the locknut is for keeping it tite while riding so it does not vibrate loose.

That certainly could be a good unintended effect of using the locknut. But just putting out there that as far as all the provided documentation from the manufacturer goes, the design intention was for it to be for anti-theft reasons.

The sensor can be set up without the locknuts, and it still won’t vibrate loose. The locknut is actually optional and just there for an added safety measure if the user prefers.

One issue I had with TPMS sensors was the rubber o-rings/gaskets on the actual sensors itself getting loose (the red o-ring shown in 3:35) and air will leak from the tires gradually. Are the o-rings for this fobo tpms sensor glued onto the sensors itself?

The rubber gasket on the sensor side appear to be moulded in, or at least glued in. Pushing at it with a wooden toothpick, it feels like the gasket would tear apart first before it can even come loose.

Looking at the sensor dont seem to be glued but the design in such a way that it wont come easily even you try with your fingers to pull. You probably need to change after 5 years, which completely make sensor as all rubbers get degrade over time specially when using in all Weather conditions.

For the price of a fobo i can buy 7-8 TPMS from shopee that doesnt need a phone connection and has a dedicated display. And therein is the crux of the issue of Fobo, it is so damn expensive vs the alternative that does the exact same thing

Good point, but cheaper TPMS options are often inaccurate and don’t give real-time alerts, which is often an issue for people who use TPMS for long distance ride. You'll only require internet connection during the setup, which is less than 5 min. Other than that, you only need to turn on your Bluetooth. As for the dedicated display, I think people who prefer a minimal setup on their bike would find FOBO more appealing without the bulky dedicated display.

I believe the 7-8 TPMS wont Last for the time FOBO will Last. What we pay with FOBO is Quality, reliability and Customer Support. Getting something from Shopee and from China which wont Last for 2 months and accuracy always in question. I personally dont want to put my life in danger with that type of Product, i prefer to spend on FOBO rather than spending on TPMS which need to change every 2 months, yes, probably you need 7-8 in 2 years duration.
