Also worth mentioning, is that this is meant to be a lighter, less expensive day pack at roughly half to a third of the price of their Military inspired packs. Completely different use case and price point.

I’m pretty sure that Mystery Ranch pitched this as a trail running pack, which is why you would want the super light materials and the vest style harness.
Disclaimer: I work for an outdoor retailer. These are my own opinions and do not reflect those of the company I work for.

Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙 It's pretty huge for trail running!

Hey great review. They have a S/M size, is that for kids or something? Not used to S-Xl sizing for packs.

Interesting that Mystery Ranch has just been bought by Yeti. It’ll probably make them much more mainstream.

What size is displayed in the video? (S/M) or (M/L)

Would a framesheet make a difference?

Interesting to see how MR is trying to appeal to those of us in the UL community. Still not light enough for UL, and do the compromises take away from their mainstream appeal?

Let's say you compress it down as much as you can and tie it up with an elastic strap or something like that, would it fit into a Scree 32? If so would it take too much space?
I'm going to use my scree 32 next year to travel (one bagging), but i find it a bit overkill to take with me daily for the few items i'll take for the day. So my idea is to bring another smaller pack that fits into the scree as a day pack.
So far i had the MR In and out and both of the Matador Beasts in mind since they are packable, but the gallagator seems to be fairly easy to compress. I'm juste not sure if it would take too much space. Also it's quite literraly a lighter/tone down version of the scree in terms of look and features when you think about it!
Hope you'll see this, thanks in advance 😁

Why does "What we are used to" for materials matter for the review? Preconceived notions of brands and brand quality drive reviews?

I think it’s important to note a change in materials when a company makes significant change to what they usually produce. For example, it would be a huge deal if Carhart were to change their materials completely, that would be incredibly important to note in a review because the material is mainly why people buy it.

@dustinfournier2328 that's fine as long as the price point and use case is also mentioned. The galligator isn't meant to replace a Blitz30 or one of MRs heavy duty bags. It's a trail runner or day pack that is meant to be light and cheap.

@@qudjy1 Exactly so it is mentioned
