I just discovered My Name Is Ruin and it's such an epic track. Even better with Persia'a vocals.
She really adds something special to that track, for sure.
My daughter competed in her first cheer competition a few weeks ago, first time in front of a huge crowd. I literally cried with pride when she walked out and was so proud. For a young person to perform in front of people and do so well it really takes your breath away as a parent. When I realized it was his daughter I cried, the song is so wonderful and her little voice is just an amazing addition
Why didn't anybody tell me about this guy? For decades he's been "that guy who sang Cars", and who seemed (to me) like a poor man's David Bowie. Catchy tune. Never heard anything else of his. Didn't even know he was still around.
Then I heard "Ruin." Oh my God! Then I start listening to other stuff. Oh my God! Then I find out he has TWENTY TWO studio albums out. OH MY GOD!
I know what I'm doing for the next 6 months.
LOL Eric, Mr Webb has been part of my tapestry of life along with other greats such as Emerson, Lake & Palmer (My #1) and many others. I did exactly the same thing with Depeche Mode in 2013........ Delta Machine Tour and more recently Global Spirit Tour in Bologna!

Been a DM fan for over 30 years, but I’m ashamed to say I’m not familiar with most of Gary’s work. That changes from now, as ‘Savage’ is an awesome album - “Ruin” and “Bed of Thorns” are epics
Eric Anderson Americans can be a bit slow and out of the loop!! Roxy Music from the 70s was never recognized here either, you’ve got to check that out... agreed, my friends don’t know either... I m bringing someone to his show tonight and all he knows is cars!! Another friend spelled his name Newman, it’s weird we didn’t get it...

If Gary wanted the song Ruin to sound big and epic... he nailed it! I absolutely love it. Huge fan since ‘79. Stay awesome and humble, Gary! And huge congrats to Persia for doing such an amazing job on the song! It’s so cool. 😎
Always liked Gary's music, Ruin is a masterpiece, Persia is a masterclass, waiting for the vinyl to be
delivered. Even now I'm 69 and a Floydy this is in my top 2 favourites. Glad I've lived long enough to catch it!
I did the VIP thing to one of his concerts, he invited us on to his tour bus, we were chatting for ages, he is such lovely man, he is refreshingly honest and down to earth. I have been a fan for years, just love him and his music. Thanks for posting this.
I'm so glad to see Gary legit happy. He's been through some rough patches in life but has always poured his soul into his art that brings so much joy to his fans. So glad he's doing well.

This is a damn good interview. You let the man talk, let him gush over his splendid little girl, very well done. My Name Is Ruin is the first thing I have heard of Gary's in far too long. I have to admit I was in a state of awe for a few minutes. I listened to it 5 times while I was on lunch. I'm still listening at least once a week even now.

The song had the same reaction for me. I saw it last night on The Old Grey Whistle Test (BBC TV Special). It stole the show for me.
I couldn't have said it better! I've been a fan of Gary's for years but when I first heard My Name Is Ruin it was like discovering him all over again. He just knocked it out of the ball park with Savage.

Absolutely awesome. Ashamed I didn’t know he was still going. Heard Ruin for the first time tonight on the OGWT and was blown away. Best thing I’ve heard in ages. Looking forward to listening to loads more.

The interviewer looks a bit like the prime minister of Belgium (Louis Michel)… that would be cool.
He was always very underrated by the music press back in the day. He's probably, only now, receiving the recognition he deserves. He has always been very humble and grateful which is so rare in the music industry. I only met him once but can say he comes across as being a very decent sort of chap. Good luck to him.

So awesome. As a father it is so amazing when you can do something with your kids that includes them in your profession or passion (in this case both). Would loved to have seen her on stage in Chicago. Thrilled that my son came to the show with me :) Huge fan since 1980!
I've gotten to see him do the song with Persia live twice now. She is adorable and talented and watching Gary just beam with pride is a truly heartwarming thing.
Seems like the sweetest man ever. Big GN fan but with this beautiful album and his love for his daughter, I’m loving this way more now❤️

Persia's humble personality isn't a surprise when you look at Gary's own personality. Many young performers her age have already developed a dreadful ego and you wonder with what morals their parents taught them.
Only eleven years old? I can hardly wait to see how good she will get. You both should release an album some day...
When I heard Ruin, I was just imagining how low that sub-bass would be set at for his tour. Imagine that crashing against your chest in an academy type venue. wow.

Her face does look like a 20 year old girl in that video. The first time I watched it without paying much attention I thought it was a 19 or 20 year old woman. Her head is even a little disproportionate to her body.
She is weird looking. She is not pretty, but at least she is not ugly like her mom. They are just trying to make money out of her to feed her mom’s ridiculous plastic surgery. She will not make it big, as she does not have enough talent.

Gary's new album " Savage :" Songs from a broken world " is about a post apocalyptic world....a wasteland by man made global warming. Gary goes so far to pen an op-ed just ripping into Trump for backing out of the Paris Agreement. What leads me to complete confusion is, How can someone that burns thousands and thousands of gallons of fuel to tour around the world....uses an incredible amounts of energy to heat and cool his enormous mansion...rents motor homes to ferry his family around for vacations....stand and preach to his fans about man made global warming...fans that probably use only a fraction of energy he does. So two things here...either Gary is naive about all this global warming stuff...or he is just a flat out hypocrite that uses propaganda to make money...ya know...Like Al Gore.

Don't get me wrong, I love Gary Numan - have seen him in concert since he started, way back when, but I do wish he'd get a better wig. His "hair" looks dreadful in this interview
