have noticed a pipe coming off the mountain, lead pipe i think. This was a gravity feed water supply from springs up hill from the town. Loving it out here, so much more to explore.
Thank you for making that arduous journey out there! I traveled out there in 2014 and filmed a documentary about Kirwin and actually spent the night in the old mill. What an amazing place! I haven’t seen it in 9 years until today! Kirwin the impossible journey is the name of the film. The trailer is on RUclips! The drone shots are incredible I had the first gen DJI Phantom without any stabilization or true GPS lock so footage was difficult back then! Awesome video, thanks again!
We did this late September last year, such a fun drive, love all of the water crossings. Love the old ghost town. We hit rain and snow, which just make it an even better experience. Great video👍
Absolutely loved the video!! Planning on moving to WY next year. Thanks so much for sharing your adventure! Stunning scenery, amazing shots!! The music was so perfect, too. Would you mind posting the music credits?
Such a great sound track to go with the very beautiful footage taken, sheer pleasure a blend of sight and sound. A real professional, as always we love your work and time taken to share your experiences of areas I look forward to the sound of trumpet in the sound track, or Flugel horn? Thank you!
@@melissaweber4622 I’d plan for a whole day. It’s a great trip that one does not want to rush, first because of the area’s beauty and, second, because of the road conditions. Also, doing it in September as we did, the river crossings were not nearly as deep as portrayed in this video.
Bill, another great video and excellent background music pairing! Once did a winter training with SAR just up valley from there total white out on landing... spooky... where Kirwin is located would be super challenging even today in the winter...... went up ther e a few times in my old YJ, would be a far better adventure in the summer in my JT!
My daughter and I went to thru Wyoming to see the Grand Tetons on our way to Yellowstone. This was supposed to be on our list of places to see but time said otherwise. We'll save it for another trip !!
@@CoddiwompleOverland thanks! My daughter and I have been exploring for a few years now. Planning a Flat Tops trip next year and possibly this Kirwin trip. She’s warming up to shelf roads so I’m trying to find fun stuff that’s not too spooky. Really appreciate the content and the reply.
Some of those cabins/homes in Kirwin looked like there was some recent partial repairs made to them. Do you know if anyone or organization is preserving this ghost town?
@@davidtennyson4908 Thanks. What kind of car/truck did you use? I want to go, too. But I don't have anything like a 4x4. I might have to do it the old fashion way by horse.
Nice video, thanks. However, treaties with American Indians weren't "up: that is, they didn't expire. They were supposed to be perpetual. What "up" means in this case is that the treaty was abrogated, i.e., broken, by the US government, probably when gold was discovered in the treaty lands.
Awesome video as always Coddiwomple Overland. The views are spectacularly beautiful.
Thank you!
What a scenic area, you captured it quite well. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching

How long is the drive from Meeteetse? In the next week, assuming river is mellow.
I do not remember how long it took.
@@pc1408 I think about a half hour on pavement, then roughly twenty minutes on dirt? We brought food and ate by the river.
Incredible trail and destination. The broad river crossing were made even more spectacular with the drone views.
Thanks!
We had such an amazing time with you guys! Definitely a trip we will remember forever! Thank you so much for allowing us to tag along! Love you guys!
Thank you for coming along.

I could only imagine living in such a beautiful place in those times. That would make for such an awesome hunting camp. Beautiful...
We talked alot about stepping back in time.
@@CoddiwompleOverland yes, how much simpler and enjoyable it seems life would have been.

@@CoddiwompleOverland Welcome!!!
Of all the places I’ve been there’s just no place like Wyoming!
We felt the same way!
Beauty full
Yes indeed! Thanks for watching.
How deep would you say the crossings were? I have a crossover with 4WD, wondering if this would be doable.
They weren't very Deep when we were there but I'm sure they could get deep depending on time of year and weather
What time of year did you do this trail? I’m from Wyoming and will be hitting this trail again in about a month. Safe travels
We just finished Wyoming this month.
How far is the drive from Shepherdsville, KY. to this place in Wyoming.
Not sure Google maps can tell you.
what drone are you using?
DJI Mavic 2s
I have a Jeep..I need to get out more lol 👍👍
Yes you do
Is camping allowed on this trail?
Yes

Kirwin would be great!

Was told the Forrestry Dept repairs just enough to keep these buildings standing. Was up there June 23,2023, beautiful!
We are not sure.

Are those trees dead?
Many of them are.
I want to know who was working that door from the inside...
No body! 😳😬
