Strachan doesn’t get the credit he deserves got us to the last 16 twice won 3 out of 4 titles against a strong rangers side and won 3 cups. Mightn’t have come in as a Celtic man but left as 1.🍀🍀

I'd forgotten this game. It's great to see just how good this group were. Especially Hinkel and Nakamura. If you slow down the huddle at the end with Strachan, the reaction is priceless. Go to 1:42:08, click the cog on the timebar and set the payback speed to .25. Who's next to Strach? Broony and NL. Then at the end i guess Strach simply stated what they were gonna do, and in the sequence which might have involved himself having his own wee moment walking down the pitch singing Jack The Knife. Quite an incredible day.
You might also want to turn the mute the sound whenever slowing down the footage.

Wish Strachan was still the manager now, I don’t think his achievements at the time were fully recognised or appreciated. The task Lennon currently has is so much easier. Glentoran and Celtic forever
Gordon Strachan was an unsung hero and is still to only Celtic manager to be in the Champions League after Christmas 2 years running.
Signing Robson for an already great midfield. Beating original Rangers, when it mattered and going on an unbeaten run, the sad death of Tommy Burns, what an ending to the season.
Robbo and Pele dragged us to that title.

Celtic didn’t want to play Rangers after Phil O’Donnel died because they knew Rangers were maybe facing a fixture pile up then after Tommy Burns died they couldn’t wait to play.
The matches were cancelled as a mark of respect to Phil Odonnell and his family, who tragically died on the pitch only a couple of days before.
Delaying this match against Dundee utd would have served no purpose as Tommy burns had been ill for a long time and it was not as much of a shock. It would not have made a difference to the outcome of the title regardless. When the Rangers match was postponed I remember that reschedule allowed McGeady to serve a ban he had and to play in the match. Nothing to do with cheating. Rangers threw the league away that year on their own merits.
Niall Murray Motherwell understandably didn’t want to play and Celtic jumped on this to have the match against Rangers postponed. They knew Rangers were strong but may face a fixture pile up.
