Buying a Crystal Basket from Ron Coleman...and is it worth it??

- Hey guys! For a couple of years I have seen the baskets outside the front entrance tot he Ron Coleman Crystal Mine. I've always wanted to get one to see what might in them, but pride in me has always held off. "I'll find my own crystals." Well, during my last visit in mid-November, I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and try one. They had been priced at $150 for a couple of years, and now they had them for $115, so I figured I would give it a try and make a video in case anyone else was wondering what might be in the baskets as well.
Overall, I am very pleased with the amount, and the quality of the crystals inside the basket I picked out. I believe the value of what was in my basket surpassed the amount that I paid for the basket. Would I do it again? Yes I would, especially if I were unable to mine for them myself.
I hope that this video is a help to you if you have ever thought of buying a basket from Ron Coleman. I recommend it...have fun with it!

Thank you!! That’s exactly why I did this video…I have walked past them so many times and always wondered, and guessed there were others like me who were wondering if they should get one or not too. So, I wanted to get this info out so people can make an informed decision if they would feel it’s worth it or not. I felt it was worth it. 👍

I just showed a few highlights, there’s many great pieces in there. I would say a couple hundred dollar’s worth of crystals altogether. Definitely felt worth it.

We were there recently and didn’t get much. We went two days in a row and walked out kind of disappointed with our finds, probably due to they hadn’t put any new tailing piles in about 3-4 weeks due to broken machinery. Ina case like that give a discount or be honest and let people know. I would love to go when they do have working machinery, but not always easy when you live 4 states away.

When I go and they haven’t dumped in several days, I often dig deep into the piles and put a lot of effort in removing large rocks out of the way (that people often avoid) so I can look under them. I’m a larger fella, so it’s easier for me than some, but I have almost always had good luck in looking under some larger boulders. Those areas are usually more fresh and unsearched.

Looks like a pretty good variety, I’ve been thinking about getting one of those to try out, do the prices fluctuate on the baskets a good amount?
They recently dropped the price from $150 to $115. I’m always a sucker for a bargain so they got me with it. 🤣 A friend mined there today and said that the price is still $115, so I’m guessing it’s permanent.

@joedadbod8450 I was watching while cleaning my diamond #5 finds. I will probably video them when I'm done. I use the toothbrush method so takes a while :).

I got a lot more crystals in value than what I paid for. Easily, in my opinion.
Each basket is different though, but they’re all supposed to be about the same in value from one to the other.

@@Bigfoot903Outdoors Aw, man!! I was going down there next month and was considering getting another one too…who knows, maybe my ship will come in and a long lost relative left me a huge inheritance so I can afford to do all of my crystal digging going forward. 🤣😂
@joedadbod8450 I filmed a video up there a couple maybe three weeks back, and you can see towards the ends where I was walking through and showing everything that the baskets were looking real rough and maybe 3/4 full

I’m not sure that is worthy, to my opinion they are not enough good size of crystals. A lot of junk pieces more than good. Just opinion! Sorry.
