    DM is definitely my favorite store in Germany.I prefer to buy normal food at LIDL and fresh products at the Wochenmarkt.Of course, I also shop at local bakeries and butchers. In general, I can say that, as far as my finances allow, I prefer to support local businesses rather than large chains.

    I live in NRW and love some of DM Denk mit products e.g. dishwasher tabs and paper towels, shower gels.
    However, as far as natural/organic cosmetics as concerned, I order them from Poland, since my home country has a much wider range of skincare and make up of that type. DM has just started locating their shops there as well.
    I must say, for 55 euros you have bought a great amount of food! I prefer Edeka to Rewe, but in both stores a new sushi chain has stared operating. They prepare sushi in front of you, everything is super fresh and tasty.
    I really enjoyed watching your film, food haul is one of my fav topics.
    Greetings from Dortmund:)

    Enjoy your DM haul. The product you are showing I would like to try someday. I visit Germany. Since, I am trying buy organic and natural products. That is very difficult in the US. Since, most of the brand contain little ingredient are expensive. The items that are cost a little is not good for your skin or health.

    Hi Antoinette!
    When I see all the plastic bottles, and it really doesn't matter if they are "recycled" or not because eventually this will be just burnt or even land in the seas, I'd like to point you to DM's assortment of solid shower and shampoo soaps, not to speak of normal solid soap for hands and face which also come in all qualities, but are much, much more energy and resources conserving in comparison to any liquid soap.
    You really have to look for them, because while they have basically the same ingredients, but minus water, emulgators, preservatives, and other chemical additives to keep it liquid, they take up probably less than 5% of the shelf space and can be overlooked very easily. They seem expensive at first, but one has to realize that they last at least as long as the bottled soaps where you essentially have 95% water and just a little of soap in it. And since they don't need all the preservatives and additives, they are better for your skin and the environment. Not to mention that they don't come with any plastic but instead are wrapped in cardboard or paper.
    DM has solid shampoo and shower soap under its own brands Balea, Alverde, No Planet B as well as from brand names like SebaMed or Foamie, and of course they have special types for baby care. It's really worth a try. Just search for the terms "feste Dusche", "festes Shampoo", or "feste Spülung" (yes, solid conditioner, too ) on DM's home page.
    In a sense, you have to relearn using this because liquid soap is so omnipresent, but I found it definitely worth the advantages to switch. Personally, I have noticed that the usual shower gel makes you even use much more water because it's so sticky, and I don't feel clean until it's washed off very thoroughly.
    Take care!

    Gosh. I’m beginning to wonder if I’m the only woman in the world who hasn’t bought many skincare or beauty products during my lifetime 🤔 I’m in my late fifties and apart from shampoo and conditioner, I’ve never bought any other hair products 🤔 I’ve never bought body wash/ shower gel. I always use soap 😮 Soap is cheaper, and body washes weren’t around when I was young, so I think to myself, “Why do I need them? “ The only skincare products I used to buy were hand creams. I must be too practical.

    • @mogon721
      @mogon721 2 года назад

      It's all just marketing. You don't need all that stuff. But how do you make all those women buy products that cost more than their weight in gold unless you create fears of aging skin and looking through elaborate marketing campaigns? There have been studies that showed how all those expensive anti-wrinkle cremes have no better effect than good old Nivea...

    If "alverde" is supposed to sound Italian, then it would be pronounced "al värde" 🙂
    Idk why bio products in Germany always have names that sound Italian, sadly we really aren't such an eco-friendly country yet 😓

      because many german young people prefer the more international english than their native language and many think english has a kinda cooler vibe so it's often picked by marketing; 3rd reason might be same package for multiple countries
