Hey everyone! It's Jake from Lax Weekly and today we're looking at a PLL lacrosse game where Garrett Epple from the Redwoods hits Zach Currier from the Waterdogs really hard! This was a big lacrosse hit.

Currier was just as at fault as Epple. The PLL targets epple because he’s had some questionable plays in the past

That is not true. He completely sucker punched currier in the face when he had his hands down. He should get suspended.
You're absolutely right John, this is just clear Quint picking on Garrett. This guy Quint has had an out for ND, Calvert Hall, and more importantly Epple for a good bit now. Always a negative comment from Quessnich. TONS of audio and video to support as well...

My coach always taught me to not fight the other team even if they clearly started it. Just because referees are dumb when it comes to a lot of fouls, not a good move for Epple

Na in high school, OHSAA, if you cause any kind of fight or break out you could get suspended from the team, possibly fined and you loose the privilege to play sports that season or if it’s bad for the rest of your high school career
Yeah cause like I said lacrosse these day is getting very weak I’ve played for a long time and fights happened and u got a couple minute penalty you didn’t get suspended unless you did something really really really fucked up
Is it just me ? Or does Quint Kessenich perk up everytime he hears "Garrett Epple Penalty" - My guy lights up like a damn Christmas Tree anytime he hears those words.. not sure how he still is a "Professional Commentator"- this guy definitely just made things personal between the two!
Agreed. Quint is an absolute joke of a commentator. I totally understand commentators having certain biases, especially when they were former players. But Q let’s his biases run his commentaries to the point where it’s disconnected from the actual game we are watching and it’s annoying to listen to him. I was so disappointed when the PLL took him on as a commentator with ESPN. His articles on lax all stars a terrible as well.

Thanks for doing these break downs. I’m really good friends with redwoods head coach Nat St.Laurent. He was I’ve at my house on Sunday and we had a chat about this. I honestly think Epple shouldn’t get anything out of this. The guy Epple hit fell like a soccer player and like you said, hit him in the neck first.

Great videos, love the breakdowns! The call was right and the refs need to let the players play and fight it out if necessary. It’s gonna fill seats just like Box Lacrosse and hockey. Quint, lay off the season suspension comments, you played like a tough guy too at one time. 💪

@Lax Weekly If you really read all the comments. Read this one. Go back, review your video and then fix your commentary. Epple does not "Do the same thing back" or "Hit Currier in the neck" He CLEARLY hits Currier in Facemask/Helmet. Which I'm not making a case for that being ok, I am just saying.. theres a difference between Epple getting Slashed in an unprotected neck- & then you have Currier who gets hit in the helmet or facemask , not to mention a clear "Lebron James Flop" out of Currier at the end of the day.

I like the pll being physical like I’m 12 and I’n my travel league if u knock someone over (even bull dodge) it’s a minute unreleaseable penalty and it’s so annoying. I see why epple got the flag but like he’s the bulldozer and like60% of his hits are clean
They got it right. 1 min for Currier, 2 for Epple.
In my opinion you dont want or need a dirty player like Epple in the PLL and should at least suspend him. If this was the only time he did this of course its justified, but its not so he should be punished very hard in my opinion
Every coach would love to have epple on his team period.
Lacrosse is already turning into a bitch sport it was justified in what he did getting slashed in the neck you start taking out guys that are willing to do the big Shaq and bust their ass like Eppel dose Game is already getting soft
@@mrjonedward1 I mean I get why have a epple on your team is good. He's a goon kinda guy that you see in hockey but he isn't really doing it right imo. He's making these hits personal instead of sticking up for a teammate, but he did hit gaudet cause of the chirping so him getting that first lick in is fine but throwing a metal stick into someone's neck is down right nasty. So if he keeps it to just a shove or not something that he does cause he gets angry.
I get it that he shouldn’t retaliate, but I’d do the same thing if someone went out of their way to catch me in the throat

Epple shouldn’t have hit currier like that, but it is pretty fun to watch Epple body players.
i haven't liked epple since that cheap shot on gaudette. i understand why he did it, but he should have hit him clean to send the message
I don't think that Garrett should be suspended the game he's just trying to play and someone hit him in the neck. I play lacrosse too and I would do more then hit someone back.
Im an epple fan. i feel like if he gets suspended currier should get the same punsihment becase he started it by checking his neck.
Just compare the force between each check. Currier gives him a slap type slash which would for sure hurt like hell, then Epple gives Currier a full crosscheck to the face. 1st play is a penalty, 2nd play is trying to injure your opponent
Don’t hit somebody in the throat with your stick you have everything coming to you after that like I said the PLL is getting weak lacrosse and itself is getting weak you can’t do shit anymore

Shouldve been a longer penalty or a one game suspension, Epple has a history of playing dirty and that isn’t a good look for the PLL
That’s because this league is weak lacrosse is becoming more Of a pussy sport you can’t even hit somebody in the elbow pads if you do it too hard it’s a penalty and people like you are pushing that agenda making lacrosse horrible

Epple should be suspended ONLY because he has a history of dirty cheap shots. Doesn't matter if Currier hit him first or hit him in the neck area, one of the first things you're taught in EVERY sport is to not retaliate and let the other team get the penalty. Epple's hit from two years ago, late hits all season and this retaliation should warrant a suspension... Just my opinion though.
The only reason why half those hits are illegal these days is because lacrosse is getting soft and no he shouldn’t be suspended if anything they both should be suspended if he would’ve hit him in the throat correctly he could’ve did serious damage and it is what it is

I played 8 years of lacrosse and never has it been legal to hit someone high, crosscheck or slash to the throat, crosscheck a downed player in the head multiple times, retaliate or hit a player late after the play. Lacrosse is not a collision sport like football or hockey lmao. Sure there are collisions but nothing like football or hockey
Oh you played lacrosse for eight years I been playing lacrosse for 25 years and yes hard body hits we’re legal yeah hits directly to the head not legal but literally if you hit someone too hard in the elbow pad it’s a penalty yes lacrosse is getting soft

Not really the only hits that were even remotely bad where the shot to the throat the shot to the head and maybe The hit to Mike and even it was so close I realize people can’t take hits these days What position did you play because I know when I’m throwing my body to do a body check and just because they just barely get the ball away from them before I hit them I can’t just stop on a dime and not hit them that’s What happens when you play full contact sports

Quint is the worst announcer in the league. He was freaking out over this shit. Literally have to mute him to watch the games.

@@gmanproductions3400 late hit isn’t dirty. Love sowers but that hit didn’t go past his shoulder. + with sowers he’s always a threat to fake a shot. Not a bad hit
