I remember that Changmin was supposed to be SM's first male soloist idol back then, but he refused because he was too loyal to his group TVXQ that he entered the military service in the same year as his partner, Yunho, so they can return to activities together. Hence, he was only convinced to start solo after 17 years in the industry, but also I think he felt more comfortable now and it shows in the maturity of his musicality.
SM feels more like the music academy other than an agency. The solo albums for any group member fit their personalities and musical skills so much: Taemin, Baekhyun, Kai, ChangMin, TaeYong, Chen, you name it. ChangMin’s this song is wonderful.
I believe 'Devil' is originally by Alex Runo and this is Changmin's cover/remake. Changmin really enjoyed the song and wanted to do a version of his own for his new mini album. He did write the Korean lyrics for the cover I believe. Love it and love Changmin's new mini album.
Yep. Alex Runo’s songwriter name is Alexander Holmgren I believe. He has previously written songs for Changmin and TVXQ before. It’s also worth noting that the adlibs aren’t just Max here. The lower more “coming from the stomach” ones (i have no idea how to explain it otherwise lol) are by Yoo Youngjin, MAX’s vocal coach.

when you said produced does that mean composed the song? because if you look up the credits for the song, there's no yoo youngjin. but he definitely sings the background vocal and adlibs here and there.
You can always rely on kpop legends aka TVXQ to try new styles and rhythms that are not comparable to typical kpop, especially Changmin the king of vocals for me, Devile has that touch of gospel that added to those high notes and those vocals make that song a masterpiece
I think you’d really enjoy Kep1er’s stage performance of Mvsk. The song is SO excellent and the vibe is totally different.. a bit more mature, almost kinda sensual with a hint of something fun. The choreo kills too!
