Frank West is undoubtably Capcom’s most underrated hero ever, his development through the game fluids very well, starting as Journalist who only went for the scoop of the year and went out as a man who made justice for the death of thousands of people.
That including his charisma and T.J Rotolo amazing voice make his character to always stand out on scene, something you don’t see in other characters in zombie movies and games

I MAY have a theory, little stretched out, but might explain. In one of the missions, you must fight Carlito for a second time. He (Carlito) has a sniper, while you and Brad were talking cover a zombie sneaked up on Frank, however , Carlito blew his head off. The zombie's blood splatter on Frank, oddly close to his mouth as seen in the cutscene. So, maybe a bit of zombie blood managed to get in Frank's mouth.
As I said, a bit far fetched. But still possible.
@@rorkferal1693 I also noticed that some zombie blood spilled out and landed on Frank's lips. That may be the explanation.
Poor Frank. He's had it so rough, I know he forced himself into this but I still feel sympathy for him saving so much people and doing what he did.

@@skullservant4417 I guess you could say it’s Flanderization, when a character with depth and subtlety becomes shallow and exaggerated. But Frank never really cracked jokes in DR1… so I don’t even know if it counts. It’s like they invented a new personality for him

There is a point in the game (the beginning) where he does have the potential to show that, but right after he killed his first batch of Zombies, he just shows that he loves it, throwing the PTSD plot out the fucking window.

24:02 Ending B: Don't solve all the cases but be at the helipad on time.
26:28 Ending C: Solve all cases but don't talk to Isabela at 10 AM or solve all cases but don't reach the helipad in time.
27:23 Ending D: Be a prisoner of the Special Forces when time runs out.

I honestly wish there was a hidden 7 day survivor style joke ending.
Ending G: Stand on the helipad for 72 hours with Carlito and then when the helicopter arrives just the 3 of you escape, and Frank does a Bro fist with Carlito (Carlito who has been stuck on the roof with Frank for 3 days and thus unable to do any of his terrorist activities is good buddies now and not a single Zombie entered the mall and so everyone inside is safe)

I remember I got the A ending my first play through (surprisingly) and when I saw the helicopter pilot get clapped by that zombie I was shocked and then I saw Frank drop to ground on his knees with the zombies surrounding him. I wondered what the fuck I did wrong and I legitimately thought I got the worst ending where he dies but then was relieved from my pissed off and shocked state when Isabela saved him and I moved on to overtime mode
Got ending C my very first time because I forgot that at the very beginning it said "BE AT THE HELIPORT ON SEP. 22 AT 12:00" and thought there was an open time frame like when cases become available.

I have never played this game but its pretty cool that it tells you the date and if you dont rember its is just gonna leave you to get a another ending

07:50 Here, Isbaela says clearly and explicitly, that she performed organic synthesis of the drug. Which means one of three possibilities. First, Capcom didn't give a shit about continuity, and just wanted to introduce the Zombrex element in DR2. Second, Sullivan/Marian was lying, that the drug could only be made from queens. Third, Isabela lied to Phenotrans, and told them that there was no known synthesis, and that it could only be extracted from the queen wasps. The last two possibilities make no sense, because I don't understand what the US government, Phenotrans, or Isabela would have to gain from starting the epidemics.
11:00 Here, you can clearly see that the 12th child is Lisa Jackson, _not_ Nick Ramos. It's possible that this was Carlito's way of hinting that #12 was the immune child, the key to a permanent cure. But it seems more likely to me that Capcom didn't give a shit about continuity.

And don't forget that on #49 it's not Nick's friend Diego, it's Johann Collins.
Well as someone who's only played the first (and recently discovered multiple endings exist xD) it's possible given her knowledge on viruses she's a medical expert she knows the best way to kill a virus is with said virus dead or weakened (i.e flu shingles penicillin etc) there's alot of theoreticals to go into it but quite FRANKly (pun intended) Capcom probably didn't care for story andwent for profit in later games :T

I still find it weird that out of 50 names on that list, Capcom couldn't pick one & instead made a whole new person. Either that or Nick was an Orphan who changed their name

Yes it could be possible that Carlito used aliases, but if that's the case, where the hell is the actual list of names? If the actual list wasn't on his personal computer, where would it have been stored?

He dies in both endings where he lands on that roof to surveil the helipad. There's a zombie on that roof that kills him. In 2 endings where he lands on that roof government forces have been called in to murder everyone, in the others he just flies right in =/
He rescue a survivor and that survivor got infected and turn
He might save a survivor and that survivor may gotten Infected
@Fatty Drake Yes, there is not a clear explanation of how the zombie appeared inside the helicopter. It looks like it was made up to make the ending a bit mysterious.

That's due to Capcom not planning for a whole new series. Dead Rising was a bet, and well, they got it right. So, they've tried to implement Nick in some way related to the incident, and well, that's what they imagined.

Second ending is done by not completing any case missions
Nothing happens story wise if you ether save them or not.
Milk And Cereal I got that ending but I didn’t save all of them. Probably saved 20 survivors

Wait so Ending B is actually better for the main characters since none of them get infected and they get out alive...wow.

Sure, Frank saved as many people as he could.
But in doing so the actual truth never is revealed to the public.
Actually no ending B is still really bad because in every timeline, Jessie still gets infected from Dr. Barnaby. This means that later after they leave the mall, she'll eventually turn and who knows what kind of problem that will cause.
So there really isnt a good ending in this game lol. Everything is either really anticlimactic or not satisfying. huh who knew.
S ending is the happy and, thanfully, canon one

Well the S Ending was setting the game up for a sequel.
That's Capcom though. They don't settle it with just one game. This way they can exploit it with multiple games and failed adaptations. Like the failure that was Dead Rising 3 and Dead Rising 4. Dead Rising 2 had potential for story purposes but anything following the first should've been explosive with Carlito's plot being the epicenter of a nationwide outbreak. Kinda like how the Resident Evil Retribution ended off with a killer cliffhanger but didn't exploit it whatsoever like it should have. It was annoying that Carlito's plan was pushed back into DR3. I like Chuck Greene as a character. he was definitely worth recognizing as one. But they should've done more for Dead Rising than they did.

We know zombie's bit dont turn you into a zombie, a worm maybe infects you just like Kent have one, a queen hurts Frank at the first night, until then he must became a zombie.
You can literally see zombies turn survivors into zombies if you let them die.

The story of Dead Rising isint a zombie apocalypse. It’s a series of outbreaks going on in a world still going on it’s business. Ending F is probably the only ending I can think of where it’s an actual nationwide apocalyptic event
Given that Otis survived the outbreak, and his funeral can be found In dead rising 3, does anyone else hope him and frank met up and had a few drinks?

It would have been so cool as an Easter Egg that if you managed to not get hit by a zombie for an entire game, that an alternate Overtime was unlocked where maybe, hmm I dunno. Izabella was kidnapped, or something else happened during the final day.

@Burger Town no it's already been confirmed when Carlito Keyes blew that zombies head completely off during the boss fight with him an brad. Frank's face gets completely covered an can't stop blood from getting in his eyes/mouth/nose/ears. Stop spreading misinformation.

The U.S. government, having been unable to keep the secret about the zombies, now send soldiers to rescue survivors in later outbreaks, as they have nothing left to cover-up (Until later in the series), later, Frank squanders his fame and fortune, and would later try to chase rumors of a permanent cure.
Isabella works on a zombie vaccine that temporarily halts the zombification process, named "Zombrex", though it is an expensive and scarce drug.
Atleast frank Dosent get infected and everybody mostly lives

Why did capcom pull an entire new name outta their ass instead of just using a male name from the list already? A simple inconsistency could've been easily avoided. I've heard people say that it could've been a fake list that Carlito used if his computer was compromised, but I feel like that isn't the case because the computer was extremely guarded, hidden in an area with a hidden door, and the computer had a password that not even Isabela knew. If the real list is not even there, where would the real list of names be? Up Carlitos ass?

No. When Carlito infects all 50 orphans before sending them into the US, he make one of them immune to the parasite infection. Thus, he is the only man who will never become infected no matter how many time he was bitten.
Another plot hole with Frank being infected through out the series and even Katy for that matter is, if they’re infected why are zombies bothering with them at all?🤷😂😂😂 They should be able to just walk amongst the zombies like Lee does after he gets bitten in Telltale’s walking dead game.
