You're literally the BEST art teacher! I paid for a lot of art tutorials but I still feel I learned the most important things from you. I am hyped whenever you upload. Love u! :)
Part 1: ruclips.net/video/qvwUP5yjejs/видео.html Part 3: ruclips.net/video/VmekmH0QJMs/видео.html If you liked that little color lesson, consider my ~4-hour 'COLOR SURVIVAL GUIDE' video class! It's got pretty much everything you want to know about using color: tinyurl.com/45kd4e57 Some Grease Pencil Brushes: cloud.blender.org/p/gallery/5f235cc297f8815e74ffb90b My Texture painting brushes: www.dropbox.com/sh/z5y384jqz9ypk7y/AADDbvlCJz-mBXjvj20gRvLPa?dl=0 ALSO - 3:15 I totally reversed the sunlight direction there! Chalk that up to me cramming way too much filming into one day. D'oh! (The color lesson, though, still holds up.) Happy creating!
I know this sounds like a paid testimony but I promise it's not! :) I highly recommend the color survival guide. I've paid for a lot of color courses that only left me slightly less intimidated when applying to my own artwork. However this was the first course that allowed me to build confidence and most importantly have fun! Thank you Marco Bucci for all that you do.
A much easier way to set the 3D cursor in your workflow is to hold the shift key and then right click where you want your cursor to be in your current view. It will backwards project the 3D position onto the correct surface/object.
Grease Pencil is the best! Texture brushes give so much creative control in so many ways! You can also mix modifiers and effects to get some interesting looks / animations to your strokes with just few clicks :) Great tutorial man!
Great video! Here's a tip: You can just set the 3d-cursor with shift+right-click. It will set it on the surface of whatever you click. The way you do it is a great way to get the cursor into a very precise location, but for this kind of thing I think shift+right-click will be good enough and save a lot of time. Again, thanks for the vid!
Almost everything i know about color i know because of your videos, very grateful for these amazing videos. Also love that you demonstrate, using the pattern of how colors work in reality to stylizing the color choices and keeping the believibility that comes with that pattern
I've been wanting to learn Blender for a long time but it seems so complicated to learn-- but seeing as how they've implemented 2D into this with the Greaser pencil, there's no way I'm not learning Blender now. This is exciting! Would love to see more of these!
It's so fun, and I'm trying my best to keep everything in this tutorial series beginner-friendly! (After all, I consider myself a relative beginner at Blender, too!)
Well, I'm more like coming from Blender / 3D. I began there, because I didn't wanna think about perspective, colors, light and stuff (it's generated for you when rendering). But with this series, you are opening the world a little bit for me for 2D. I really love the connection between them. I always liked these 2D shows on TV, when they have some 3D elements (camera movement). Family Guy does this pretty often these days, but also Gravity Falls.
I love Blender and have been on the fence of getting into the grease pencil tool for some time now. Will jump into it thanks to your, as always inspiring tutorials! :)
🤯🤯🤯 So many awesome things about color thanks! Side note: as sculptor never felt right the division between 2d-3d disciplines though is neccessary for geometric use and understanding, 2d is a pure abstract idea while 3d is like behind the nature of any production, as very well you explain with colour & light. Cheers
17:30 if the transparent background still doesn't work, go to the Material » Settings » Blend Mode and try "Alpha Hashed" or "Alpha Blend". It worked for me :)
I am not even digital artist , I'm fine artist student who does ibis paint x once in a while , but your videos help me everywhere. Recently my teacher appreciated me saying how drastically I've improved. All I did was to watch your videos and apply that knowledge while practicing.
Honestly, I have learned a LOT about grease pencil with this and when you added the custom brushes and especially the atmosphere, my jaw dropped. It is 3:30am currently so I will have to try this out later but I am excited to explore things I never thought possible.
i did download blender a while ago. its like having a christmas present sitting around that i havent gotten to open yet! its amazing what sort of stuff is possible with digital tools today..
You don't need to go into edit mode to change the position of the 3d cursor, you can reposition it by just holding shift and right clicking where you want it to be.
Yo! Any way we could get an affiliate link for like 50% off that Laptop because DAMN it's expensive hahaha. Looks great but $4000 is a biiiit steep. At least blender is free :D Great video btw - the color theory lesson may just be exactly what I needed. Thank you!
yes, yes yes. Thank you. You are as the previous comment stated, the best. I have been learning blender (instead of tv or video games, i try to do a lesson in blender instead) for about 6 months and in that time have reached a skill level that allowed me to get a job as a 3d artist at a local tech company, practical learning launching my ability trajectory a bit. Instead of ConceptD i recently purchased the new Microsoft Surface Studio Laptop. It has similar specs to the conceptD by acer. I am loving it. The pen input is wonderful with good feedback as you draw, with resistance and a bit of texture emulated by a rumble within the pen. I wish companies would give us these devices with more range in power. Its very limited in customization, as is the conceptD. While the raw computing power is adequate, i wish there were options for real horsepower as well. An Nvidia 3050ti just isn't quite powerful enough. For extra $$$ i would like options to get ridiculous.
Wow it is super cool. I follow your step by step (it is my firt blender project). I have problem with grease pencil. It is doesnt work like yours do. I cant change colour etc. I am sure i will figure out where is problem. Still thx forl loot of fun!
Hi Marco. This isn't quite related to this video but I was wondering if you could make a video focusing more closely on edges in digital painting. I am struggling to learn how to paint edges for (the human face for example) and make it give the illusion of form with the paint. I always get muddy looking results that Don't look like the form. Think, the edge of the jaw and then the shadow the jaw is casting on the neck. I have a difficult time painting this transition and giving it form that reads correctly. Hopefully I'm explaining this well enough. But this is one of my biggest struggles with painting. I think I'm beginning to understand color a little more but form is something I need help with.
Another note....if you use the old blender or to me the only blender mouse mapping... Right click is select and left click places the cursor. If you are using the 'other mapping' its shift right click. As well, for clouds, you can fire up image editor. Create a alpha blank, and just paint the fog on it and use it the same way. Or create the plane, assign the texture, make the texture a blank and paint on it like you normally do. You can also do non-destructive photo manipulation with nodes, so you don't have to take the texture into photoshop, just bring in the assest into blender and node it up.
I love Blender and have been on the fence of getting into the grease pencil tool for some time now. Will jump into it thanks to your, as always inspiring tutorials! :)
hello, mister bucci, pls making a video on how to draw water and other liquids, you explain very well why things look like the way they do, your video on colors changing because of environment was intuitive and amazing, thank you
I want to learn blender but I don't know which laptop to use for it because I like to do so many things not just 3d but also graphic design, video and photo editing etc 😩
I've watched many of your videos on color theory along with even buying your courses. Yet each time a new video is made I still learn something from you.
Brilliant video. Quick tip : to move the 3d cursor to where u want it you just point and press shift and right click . No need for all the edit mode stuff. Works in all modes. cheers
Your videos are arguably the best art tutorials on the site man! Please back them up somewhere else in case youtube screws up. Odysee lets you sync your channel and then reuploads all your old and new videos, so that's a great option. Users on odysee would also love more videos. Please consider it or some other youtube alternative as backup.
the fact that your shadow on the sphere you painted in that stadium is on the wrong side is kinda distracting lol. Great video and tips, but the shadow pointing in the wrong direction is all my stupid brain can focus on right now, will come back later to watch this with a less distracted brain.
also @9:57 its better practice to drag in a new window and open the image in the image editor than import it as a plane especially since you're using it to pick colors
I am using 3dsmax Is there a grease pen and can i paint 3d models with color brushes in 3ds max ? And how render this scene in 3ds max what is render setting?
Wow! I've never heard this type of explanation before, and I love it. In my analytical mind, it makes perfect sense. Looking forward to more videos. Subscribed. P.S. I'd love it if you would put sequence numbers on your videos, so I could know which sequence to watch them in.
Instant subscribe from me!!!! I'm (very very very very very very slowly) making a short film in Blender and this looks like a fantastic way to make the backgrounds!!!! I've learned so much simply from watching this, especially about colors! I'm definitely going to consult your videos in the future for my sets/backgrounds!!! 😍😍😍😍
What a great tutorial! You mentioned in one part that you created your own .jpg file to create a new brush head. How did you do that? I've tried creting my own brush head textures before but never was able to come up with something I found useful.
Hot damn, for a bloody long while I've been fighting with getting to grips with just getting somewhat DECENT at working with colour just fiddling and referencing, but I think this just smashed a mental block to finally grab that horse by the reins. Awesome work, thank you for doing what you do! Got some homework to do, and more of your vids to watch!
Really great tutorial video! Thanks Marco. By the way, the grease pencil texture brush pack also can be imported from built-in menu. Go to Edit> Preferences> Add-ons. Find and tick "Grease Pencil Tool". Go to Draw Mode> Active tools and workspace settings tab> Brushes. Click downward arrow and choose download and import texture brush pack.

so true
Have you paid for any of his art tutorials in that case?
It seems maybe on a RGB color wheel that shooting path would've been more straight.

0:29 so you empty that cork bowl every January, right? Love the tips about movement through the colour wheel!
@@bonzairob hahaha. What you don't see are all the other cork-carrying receptacles I've got around the house! It's kinda become a theme over here.

Marco, you’ve always made the most sense to me in arriving at correct color relationships and values; thank you sir!

I love how you integrate basic art theory with a blender tutorial! This is so helpful, thank you so much for your content!
*Great tips, thank you for the tutorials :D .But really, a giant ball in the middle of a stadium is so out of context and hilarious though lmao 🤣🤣*
Damn, this guy is good at art! Your videos are always a gold mine of art wisdom.
Blender is the new best friend of every 2D artist. Thanks a lot Marco for this great showcase of how to utilize it :)
I love Blender and have been on the fence of getting into the grease pencil tool for some time now. Will jump into it thanks to your, as always inspiring tutorials! :)
If you click the 3D Cursor and then click the plane where you want it you can skip going into edit mode as the 3D cursor snaps to the surface
Me trying to absorb this knowledge bomb while super tired- 🤯😵
🤯🤯🤯 So many awesome things about color thanks!

next lvl tuturial, thanks for everything
I've bought so many of your classes, you're seriously one of my top 3 teachers and one of the largest influences on my art.
Who is the other?
To set the location of the cursor you can simply shift+ right click on the location you want.
Good tip!
Best Blender paint tutorial out there. Honestly, I wish ANY of my teachers in school were this good.
I swear my eyes have tears now 😭😭😍
I was looking for a program that can make my 3d drawings have a touch of 2d texture 😭😭😭😍 I love you 💕
The way you explain color theory in your videos makes those concepts so much less daunting to try to learn; always appreciate your videos!

This has been so insightful! I've absolutely devoured the information. Thank you so much!
everything leans warm when gray is added.... everything leans cool when shade is added. UuU but that's relative color theory.

Hi, Marco, I'd like to know your opinion about a tablet for drawing. Is it neccessary ?
super dope! loved to use blender :)
you're such a good teacher and it's amazing how this is free on youtube!
Too much complicated steps for painting this project.
The end result is just beautiful
The Concept D looks really cool, I would get one if I was a billionaire
Just wow, best guide I seen in a long time so far my fav art video
You made this tool finally speak to my mostly 2d mind TY
Марко это величайше!

Thumbs up! Your tutorial are excellent! Thank you so much for your efforts!
thank you, Marco, you are definitely the best artist teacher and creative mind!
Do you use a keyboard or gamepad or something when you use it in full tablet mode?
Calling your work "awesome" is such an understatement.
I think the most valuable part I learned was the color theory part of how colors work in nature!
1:33
4:10 how to choose where/ between which 2 colors to set warm and cool (Val range comparison) extremes?
Amazing video, thank you for these lessons, keep them up !
Yiippeeee! A new video from Marco 🙂This is a good day after all.
Thank yoj. I still didn't understand but thats a me problem
hey,
what you think about art in the game Dishonored? Do you like it ? If yes why?
also @9:57 its better practice to drag in a new window and open the image in the image editor than import it as a plane especially since you're using it to pick colors
can you do that tombstone detail in blender instead of photoshop? I don't have photoshop :/
my deephest gratitude for you my lord
and i'll here waiting for you to throw another gold again
This is such a COOL video for art. Ngl Im actually learning a lot
Another absolutely game-changing tutorial! Thank you, Marco.
I am using 3dsmax
Is there a grease pen and can i paint 3d models with color brushes in 3ds max ?
And how render this scene in 3ds max what is render setting?
спасибо за субтитры, обязательно посмотрю видео
How would I create a colour scheme if I want to do this during nighttime instead of the time of day you chose?
hey does the thin pen bother you? I'm used to working with a wacom pen
damn that's like THE blender tutoriel I've always wanted to see
Wow your content is really useful and good I appreciate it 😊
wow inspiring and such a great teacher thank you thank you thank you
Marco you r brilliant feeling lucky to have access to such a great artist
12:20 Bro you can just left click with your mouse and the cursor will snap to that place. This is unneccessary
A few folks have pointed this out. A good tip. Thanks!
The best ever! thank you for what you have created for us!!!
You can also us a combination of the sapling tree add on and texture paint to archive a similar result for the trees
i cant believe im learning all these for free, thanks Mr. Marco!
I like how the first few minutes nailed about 9 weeks of art classes
thank you soooo much for this!!! you save my life! TT
wow thank you It was usefull, I hope I could be able to get it.
You're the best.. Learning a lot from you
how can i make that smudgy brush T_T
Great video! One of these days I'm going to have to give this a try.
bless competent art teachers but especially you 🙏
Infinite blessings! Thank you!
Excellent tutorial. Thanks
WHAT DID I JUST WATCH! I've been doing art all my life, but never have I ever seen such a good video on colour theory like this!!! THANK YOU!!!
Wow! I've never heard this type of explanation before, and I love it. In my analytical mind, it makes perfect sense. Looking forward to more videos. Subscribed.

goldmine video...just incredible
Hot damn, for a bloody long while I've been fighting with getting to grips with just getting somewhat DECENT at working with colour just fiddling and referencing, but I think this just smashed a mental block to finally grab that horse by the reins.
Awesome work, thank you for doing what you do! Got some homework to do, and more of your vids to watch!
Omg I've been struggling with trying to find out how to make a character colors fit in a scene! THANK YOU Marco! 💙
MY MIND IS BLOWN. I FEEL LIKE IM OPENNING ME EYES FOR THE FIRST TIME
Great video! Love your way of demonstration and good luck on Part 3.
😆btw, are you still doing a online mentorship this year?
Really great tutorial video! Thanks Marco. By the way, the grease pencil texture brush pack also can be imported from built-in menu. Go to Edit> Preferences> Add-ons. Find and tick "Grease Pencil Tool". Go to Draw Mode> Active tools and workspace settings tab> Brushes. Click downward arrow and choose download and import texture brush pack.
WOW the amount of knowledge in this video is mind blowing. Thanks for sharing & hope you continue making tutorial like this
